This is my first book by Kelly Jamieson, but it won’t be the last! If you like hockey romance you should definitely check this one out! I read it in one day and really adored the story and characters. So much that I’m gonna check out the other book and novella! Enjoy! ~ Amber

Title: Icing

Series: Aces Hockey #3

Author: Kelly Jamieson

Publisher: Loveswept

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Date: April 19, 2016

Hailed by Jami Davenport as her “go-to author for hockey romance,” the bestselling author of the Heller Brothers Hockey series sets the ice ablaze with another sexy novel featuring the gorgeous men of the Chicago Aces.

Duncan Armstrong may be an NHL star, but he’s a country boy at heart. His ultimate fantasy is going home with the Stanley Cup, not a gold-digging airhead who aspires to be a trophy wife and nothing more. Newly single and hoping to enjoy a night out with his teammates, he ends up hitting it off with a down-to-earth waitress who’s a complete breath of fresh air—until Duncan learns that she’s a part-time model. He tries to forget about her, but their sizzling chemistry has him coming back for more.

Amber is working hard to put herself through school, and has zero interest in dating a professional athlete. She’s seen firsthand how fame and fortune can mess with their heads—her father’s brilliant football career ended in a firestorm of addiction and infidelity. So Duncan’s attentions immediately have her on the defensive. Still, there’s something different about him. And once she stops trying to freeze him out, irresistible temptation turns into all-consuming passion.

What a totally great read!! I love stumbling upon new to me authors in a genre I already adore! There’s something about a hockey romance for me; whether that’s the big guys, their alpha tendencies or just how unpretentious they seem – all I know is I like them. A lot!

Duncan Armstrong was all of this to me. From the first page I liked that he’d rather be in a ballcap and boots, drinking beer than schlepping shopping bags with some hoity toity snob. When he breaks it off with Melissa I thought, “yep this guy is a good one”. Boy was he ever! Now he’s got some issues because of dating shallow girls like Melissa, but at the heart he just wants someone that’s real, that just wants to enjoy his company. When he meets Amber (great name btw), even though he’s at the bar to drink his misery away and stay away from all things female; he is drawn to her.

Amber Johnson is just trying to stay afloat and get thru her last semester of college. She doesn’t have time for a relationship and she sure doesn’t have time for a professional athlete. Though when she meets Duncan as she is waiting on him, she finds herself flirting with him and liking him. That is until she realizes that he is the friend of her boss and a professional hockey player! However as much Amber wants to have nothing to do with Duncan, their chemistry is just not that easy to ignore.

This was one of those books for me that once I started I just couldn’t stop reading! Duncan and Amber together were fun and they had amazing chemistry!!! The supporting players were just as intriguing and I definitely want to read Marc and Lovey’s story! Kelly Jamieson does a great job of not only character development, but also in her hockey descriptions and story flow. If you are a fan of Toni Aleo and Sawyer Bennett’s hockey books, then you should definitely check out this series!
