BLURB

When Brian “Brin” Schubert’s condo floods, he takes his co-worker up on the offer to stay on his crappy futon for a while. The last thing he expects is for his friend’s roommate to be the one guy he despises the most. The same guy who stomped on his heart senior year of high school. And by the looks of the girl on his arm, the same man who’s still deep inside the closet.

Nicholas Dell never predicted that eleven years later, one of his greatest regrets would show up on his doorstep down on his luck. Nick has made some terrible mistakes—story of his life—and he’s been paying for them ever since. And if the guilt and shame aren’t enough, his first crush had to turn into one of the sexiest men he’s ever laid eyes on.

Nick and Brin have weeks to steer clear of each other. Weeks to avoid strangling each other. But when stubbornness leads to skyrocketing sexual tension, hate-sex doesn’t seem like such an awful way to work through their frustration. Except hate is a powerful emotion, especially when it’s turned inward. And in Nick’s case he’s been drowning in a sea of self-loathing for so long, he can’t see his way out.

As Brin reconnects with Nick, his perception of what really happened in their past begins to change. He’s finally ready to forgive him and take a second chance on the one guy who stirs him like no other. But Nick’s demons are complicated, heart-wrenching…demanding. So devastating, he might never allow himself true happiness—even with the one man who’s always owned his heart.

I absolutely loved this book and I can tell you right now that Brin and Nick are going on the favorites list! This book was just everything and got me right in the heart! I’m a huge fan of the enemies-to-lovers trope, I love the passion found in those relationships and Christina Lee nails it 100%!! This story really wasn’t what I expected initially but holy moly I absolutely adored it!

When Brin’s condo floods due to a burst pipe he needs a place to stay for a few weeks while they are making repairs and it’s his best friend and co-worker Elijah who offers up his place. He has a roommate Brin hasn’t met but it’s only a few weeks so it shouldn’t be an issue. But when Brin finally meets the roommate, he’s stunned to see Nick, a guy he knew from high school, the guy he tutored and messed around with and the guy who broke his heart. Nick is just as shocked to see Brin but he hopes he may be able to finally get the chance to apologize. The two try to get along, just for the few weeks Brin is staying there and as they do the walls come down and the truth comes out.

I loved Brin and Nick, absolutely freaking adored them but Nick was not at all what I expected. This poor guy is so very broken, trying to ‘make up for’ a tragic past that he doesn’t believe he deserves to be happy himself. When Brin comes back into his life, everything in his attempt at an orderly world comes crashing down all around him. My heart ached for him and what he was dealing with, the pain that never seemed to leave. Together though, these two are something so special! Brin doesn’t want to let Nick in again, he doesn’t think he can take that heartbreak twice, but the man is already in his heart. As they work through their past and their pain they learn more about each other and finally Nick reveals his pain to Brin, making him finally understand.

This wasn’t the easiest read, it absolutely shattered my heart at times (just get the tissues ready) but it was so very emotional and beautiful. Brin and Nick are such well developed, wonderful characters and their journey together is real and raw. As they come to understand each other and heal the love between these two just melted me. This was a story I felt, not just read, it’s one that went straight to my heart and I know it will stay there. Ms. Lee does an amazing job of bringing these characters to life and filling with so much emotion it is felt off the pages. I adored this book from beginning to end, it’s one of those books that as soon as I finished I wanted to start again just to experience it all one more time.

EXCERPT

“Brin, let me introduce you to my roommate,” Elijah said as I followed him through the short hallway to the living room. “This is Nick and his friend, Sarah.”

Sarah’s curly locks were nearly as blond as mine and Nick’s black hair was mostly tucked beneath a worn blue baseball cap. The two of them were cozy on the couch, Sarah sitting with her legs tucked under her and Nick with his ankle crossed over his knee. They were eating Chinese food off paper plates resting in their laps. Sarah simply waved as her mouth was full from a bite of food but Nick responded, “Hey, how you doing?” after swallowing a piece of what looked like an egg roll.

The smell of fried rice hit my nostrils and when my stomach rumbled in response, I realized just how famished I was. I was dying to dive right into the second brown bag resting on the coffee table that more than likely contained my food, but I didn’t want to be rude.

When Nick leaned forward with an outstretched hand, for some reason I zeroed right in on the neatly groomed scruff on his chin. When he tilted his face to look directly into my eyes, I froze, our fingers interlocked. A startled gasp sprang from my lips, and Nick’s eyebrows slammed together in confusion right before they lifted straight to his hairline.

The same cherry-colored lips, with a center dimple drilled into his chin. Those sad, amber-colored eyes that shuttered out the world.

Holy fuck. Elijah’s roommate was Nicholas Dell.

The same Nicholas Dell from Jefferson High who practically ruined me for other guys.

The same Devil’s third baseman that begged his math tutor to suck his cock in the locker room after practice.

And given the female nestled up beside him, it was the same Nicholas Dell who was still deep in the closet.

Strong Enough

by Melanie Harlow & David Romanov

Genre: Contemporary MM Romance

Publication Date: June 19, 2017

I wasn’t looking for Derek Wolfe.

I wasn’t looking for anybody. All I wanted was to start a new life in America. But when I found myself stranded here with no place to go, he came to my rescue, offering me a place to stay.

He’s smart, successful, and sexy as hell—I can barely sleep knowing he’s right down the hall. And when the chemistry between us explodes one night with fierce, fiery passion, it’s hard to deny there’s something real between us.

But he does.

He says he was drunk. He says it was a one-time thing. He says he’s not into guys and what we did meant nothing.

He’s lying. Because it happened again, and again, and again. And it’s better every time.

I know we could be good together, and I want the chance to try, but I’m done hiding. If he’s not strong enough to admit the truth, I’ll have to be strong enough to walk away.

Strong Enough was one of those books I fell in love with right from the start and just could not put down! Derek and Maxim are fantastic characters and their story is raw and full of emotion.

Derek had a vision for how his life should be – husband and father with everything in it’s place, but that’s not his reality. He wants to be happy and is struggling to find that happiness. Maxim is excited to finally be moving from Russia to America, but it’s a rough start for him, left stranded at the airport then his bag gets stolen. Through the kindness of a bartender he meets, he ends up staying with Derek and that’s how their journey together begins.

This story is amazing and will go straight to your heart! I felt attached to these two right from the beginning, there is a connection between them that you can just feel. Oh man, does Derek struggle though, and it made my heart hurt for him and for Maxim as well. There’s passion and love and so much self discovery in this book. This is definitely one of those books you ‘feel’ as you go and it is worth every single feel! Derek and Maxim show how beautiful love is and what it’s like to finally find your soulmate!

Melanie Harlow and David Romanov have created wonderful characters and a beautiful story that will definitely stay in my heart! Strong Enough is a definite must read!

Excerpt:

Figuring I’d had enough booze to blunt his effect on me, I rolled up the sleeves of my black button-down shirt and moved next to him. “I’ll help you.”

“Okay.”

I caught him trying to not to look at my wrists and forearms, and it made me smile. How does it feel to want someone and have to hide it? “You wash, I’ll dry?”

“Sounds good.”

We worked in silence, shoulder to shoulder, and I found myself increasingly—and disturbingly—pleased at the thought of him being attracted to me and being forced to conceal it. It was fucking horrible of me to take pleasure in his discomfort, but I liked being secretly wanted. Being illicitly desired. Being the object of his covert glances and maybe even his darkest, dirtiest thoughts. I let our arms touch more than necessary, as thrilled by the physical contact as I was by the thought of what it might be doing to him.

For there is no man who does not sin.

My dick started to get hard, clearly unbothered by the whiskey that was breaking down my inhibitions, pushing past all my defenses, and letting my imagination run wild.

What’s in that gorgeous head of yours, Maxim? What’s behind those cobalt eyes? What would you do to me, if I let you? What would you let me do to you?

“Carolyn is so nice,” he said, handing me the last serving dish left to be dried.

What? He was thinking about Carolyn right now? He wasn’t supposed to be thinking about Carolyn—I was, goddammit!

But I wasn’t. “Yeah.”

He turned off the water. Rested his wet hands on the edge of the sink. “I didn’t realize you had a girlfriend.”

And I heard it in his voice—the slightest edge of jealousy, so faint I might never have noticed it had I not been so hyperaware of everything about him right now. I fucking loved it.

“She’s not my girlfriend.”

“Oh.” Now there was confusion. “I guess I misunderstood.”

“She wants to be my girlfriend.”

Silence.

Of course there was silence. Maxim would never ask what the problem was. But I wanted to tell him. I wanted him to know. I wanted to share the impossible longing I felt with one person who might understand it.

“The problem is me.”

He was completely still. Before I could stop myself, I covered his right hand with my left. “Sometimes I don’t know what I want.”

He yanked his hand from beneath mine and we faced each other.

For the first time tonight, I looked him right in the eye. Nothing around us existed for me anymore. I heard only his breath. Smelled only his skin. Saw only his guarded expression.

I had to have him.

Mature Content

By Megan Erickson and Santino Hassell

Cyberlove Series

Book 4

My life plan is to be brutally honest all the way to the bank. Don’t believe me? I run a popular YouTube channel called TrashyZane, and my claim to fame is oversharing about every aspect of my personal life. Sometimes while tipsy. Not everyone loves my style, but I have a long history of icing out people who can’t handle me. I have no time for judgmental foolishness.

Except, apparently, when it comes to Beau Starr. His channel is the polar opposite of mine, and so is he. Wholesome, inspirational, and clean-cut. Everything about him should turn me off, but when we hook up following a confrontation at a convention, my world flips upside down. Not only does Beau Starr turn me on, he uses the exact combination of dirty talk and roughness needed to turn me out.

But we still hate each other. I think.

I love this series and with every book that comes out I think ‘oh they’ve done it, there’s no way I’m going to love anyone more than…’ and Megan Erickson and Santino Hassell have done it again! I freaking LOVE these two dirty boys so hard! This book was everything I wanted and more – it had snark, dirty talk, cute and love! Beau and Zane are just everything.

So, this story picks up around the end of Ian and Jesse’s book, with a bit of overlap at the beginning. While this can be read as a standalone, I would definitely recommend reading Hard Wired first, just to get some of the little things. Beau and Zane aren’t friends, they don’t get along and in fact they are known for throwing snarky shade at each other on their YouTube channels. On the surface, these two couldn’t be more different, Zane is known as TrashyZane and is brutally honest about who he is, he doesn’t sugar coat things and he doesn’t make excuses. Beau is known for his being positive and having inspirational content, and while he believes what is doing is good, it means he keeps part of himself hidden and has to be ‘on’ in public.

This is enemies to lovers perfection – these two realize that behind closed doors they have the exact same kink desires and can satisfy each other like no has before. It has to stay behind closed doors though, despite how things change between these two and real feelings come into play. They both have reps to maintain and for Beau, there really is a lot on the line.

I seriously adored these two together, whether they were snarking at each other or being absolutely cavity-worthy adorable I loved every bit of their journey. Both Beau and Zane have some personal issues they have to deal with if they really stand a shot at being together, but I really appreciated the way it was handled. This story isn’t overly angsty, it has its drama for sure, but it feels real and believable. This is definitely a must-read and quite possibly my favorite of the series! I really do hope that we get more from Megan and Santino, they definitely create some magic together!

EXCERPT

My door burst open, and I sat up from my two-week-old couch divot. Had I locked the door after the pizza man had left days ago? When I heard Jesse’s and Ian’s voices, I thought I was hallucinating. Why were they in L.A.?

“You can’t just barge in,” Jesse said. “Knock.”

“He’s probably just in the bathroom looking at himself in the mirror and taking selfies.” That was Ian.

What was the date? I picked up my phone and swiped to my calendar. Oh fuck, Jesse and Ian were in town scouting apartments. They said they’d drop by to see me and I was….

Jesse stopped so abruptly that Ian crashed into his back. They both stared down at me in horror.

“Beau has facial hair?” Ian clutched his boyfriend’s shoulders. “I honestly thought he had laser hair removal.”

“Seriously?” I said, at the same time Jesse rolled his eyes. “I can grow a beard if I want to. I just never want to, okay? It comes in patchy and it itches.”

“Huh.” Ian watched me suspiciously, like I was going to turn into a werewolf.

“I’m just having a bit of a lie-in,” I said.

Ian’s eyes got bigger. “A lie-in? What are you, British?”

Jesse, my dear cousin, looked downright concerned. “What the hell is wrong with you?”

“Nothing is wrong. Can’t a guy have some downtime?”

Jesse sat down next to me, wrinkling his nose and glancing down at my body. “Beau, downtime for you is like…drinks at the beach. This is—” He gestured at me. “I don’t know what this is. Did you remember we were stopping by?”

I picked up my phone and pretended to look at it. “I might have put it in my calendar wrong. Sorry about that. So, how is apartment hunting for you two lovebirds? Are you two okay in separate chairs here? Any separation anxiety?”

Jesse poked me with his elbow. “Apartment hunting is expensive.” He eyed Ian who’d curled himself up on a chair across from us, gaze on his phone. “But we can talk about that later. Do you want to shower? Change your pants?”

“Are you my mom?”

“Well, no, but I’m concerned!”

“And I’m fine,” I said through gritted teeth, annoyed with his questioning.

“Did you pre-record the last two weeks’ videos?” Ian asked bluntly.

“Yeah, I do that a lot when I travel.”

Ian raised his eyebrows, but I stared back at him in a challenge. Usually I lived for our banter, but today was not the day.

“Okay,” he said slowly. “Just curious, because you look like that. And Zane has been posting weird videos. And there’s some rumors you had some kind of intense convo at the bar at NerdCon.”

I froze. My mom mentioning our videos was no big deal. But actual rumors that we were talking? Shit. I wasn’t ready to explain my actions at the bar, or in the hotel room, with anyone. Not even Jesse. Especially considering how much shit I talked about Zane to him on a regular basis.

“We talked for a minute about the panel, but that was it.” I rolled my eyes and flopped back down on the couch, resting my feet on Jesse, who made a face. “People always want to make drama where there isn’t any. And is Zane posting weird videos out of the norm? He’s Zane.”

Ian eyeballed me suspiciously. “I guess,” he muttered before refocusing on his phone.

“Ian’s been worried about Zane,” Jesse said.

“Oh?” I was so good at pretending everything was okay.

“Yeah, his videos have been off for the last two weeks.”

“Huh. I’m sure he’ll let everyone know why soon or snap back in a little bit.”

“Maybe I’ll reach out to him,” Ian said.

“I’ll see him at Rainbow Ball next week,” I said, not knowing why I was speaking at all. “I’ll check in with him, tell him you asked about him.”

Ian gave me another of his analyzing stares. “Yeah, I’d like that. Tell him I’m thinking of him.”

“Sure,” I said.

It looked like he wanted to say more, but his phone rang. A smile spread over his face, and he jumped up. “Hey, I need to take this. This author wants to hire me for a big commission piece.”

I gestured down the hallway. “You can go into my bedroom if you want.”

“Cool, thanks.”

When Ian was out of the room, I glanced at Jesse and found him still studying me.

“You want to talk now that Ian is gone?” he asked knowingly.

I flicked the seam of my pillow. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

“You’re being weird, and I’m not sure if it’s because of Zane or something else.”

“It’s not because of Zane. Well, some of it is, I guess.”

“Ah.” He grinned. “Does that mean there is a thing with Zane?”

I stood up and ran my hands through my hair, which had a life of its own due to the amount of grease in it. “Fine, yes. Okay? We fucked at NerdCon. It was amazing, but we still hate each other, so it’s not happening again.”

Jesse’s eyes were huge. “I’m…not sure what to say right now?”

I wasn’t either. All our lives, I’d been the bossy one, the leader, and Jesse had been the follower. I was the ambitious one, the person with answers and advice. And now the shoe was on the other foot. Jesse had a career and a happy life, and I was a goddamn mess. But maybe I’d always been a mess. I was just excellent at covering it up with a smile.

My Best Friend’s Ex, an all new sexy, laugh out loud romantic comedy from Meghan Quinn is available now!

MyBestFriendsEx

My Best Friend’s Ex by Meghan Quinn
Publication Date: June 1st, 2017

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Synopsis

When I found an eviction notice taped on my apartment door, I had two options: find a comfortable cardboard box to call home, or move in with Tucker Jameson.

Seeing that cardboard makes me feel itchy, I chose the latter. Which shouldn’t be that big of a deal since Tucker is one of my good friends. And because he’s still pining after his ex-girlfriend and I’m trying to finish my nursing degree, there is nothing to worry about in the romance department, making my last semester an easy one to conquer.

Boy, was I wrong.

Rules are set, dinners are made, conversations are had, and a shirtless, swoony roommate walks around in nothing but a pair of black briefs, ruining me for every other man.

Before I know it, I turn into a panting, lust-filled woman begging for Tucker to kiss me, touch me, and show me exactly what is hiding under those briefs.

But with great orgasms, comes great consequences.

Tucker might be my friend and roommate but he’s also my best friend’s ex-boyfriend, making him completely off-limits. At least that’s what my brain is telling me, my heart is speaking an entirely different language.

5 Stars

I loved this book – so hard and holy moly you have to meet Tucker – you will fall head over freaking heels in love with him, I sure did! I went in to this book expecting one kind of story, something funny and sexy but I got so much MORE! This book is the perfect example of blending fantastic wit and humor with serious feels and emotion. My heart is still all schmoopy!

Emma is a nursing student, with only a semester left to graduate but one day is called home by her roommate to discover that they are being evicted. Her roommate has found a place to stay so she’s got to find a place for herself and while out having drinks one night she runs into a blast from the past, Tucker Jameson and he offers her a room at his house. These two used to be great friends but have grown apart since he also happens to be her best friend Sadie’s ex boyfriend. But, with no place else to go Emma and Tucker become roommates and so much more!

There is a lot more heart and emotion to this story than I expected and it makes it so very wonderful. Tucker and Emma are so wonderful and natural together, it’s easy to just feel their friendship. They are hilarious together and just so right, they are flirty and affectionate and it just seems natural for them to take it to the next step. Both seem to quickly develop real feelings for each other, but there are still questions about whether Tucker has really moved on from his broken relationship with Sadie. There’s more to his pain that just a break up and Emma and Tucker both have to figure out if what they have is strong enough to overcome that pain.

Seriously I adored this book, every page, every word! Emma and Tucker made me fall helplessly in love with them, laughing at their fun house rules and epically swooning. And it’s not just Emma and Tucker, they come with a group of hilariously wonderful friends that just add to this story. These are people I would definitely want to be friends with. Meghan Quinn has created a wonderful, fun and touching story about finding real love and figuring out how to keep that love! (And yes, awesome mugs definitely help!) I definitely recommend this book, it’s a must read!

Excerpt:

“Morning,” Tucker’s deep voice rattles off the cabinets. It’s his morning voice, deeper, throatier—if that makes sense—and I hate to admit it, because he’s just my friend, but sexier.

Once my pupils adjust to the light, I take Tucker in. He’s standing in front of the stove, rubber spatula in hand, wearing a white long-sleeve Henley shirt, the top two buttons undone, a pair of worn jeans with a few paint stains on them, and tan work boots. Sweet Jesus, he makes construction look good. Strap a tool belt around his waist and stick him in front of a camera for the benefit of all womankind.

“Morning,” I say in reply, using the counter to help hold up my tired body. “You’re up early. What time do you have to go into work?”

“Around seven thirty. I like to get an early start before the boys come in.” He looks me up and down, a small smile at the corner of his lips. “You look good.” He motions around his head with his hand. “I really like what you did with your hair.”

I turn toward the window in the kitchen and check out my reflection. Sure enough, my long brown hair looks like a lion’s mane poofed out and framing my face with an abundance of volume. Beautiful.

There is no use in taming it, so I leave my hair as is and turn back toward Tucker. “Not many people can get this kind of height while sleeping.” I pretend to fluff my hair.

“Impressive.” He chuckles and then points to the coffee maker with the spatula. “Coffee is done, mugs are above in the cabinet. Grab me a cup, will ya? Eggs will be done shortly, bacon is warming in the oven.”

I do as directed, thinking it’s kind of cute how he’s including me in on his little morning breakfast. “I didn’t even know you had eggs. I was expecting to hit up Dunkin’ Donuts or Tim Horton’s this morning.”

He turns off the stove and reaches for two plates from the dish rack. “I went to Walmart this morning. Picked up a few things.”

“This morning?” I pour two cups of coffee and turn toward him. “What time did you wake up?”

“Four thirty,” he answers casually. “Got a quick run in, did some weights, took a shower and then went to Walmart.” He fills our plates with bacon and eggs and then nods toward the dining room, plates and silverware in hand. “I have a surprise.”

I follow him to the dining room where he flips on the light and reveals a card table fold-out dining set.

“You got a table.” I chuckle, loving that it’s a fold-out card table with matching chairs. Anything is better than the floor.

“And placemats,” he adds, as he lifts two plastic placemats from one of the chairs. “The options were bleak so I went with dinosaurs for me and Trolls for you. Given the look of your morning hair, Trolls was the right choice.” Clever bastard. He sets them on the table and then puts our plates on top of them.

God, it’s too freaking cute. Chuckling, I take a seat and hand him his coffee. “Look at you getting all domestic. I never thought you would be a placemat kind of man, I stand corrected.”

He rests a napkin on his legs, which are spread drastically, almost the length of the table and leans over to fork some eggs into his mouth. “Didn’t want our food to damage the plastic of this high-class table.” I love the humor in his voice, it reminds me of all the good times we had, before the end of his relationship with Sadie.

“Smart man, you want this table to last.”

“Of course, you don’t see fine furniture like this in houses anymore. Everything has to be so sturdy. What ever happened to rickety furniture and living through a meal with the threat of your food possibly kissing the floor at any point in time?”

“The horror,” I joke.

He looks up at me. Some of his hair is still wet from his shower. Pointing his fork at me he says, “Are you ready to be schooled?”

“Schooled on what?” I take a bite of bacon and my stomach jumps in excitement for finally rewarding it for waking up early. All right, I will admit it, getting out of bed was a smart idea.

“It’s Monday, babe. DJ Hot Cock has his song picked and ready to show you what real music is.”

“When was my music taste ever questioned? I like good music.”

“We’ll see.” He reaches into his pocket and pulls out his phone. I watch as he flips through it until he lands on the song he wants to introduce me to. He presses play and sets his phone on the table. The light pickings of a guitar fill the small dining room. I don’t recognize the song, but I like the sound of it so far.

Just as I’m settling in to the sweet pickings of a guitar, the distinct voice of Zac Brown chimes in. I’ve known Tucker for loving EMO growing up, so his choice in a country song is very surprising to me, but when I look up at him, pure hometown country boy sitting across from me, it makes perfect sense.

And then the lyrics hit me. My Old Man. Zac sings about his father, hoping he’s proud of the man he’s become. I’m transported back to a dreary day in Whitney Point, where we grew up, when Sadie called me one Saturday morning. I was getting ready for the day. We were in middle school. Tucker’s dad was killed by a head-on collision, the dad Tucker just reconnected with, the dad Tucker had plans on moving in with to get away from his neglectful mom. Those next few days—and weeks—were a whirlwind of sorrow. Attending his funeral, my first ever funeral, seeing the look of devastation on Tucker’s face, wondering what he might be feeling, trying to channel his hurt, it was so much to take on as a teenager.

Glancing up, I take in Tucker’s expression. He’s lost in the music, in the words, just like me. When the song ends, I lean over and place my hand on his, our eyes meet and there is an unspoken understanding between us. I don’t have to say anything about his dad, about the tragedy we went through so many years ago together as friends. It’s all said between this silent exchange.

A BLONDE AT HEART

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!

Wow – what an emotional journey, so many feels! Zee and Alexis will definitely capture your heart in this powerful story about finding real, true love! Zee is an amazing character, with such a wonderful heart but carrying so much pain. There are secrets he keeps and a guilt that never leaves him. When he meets Alexis, he knows he should stay away but he can’t, he knows that she will change everything.

This really was a journey for these two, both Alexis and Zee have their own issues they are trying to get through. There’s something between them though, something intense and undeniable. It’s not that easy though of course, they may be perfect for each other but it doesn’t seem like they really can have a future, especially in Zee’s mind. The past and present collide in a huge way for both Zee and Alexis and everything unravels for them both.

I adored seeing these two fall in love with each other, they really are two beautiful souls. Zee’s pain and struggles are raw and real but once he starts working through it all and sees what Alexis really means to him, as well as the others in his life, it all comes together beautifully and goes right to the heart! Alexis has such a wonderful heart and her love and support for Zee are exactly what he needs.

Overall, this really was a great read that grabbed me by the heart from the very beginning. I loved their journey, even when it was painful because it all came together so very beautifully! This is definitely a must-read from A.L Jackson.

Jodi Morgan is having a bad weekend. After partying a little too hard, she wakes up with a monster
hangover and almost no recollection of the night before. So imagine her
surprise when she looks in her trunk and instead of finding a spare tire, she
finds the last guy she’d danced with before blacking out.

Who is he? How did he get in there? How did he die? And oh dear lord, did she
kill him!?

When her older brother’s best friend offers to help, things start looking up.
They’ve known each other since she was thirteen, and ten years later, he still
treats her like a little kid – surely, committing felonies has to trigger some
sort of spark. Together, they wind up going on an adventure that takes them all
over Los Angeles. From raves to penthouses to strip clubs. All in the search
for the answer to her question.

Who is the dead guy in my trunk!?

Warning: This book contains some dark humor, a lot of witty banter, and two
characters making more bad decisions than good ones. Also contains adult
themes, language, and graphic sexual activity.

4.5 Stars
Oh wow – what a freaking ride! This book was so not what I expected, but it really was a fun, thrilling ride! Stylo Fantome has created a fantastic mix of humor and suspense and  a few ‘what did I just read’ moments thrown in. Jo and Archer are fantastic, if dysfunctional, characters!
After a night of hard partying, Jodi wakes up the next morning with a nasty hangover and a dead body in her trunk. No really, a dead body! Not knowing who he is or how he ended up there she enlists the help of Archer, her brother’s best friend and her long time crush. Together these two set out to try to figure who the dead man is and how he ended up in Jo’s car.
So, I don’t want to spoil a minute of this hilarious trip for anyone so I will just say this is a must-read. I laughed and cringed and laughed some more as these two stumble through their quest finding trouble everywhere they go! I loved the twists and turns, I never knew what to expect next. This book is fast paced, action packed and so inappropriately funny from start to finish. I truly enjoyed how different this story was, no frilly good girl and rich prince to save the day, nope these characters are gritty and raw and wonderfully crazy!

Author Bio
Crazy woman living in an undisclosed location in Alaska (where the need for a creative mind is a necessity!), I have been writing since … forever? Yeah, that sounds about right. I have been told that I remind people of Lucille Ball – I also see shades of Jennifer Saunders, and Denis Leary. So basically, I laugh a lot, I’m clumsy a lot, and I say the F-word A LOT.I like dogs more than I like most people, and I don’t trust anyone who doesn’t drink. No, I do not live in an igloo, and no, the sun does not set for six months out of the year, there’s your Alaska lesson for the day. I have mermaid hair – both a curse and a blessing – and most of the time I talk so fast, even I can’t understand me.

Yeah. I think that about sums me up.

A story of two men and the boundless love that forever changed them.

Vannguard Shaw has spent the last ten years serving a life sentence and adjusting to the ache of solitude. He accepts his fate, a sacrifice for the only man he ever loved and the one person who saw beyond his rough edges.

Drayton grew up with a trust fund and pre-planned future, but an unexpected encounter one night forces him to abandon everything and start from scratch. He is now a self-made man and developer of one of the most sought after electric exotic automobiles in the world with a fortune greater than that of his birthright. Yet, he’d surrender it all—again—for the only man who’s still ever-present in his heart.

After a decade and entirely too much distance between them, Vann is suddenly released back into a world that has been nothing but cruel. Drayton never lost hope they would once again reunite and pick up where they left off, but Vann’s stubborn nature and repeated encounters with a heartbreaking world prove to be a challenge.

Vann needs to tap into his fighting spirit’s reservoir of strength and hope life doesn’t punish him for taking a chance. Only then will he realize his own value and feel worthy enough to finally have Drayton’s heart. And their chance at forever.

EP Review

4.5 Stars

I have really enjoyed The Men of the Halfway House series and this book just blew me away. I love a second-chance story and these books have all definitely been about second chances, but for Dray and Vann their second chance is a bit different, and I loved it. This story is low on angst but big on emotion and love and hope!

Dray and Vann met when they were teens and had an immediate connection. Neither of them really fit in, but they fit together. Dray was the rich, smart kid but really couldn’t read people. Vann is the tough, poor kid with a rough upbringing. They shouldn’t be friends but they are best friends and it becomes more, both knowing they’ve found their true loves. But tragedy strikes and Vann ends up in prison, serving what is supposed to be a life sentence. He doesn’t want Dray to see him like that but each week Dray writes to Vann, telling him about himself and sharing their memories. Dray isn’t about to give up on Vann and eventually he works for his release and ten years later Vann is out of prison, and hopefully back in Dray’s life.

For me, this was a story about hope; hope for love, for rebuilding their lives together and hope for the future. Vann struggles with his worth in life and man was it a powerful journey with him as he discovers who he is and how valuable he is. He’s always loved Dray but hasn’t always felt worthy of that love. I loved that Dray never lets him doubt that for a minute. And on the other side, Dray has his own insecurities that Vann so easily and naturally helps him overcome. These two are just amazing together, bringing out the best in each other.

Even though this story is low on the angst it still carries so much emotion. Both Dray and Vann have been through so much, but these are two are so truly committed to each other it’s about working it out together. This is a book that will absolutely capture your heart and make you just fall in love! I think this story is a fantastic addition to this series and cannot wait for more! A definite must read!

“Emotionally, beautiful and inspiring” – Amanda L Amazon Reviewer

“A great addition to this series. One of the most romantic books I’ve read this year.” – Bayou Book Junkie

“Overall…Their story is beautiful, heartbreaking, inspiring, sexy, and moving.” – Two Book Pushers

“C’mon,” Drayton said, tugging Vann by the hand. After breakfast and a countertop quickie, they had immediately returned to the bedroom and had been hibernating there since. He had no objection to spending all day in bed, but he had a surprise for Vann and couldn’t stand waiting any longer. “I want to show you the rest of the house.”
“But I like the bedroom.”
Drayton chuckled, pulling him up with more force. “We can come back after.”

“Fine,” Vann grumbled, finally sitting up on the bed with a dramatic pout.

“You’re cute when you don’t get your way.”

“Cute enough to stay in bed?” He waggled his eyebrows and petted the bed. “It’s really soft.”
Drayton leaned in and gave Vann a chaste kiss, jerking back quickly to avoid his grasp.

Vann’s laughter filled the room. “Damn. You’re still super-fast.” He reluctantly stood and stretched his arms over his head.

Drayton’s lips parted, enjoying the flex of muscles.

“Like what you see?” Vann asked, delivering a cocky grin as he seductively licked his lower lip. “Let’s get back in bed—”
Drayton threw his head back and laughed. “You’re still persistent as hell. C’mon. I want to show you something.”

“I want to show you something too.”

“This is important.” Drayton crossed his arms. “We can skim the other rooms but there’s one that’s special. It’s…yours.”

Vann sobered. “You’ve given me enough to cover every event for the rest of my life and then some. I don’t want—”
“It’s also for me. I’ll watch you while you use the room.”

“Hmm.” Vann pursed his lips. “Okay, you’ve got my attention.”
After a little more bargaining, Drayton finally lured Vann out of the bedroom and down the hallway. He opened the door to his office and stepped inside. “This is the room I’m usually in when I’m here.”
“Not anymore.”
He chuckled as they exited the office. They walked down the hall to the room he’d had converted into a gym.
“Damn, this is nice.” Vann checked the different weight options and looked at each of the machines.
“You’ve got everything here for all types of routines. And if you don’t like the view, you’ve got a TV.”
“The view’s beautiful.”

“Whatever we need to change out or add, we’ve still got space. I do a lot of thinking while I’m on the treadmill, so we’re not getting rid of that.”

Vann chuckled. “Okay.” He walked over to Drayton and leaned in for a slow kiss.
“Mmm. What was that for?”
“Is this the room I’ll use while you watch me? I promise I’ll make you sweat too.”
Jaime Reese is the alter ego of an artist who loves the creative process of writing, just not about herself. Fiction is far more interesting. She has a weakness for broken, misunderstood heroes and feels everyone deserves a chance at love and life. An avid fan of a happy ending, she believes those endings acquired with a little difficulty are more cherished.

IMG_5273I met Bianca in an elevator.

She was on her way to interview me when we got stuck.

The beautiful, raven-haired reporter assumed I was a delivery guy because of the way I was dressed.

She had no clue I was really Dex Truitt, the wealthy, successful businessman she’d dubbed “Mister Moneybags”—her afternoon appointment.

Bianca told me how much she hated Dex’s type—snobby, over educated, silver- spooned men who didn’t appreciate the simple things in life.

So, after the elevator finally started moving again, I cancelled the interview and let her believe I was someone I wasn’t—a bike messenger named Jay. I loved the way she looked at the fake me and didn’t want it to end.

I began dating her as “Jay”—all the while letting her interview the real me over email.

I didn’t expect that our chemistry online would be just as hot.

I didn’t expect the mess I’d gotten myself into.

I didn’t expect that Jay and Dex would fall in love with her.

And she was falling for two men.

Only, both men were me.

And when she found out, we were both going to lose her.

Nothing could have prepared me for that day. And I certainly wasn’t prepared for what came after.

All good things must come to an end, right?
Except our ending was one I didn’t see coming.

Where do I start, how do I start?! I want to say everything about this book but can’t, I won’t spoil anything, but my mind is blown! Without a doubt R.L. Griffin is one of my all time favorites, I love her words and what she can do with a story. For me she is the queen of ‘be careful what you wish for’ and she always keeps me on my toes. Bleed the Water Red is no exception to that, this story is powerful, it’s emotional and it is twisted!

Kate is a broken woman, she’s returning to her hometown even though it’s the last place she wants to be. At least she has her best friend Poppy and the water. She wants love, she wants to be happy but she’s all to familiar with pain, pain seems to follow her no matter where she is. There’s old love and new love in store for her, but not everyone is she thinks they are.

There is so much I want to say about this story, to break down all the moments and the characters but I can’t do that! There’s a slow build to the beginning of this story, really getting to know these characters and then the twists start coming and I couldn’t put it down! There is a brutal honesty to this story, a rawness you can feel. Life certainly doesn’t always go the way you planned it and even when it seems like it is lies can tear it to shreds.

I love what R.L. Griffin did with this story! She took me on a twisted, mind-fuck ride and it was brilliant! These characters are complex and phenomenal, even the ones you want to kill. Bleed the Water Red kept me guessing, R.L. Griffin shocked me to my core a few times, making me question my own sanity. This book must be experienced – lies, pain, honesty, lost love, found love and hope. Another amazing book from R.L. Griffin!

Synopsis

A glittering diamond, the promise of forever, and the hope that your future in-laws will move to a galaxy far, far away…sounds like a decadent recipe for eternal happiness, doesn’t it? All girls dream about their wedding day, fantasize about each and every gooey-delicious detail. It’s so easy to get scooped by the champagne bubbles and swallowed by our dreams.

But we all know the magical path toward happily ever after is not always sprinkled with pixie dust. Sometimes, we stumble over our plans for a perfect future and choke on the words promising forever. We watch the path take a defiant turn away from our blissful paradise because everybody has secrets, and skeletons, and fears.

And sometimes, being drunk in love isn’t always enough.

4 Stars
Oh man, I had a lot of fun reading this collection of stories. They are fun, naughty and sometimes just a downright tease, but I definitely enjoyed them all. There were some that were sweet and just made me smile and others that steamed up my kindle! All of these are quick reads but yet I felt like I got to know these characters and their stories. This is a great collection of stories benefiting an amazing cause.
There were so many stories in this anthology that it’s difficult to review each of them individually so I’d love just share my overall impression. I really enjoyed them all, but I definitely had some favorite moments. Entice by AD Justice amused me the whole way through and man did I just love Justin and can easily say I need more of their story! Another favorite was easily Stripped Bare by Melissa Collins – LOVED IT!
Overall, these are great, fun reads to support an amazing cause. Be prepared though, some are teasers for full novels and they’ll definitely have you adding books to your TBR list immediately!
