Title: Hawke (Cold Fury, Book #5)
Author: Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: March 15, 2016

Synopsis:
The New York Times bestselling hockey series featuring the Carolina Cold Fury continues as the team’s most notorious party animal gets blindsided by the one that got away.

Off the ice, elite defenseman Hawke Therrien enjoys his fair share of booze and good times. And why shouldn’t he? He’s worked his way up from the minor leagues and made himself a star. The only thing Hawke misses from that life is the pierced, tattooed free spirit who broke his heart without so much as an explanation. She’s almost unrecognizable when she walks back into his life seven years later—except for the look in her eyes that feels like a punch to the gut.

Vale Campbell isn’t the same girl she was at twenty. As crazy as she was about Hawke, her reckless behavior and out-of-control drinking were starting to scare her. She had to clean up her act, and that would never happen with Hawke around. Cutting him loose was the hardest thing Vale ever had to do—until now. Because she’s still crazy about Hawke. And if he could ever learn to forgive her, they just might have a future together.

Amber’s 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Review:

I adore this Cold Fury series so much! Each guy has brought something a little different to the rink than the last. With Hawke it’s all about having a good time, something that has always been true of him but in the past seven years it’s been what’s kept him moving forward besides hockey. Because if he’s having a good time then he doesn’t have to dwell on the fact that he’s never gotten his heart back from the one girl he gave it to, but that crushed it’s spirit when she shut him out. So what happens when his past collides with his present?

Vale happens.

Vale was the wild child, party girl that owned Hawke Therrion’s soul years ago. Pushing him away broke them both in many ways, but in a way it also forced Vale to find her way in life and as a result she and Hawke are reconnected thru the Cold Fury. Vale ignores him at first, but once Hawke reaches out to Vale’s dad things get interesting.

I felt like this was a really good second chance romance. These two had a lot of secrets and a lot of hurt between them. A lot of miscommunication and a lot of stupid, immature decisions that while cost them greatly, also made them stronger in the present even if that was hard to see. I liked so much about this story, though I did feel like was missing little things at some of the transitions. Overall it’s still a great piece to the Cold Fury franchise and I’m really looking forward to Max’s story next!
