So I hope that y’all enjoy my thoughts and go read this great series!! ~ Amber
Welcome to Last Call…a bar where the drinks are cold and the nights are scorching hot.
Casey Markham is a man-eater in a rut. Swearing off relation- ships may keep her heart safe, but she’s beginning to question if her casual flings will ever leave her satisfied. She’s wondering if it’s finally time to let go of the past and stop letting history control her future.
Bad boy biker, Tenn Jennings can’t get Casey off his mind. A chance encounter with the beautiful blond has left its mark, and now he’s determined to prove her wrong about everything she thought she knew about men.
It’s safe to say… Casey Markham has met her match.
SHAKEN, NOT STIRRED can be read as a stand-alone.
Sawyer Bennett knocked this one out of the park! Oh my I knew it would take a special kind of man to get Casey Markham’s attention for more than just her normal maneater ways and boy does Tenn Jennings accomplish this task!! This story is so good in so many ways. It’s smart, it’s funny, it’s heartbreaking and most importantly it is hot with a capital H-O-T!
Sawyer has created some amazing men, especially in this series, but there was something special about Tenn from the beginning. He may look like a bad boy biker, but he is so far from just that it wasn’t even a question. He sees Casey and from the second their eyes meet you know this connection is gonna rock both of their worlds. This is especially true for Casey who has been running from her feelings and love for her entire adult life, and hiding those reasons from her friends and family. Tenn gets her and reads her like she’s glass, which scares the crap out of Casey but he slowly makes her break all her rules and she is falling just as hard and fast as Tenn. I loved how he didn’t let Casey get away with crap, he just stood his ground and told her he was gonna be there for her. I mean don’t we all want a man who is that self-assured in how he feels? Don’t get me wrong Tenn has his own insecurities about his life but not about his daughter and not about Casey; which I thought was beautiful. Watching Casey fall was definitely worth the wait, though I’m gonna miss this series a lot!! Great job Sawyer!
“You’re real,”she counters. “You’re real, down to earth, and there isn’t a pretentious bone in your body. That makes you dangerous.” – Casey
“It’s like this. You’re not a woman that needs to be treated with kid gloves. You don’t need coddled or unnecessarily flattered. You’re too sharp and savvy for that. It’s made you wary and shielded, which has in turn made you stagnant. You’re stuck in a rut of your own making…maybe for self-preservation, maybe not… but your boundaries have stunted the woman you’re meant to be. It’s like the cocktails you make when you bartend. You need to be shaken, not stirred.” – Tenn
“You need to grab onto it, Casey, and make it your bitch,” Gabby says with a wink and a smirk. “Yeah,” Andrea says in affirmation. “Make love your bitch.”
