Restaurant owner Tom Fearnes has loved his partner Cass for as long as he can remember, but their work often keeps them apart. When he meets a striking young man named Jake on the vibrant streets of Camden Town, their heady first encounter takes an unexpected turn.
Jake Thompson can hardly believe his luck when he wakes up in Tom’s bed. Tom is gorgeous, kind, and . . . taken. Tom’s explanation of his open relationship leaves Jake cold, but Tom is too tempting, and when hard times force Jake to accept Tom’s helping hand, he finds himself between two men who’ve lost their way.
Cass Pearson is a troubled soul. He loves Tom with all he has, but some days it feels like he hasn’t much to give. Jake seems like the perfect solution. Cass risks everything to push Jake and Tom together, but Jake resists, wary, until the darkness of Cass’s past comes to call. Then Jake finds himself the last man standing, and it’s time to dig deep and shine a light for the men he’s grown to love.
This is one of those books that just makes you go WOW! I have to admit I was a bit hesitant when I started, menage stories tend to make me nervous but THIS is how you do it! This story was amazing, it was emotional and intense and I absolutely loved it. Tom, Cass and Jake are beautiful characters, broken but beautiful. Their relationship is something very special.
Tom and Cass have been together for years and their love for each other is strong and deep, but they have an open relationship, they are allowed to sleep with other people. It’s unconventional but it works for them and doesn’t change how they feel about each other. When Tom meets Jake at a pub, the waiter makes an immediate impression on Tom. They hook up, it’s great, but Tom can’t leave it at that and Cass can see it too. The three form a friendship but it’s clear there are deeper feelings involved.
It’s not easy for these three though, each of these men has their own issues and the real beauty, and pain, of this story is the journey to discovering what they all mean to each other and what it means to be whole. Cass and Tom love each other so much, there’s no denying that, but as a couple they have their problems. Jake struggles to figure out where he fits in that at times and doesn’t want to be what breaks them.
I loved this story, it was intense and so full of emotion. Tom, Cass and Jake got right to my heart and I fell completely in love with them. The love in this story is so strong I could feel it. This really is a journey of finding love, keeping love and making your own. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait to read more from Garrett Leigh!
