Jerico is about to meet two figures from his past.

One filled with love, the other consumed by vengeance.

Blurb

The coastal town of Nyemouth is the perfect location for celebrity chef Jerico Osman to fulfil a lifetime ambition. With it’s stunning harbour and brisk holiday trade, there’s no better place for him to open his first restaurant. It’s a dream that has been a decade in the making. But there’s another attraction in Nyemouth, one Jerico was completely unaware of.

Andy Quinn is content with his life. He has a great job managing Quay House, the popular waterfront hotel, and a peaceful home with a cat called Patches. Andy spent his twenties working in the cruise industry, exploring the world and has finally settled in his home town of Nyemouth. Those years at sea were a time of adventure and discovery, including a ship bound romance with a young Jerico. After fifteen years, Andy doubts the famous chef will even remember him, but from the moment they reconnect, the time they spent apart falls away.

Andy isn’t the only figure from Jerico’s past. A week before the restaurant is due to open, an act of reckless sabotage puts everything he cares about in danger, including Andy. Jerico has made an enemy, someone who will stop at nothing to see his long-realised dream become a nightmare. As a plan for vengeance is played out, who will survive until the end?

Fall in love with compelling new characters and rediscover some old favourites in the fifth and final instalment of the Jagged Shores series.

4 Stars

As a big fan of second chance stories I was really looking forward to this book and it definitely delivered, especially because it’s a surprise second chance. It’s a story of rekindling and rediscovering a great love that is fun to get swept up in, but there’s also a good amount of mystery and suspense because someone is out to stop Jerico from finding happiness.

Jerico and Andy had a fling back in their younger days when they worked on cruise ships together and drifted apart as their jobs took them in different directions. They never expected to see each other again or that their connection would be even stronger that it had once been, but it definitely is and now both men are old enough to know what and who they really want.

Jerico has moved to Nyemouth to open his dream restaurant and that just so happens to be Andy’s hometown and where he’s lived and worked for years. Andy knows that Jerico is town, he’s now a famous celebrity chef after all but it’s a complete surprise to Jerico when Andy comes by to say hello. Jerico is thrilled to see Andy again and both men find themselves ready to explore the connection they still feel and see if they can possibly build a future together.

I really enjoyed this book, it has a great mix of romance and suspense and had me hooked right from the start. The connection between Jerico and Andy feels so natural and I loved that their romance is so easy and strong. That can’t be said for the whole storyline though, someone is after Jerico and Andy too since he’s now connected to Jerico and it seems like they will stop at nothing to destroy everything. It was fun to follow that side of the story as well and added just the right amount of drama. Overall, I definitely enjoyed this book, I loved seeing Andy and Jerico and their love for each other and I even enjoyed that there’s an evil villain thrown in. Definitely a recommended read!

Excerpt

The evenings in Nyemouth were beautiful in the summer, when the blue sky was transformed to the most startling shades of purple, pink and red. It was Andy’s favourite time of the year, and tonight, it was even better, as he walked the South Point cliff with Jerico.

“It reminds me of all those sunsets we saw when we were at sea,” Jerico remarked.

Andy nodded his agreement. “I come up here a lot when I have the time, if I get finished at the hotel early enough. It helps me to relax. At this time of year, there’s nothing I like more.”

“It seems like you’ve always been drawn to the sea.”

“Mmm, probably. I grew up at the coast, worked on ships. I can’t imagine ever being far away from it.”

He was aware of Jerico watching him and tried to keep his gaze on the path ahead, though the temptation to turn and feast his own eyes was huge. Instead, he filled his lungs with the salty air coming from the water. Up here, the sticky heat of the hotel and the town centre was forgotten.

“What did you do?” Jerico asked. “After we lost touch. You have me at a disadvantage. You can find out about me online, everything I’ve ever done is there. But you, apart from your professional CV, there’s nothing.”

Now Andy could not resist looking at him, raising a bemused eyebrow. “So, you’ve been cyber-stalking me?”

“Doesn’t everyone?”

His brown skin looked glorious in the evening light. Andy’s mouth was dry. Jerico looked more handsome than he’d ever known him. How had they come to be here, after all this time? Andy knew he wasn’t dreaming. This was very real.

He wet his lips. “It’s a similar story to your own. I kept working at sea until I was around thirty.”

“Doing the same as before? Excursions and tours?”

“For a while, yes. But when I moved to another cruise company, an opportunity arose to join the hotel management side of the ship, and I found I enjoyed that even more. I became Deputy Hotel Manager after just two years. I loved being on the ships. I’m so glad I did all that. For a young guy in his twenties to travel the world and see all those places, how many people are lucky enough to do that?”

Jerico nodded. “It was great, though I don’t miss the force-eleven gales and ten-metre waves.”

Andy laughed. “Yeah, I think I’ve pushed those to the back of my mind and just remember the calm waters and sunsets.”

“I remember some really bad nights, trying to sing and dance while the stage was going up and down beneath my feet.” He gave a dramatic shudder and chuckled.

“But look at it now,” Andy said, gesturing to the peaceful North Sea. Tonight, there wasn’t even a white cap to ruffle its surface. “When I see it like this, I do miss being out there.”

“Would you ever go back? To working on the ships?”

“Nah. Been there, done that. I’m happy here. I’ve got my dream job and my family close by. I’ve seen almost all the world has to offer, so now I’m content to stay home. How about you?”

“I’ve done a couple of themed culinary cruises in the last few years—guest speaking and cookery demonstrations, that kind of thing. It’s a lot different on the other side. The guest staterooms are a lot nicer than those tiny crew cabins we had to stay in.”

“I’ll bet. That’s something I’ve never done, experiencing a cruise ship from a passenger perspective. I imagine it’s a different world from what we were used to.”

“Yeah, but when you’re young, you don’t care, do you? You just need a place to sleep and shag. They could have put me in a cupboard, and I’d have been happy.” He gave Andy a flirtatious wink.

“I remember what you were like, all right.”

They paused and stood side by side and looking out to sea together. For a moment, Andy lost himself in those memories…of standing on the deck of a ship or the shores of exotic countries with Jerico. Were those the best days of his life? No, he decided. The best days were still ahead of him. Be positive and keep moving forward.

It had gone eight o’clock. “I’m getting hungry,” he said. “Do you fancy something to eat?”

“Starving,” Jerico said. “What do you suggest?”

Well, this is one of those book where you finish and think ‘what the hell did I just read?!’ It was twisty and full of surprises and I really liked it! I really liked that Britney King kept me on my toes, had me feeling one way about the characters and then that all changes in one quick moment. You don’t know who to like or who to trust or who you hope gets hit by a bus.

With a book like this I don’t want to give anything away so I don’t want to say much about the actual plot or characters, it’s really something that should just be experienced. I will say that though that this book kept me thoroughly entertained and constantly wondering what could possibly happen next. The twists truly surprised me, more than once and the ending left me asking WTF?! I really did enjoy this read and always look forward to whatever twisted adventure awaits when I pick up something from Britney King. If you’re a fan of thrillers, this is one you’ll definitely want to check out.

Blog Tour & 5 Star Review: The Player by Felice Stevens

The Player, an enemies to lovers MM romance from Felice Stevens is available now for you to devour!

Cover Designer: Reese Dante

Blurb:

Friday night lights hide more than they reveal…

When retired NFL superstar Keller Williams returns to his small town to coach his old high school football team, he’s surprised how much he enjoys being out of the limelight and on the field with the kids. Even more surprising is his immediate attraction to the father of one of his players—single dad Niall Harper.

Problem number one: Niall Harper isn’t gay.

Problem number two: Keller isn’t out to the world.

Problem number three: Niall hates his guts. And Keller has no idea why.

High school librarian Niall Harper has always done the right thing. Except be true to himself. Divorced and raising his teenaged son, Niall is dismayed to discover the new football coach is none other than his long-ago Friday night fantasy and nemesis. Not that it matters—Keller doesn’t remember him. It’s nothing new; Niall has always been easy to forget. Now Keller wants to be friends. And more. Niall can’t deny the annoying man makes him laugh and feel things he’d only dreamed possible. But would a player like Keller be satisfied with a regular guy like him?

Being together is more than complicated, but they are willing to take the risk. Niall reveals he’s dating his son’s coach, and Keller comes out to the team, his fans, the press, and small-town gossips. Neither is prepared for the fallout, but that doesn’t stop them. It’s time to throw the Hail Mary pass of a lifetime and win the game of forever. And they’re ready.

5 Stars

I absolutely loved this book and loved Keller! He was so swoony and loveable to me and he just owned my heart! I really loved Niall too and thought he was a great match for Keller, you know once they got past their past.

Keller is a former NFL player who has returned to his hometown to coach the high school football team. He’s trying to rebuild his life after a serious injury and this seems like the best move for him. He is gay but it’s not public knowledge. Niall is a divorced high school librarian at the same school he went to and he’s focused on his job and raising his 15 year old son. He too is gay, but very much in the closet. Only his ex-wife knows his true feelings but it’s not something he acts on. Keller and Niall went to school together, but definitely weren’t friends, in fact in was Keller’s teammates that made Niall’s life absolutely miserable with all of their tormenting and bullying. So imagine Niall’s surprise when he happens to see Keller in a local bar and Keller hits on him. Keller, well he doesn’t recognize who Niall is, only knows that’s he’s attracted to the man he sees in the bar. It’s got all the makings for a great story.

There was so much I loved about this book, especially how the relationship grows between Niall and Keller. Niall does not trust Keller at first, at all, and there definitely some things they need to work through, especially Niall’s feelings and the hurt from his past, but they do and they do it together and that’s really my favorite thing about these two. They figure things out together, no big misunderstanding fights or drama, it’s more about how they grow together and fall head over heels for each other in the process.

I also really liked how things build with Niall and his family and his relationship with Keller, especially given that Keller is his son’s coach. I loved the approach they take and how they stand by each other, and that becomes the whole family, not just Niall and Keller. There’s also a great element of accepting yourself, those around you and loving yourself. We get to see that in so many of these characters. Another fantastic read from Felice Stevens that just made my heart melt with happiness and love for Keller and Niall and the life and love they find together.

CHASE

Football is my life.

Ever since I was little, my dream has been to play in the NFL. Now, I’m one step closer—the star Quarterback for the GSU Koalas. But I’m not exactly the studious type—books and I don’t really get along—and if I can’t find a way to get my grades up, I’ll be kissing my football career goodbye.

With the risk of being benched looming over my head, I hire a tutor to get me back on track. When we meet up for our first session, I’m not prepared for Gabe Miller. He’s the sexiest man I’ve ever met. I feel an instant connection with him despite our differences, but when I get up the nerve to ask him out, he turns me down.

Now I’m determined to come up with a foolproof game plan to prove that I’m worth taking a chance on. Losing isn’t an option, because if there’s one thing Chase Anderson is good at, it’s winning.

GABRIEL

What’s the big deal about sports, anyway?

Video games and reading are much more my style. When I’m hired to tutor the school’s star Quarterback, I figure it’s just another job. Then he asks me out, and I’m completely taken aback. Why would he want to date me? We come from two different worlds. There’s no way a relationship between us would work, and I’m not one for casual flings.

That doesn’t stop Chase Anderson from pursuing me and wearing down my walls. When I finally let him in, I know that there’s a strong possibility I’ll eventually lose him. Chase is destined for the NFL and when he gets drafted, I’ll be left behind without a second thought.

Even though I know I won’t be able to hold onto Chase for forever, I fall for him all the same. In the end, will fate take away my newfound love, or will we get the happily ever after I’ve only read about in books.

Jenn Review

4 Stars

The jock and the tutor, opposites attract and I am totally here for it! I’m a big fan of the jock/nerd romances and Laura John definitely delivered for me. I thought this was a sweet and fun read and I really enjoyed it from start to finish. Chase is this big adorable goof football player you just can’t help but like, he’s so unapologetically who he is. Gabriel was just as likeable for me, he’s this genius who spends spare time tutoring other students. These two couldn’t be more different but they also couldn’t be more perfect for each other.

I loved the romance between them, it’s sweet and genuine and I liked that it wasn’t overly angsty. It definitely has a more lighthearted feel and I liked that for these characters. Chase feels a strong attraction to Gabe, something new to him and he goes after it. Yes, Gabe is a bit more reluctant but also feels something special for Chase and that’s what it’s really about, building their relationship and finding love. Overall a very fun, sweet romance that will make you smile and leave you with a happy heart!

Mark and Logan are super cute and super sweet and I enjoyed their story! This is a short and sweet story, but as usual with an Andrew Grey book it’s got a good amount feels packed into it!

Mark is a hockey player who takes a rough hit to the head during a game and feels the effects on his drive home. Lucky for him EMT Logan comes to his rescue and he just so happens to be a hockey, and Mark fan. There’s a definite connection between them right from the start and begin a friendship that quickly becomes more. Their connection feels natural and genuine right from the start but it doesn’t necessarily mean smooth sailing for them as they explore a relationship.

Mark is dad to his young nephew Timmy after his brother’s passing and while he has his parents there to support and help him his mom isn’t the most understanding when it comes to his life and she makes things difficult. Mark is also facing the possibility of a move if he gets called up to the NHL. He also knows that Logan is happy where he is and he’d be asking a lot of him if things continue between them.

I really liked the relationship that develops between Mark and Logan, they are so sweet together and they are such a good fit. Mark is so great with Timmy and Logan fits in so easily as well. There isn’t any drama between Mark and Logan, more figuring out challenges together, and I found that I liked that for them. I liked how their story came together and how they find their happiness together. It’s definitely a feel-good, heartwarming story!

Braxton—the emo kid, the loner, the cynical wallflower with an attitude. It’s no secret that I’ve never quite fit in.

But it’s glaringly obvious now that I’ve moved to this Podunk small town that seems to run entirely on sugar, friendliness, and cheer. (And cows, an ungodly number of cows.)

I hate it—this place where everyone knows everyone, and I’m still the outsider.

But who wants to fit in anyways? I’ve never really tried, never even thought I wanted to… until I met him.

Jimbob is living his best life out here, farming the fields of Kansas, well and truly happy. And I just don’t get it. His charming smiles, playful winks, and easy-going attitude infuriate me, but I can’t look away. He’s like a bright, sunny day sweeping through my prickly hailstorm.

And I’m so utterly confused, because I’ve never felt this way before. There’s just something about Jimbob that makes me want to try.

Makes me want to belong.

Makes me want to put down roots in the glow of his sunshine.

Jenn Review

3.5 – 4 Stars

This was a sweet, cute read! It’s a low angst story that features an opposites attract and grumpy/sunshine and I thought overall it was fun.

Jimbob is the epitome of sunshine and sweetness, and it’s not just an act, it’s who he genuinely is, just a great and happy guy. He loves his life, the work he does and his town. Braxton on the other end, all grumpy, especially at first. He doesn’t fit in in small town Kansas with his tattoos and piercings and his emo attitude. He hasn’t had the easiest life, especially when it comes to his relationship with his mother. He’s very protective of her, but she doesn’t always make the best choices and often puts the blame on Braxton so it’s easy to see that he doesn’t have healthy loving relationships in his life. That is until he catches Jimbob’s attention and decides they should be friends, and more.

Again, this is a sweet story and Jimbob with all his sunshine breaks through Braxton’s walls and shows him he can be happy and it can be real and lasting. I liked how their relationship develops, it’s clear that they are attracted to each other but that’s a new thing for Braxton. He has spent his life thinking he’s straight but there’s something about Jimbob that gives him all the feels. I thought Jimbob does a good job setting the pace of things, not rushing too fast but also showing how good and special things can be between them. He also shows him that happiness and love don’t have to be temporary and it’s ok to have hope in the future.

Overall, I enjoyed this book, it was a good mix of humor, heart and heat. Jimbob and Braxton are great together and I really liked seeing them both find happiness. Definitely something to pick up if you’re in the mood for lighthearted and feel good and I’m certainly curious to check out more of this series.

The Heart of Smoke from K Webster is officially live so snag your copy today of this dark, MM Romance today!

Blurb:

From USA Today Bestselling Author K Webster comes a new dark age-gap, enemies-to-lovers MM captive romance!

He’s a mysterious recluse with an unhealthy obsession with his therapist.

He doesn’t want help… He just wants him.

Love is for those who deserve it. I certainly don’t. The person I loved most in this world died in my arms decades ago and I am to blame. I’ll forever be tormented by what-ifs where I was Mom’s hero instead of this repulsive, mask-wearing beast I’ve ultimately become.

All that’s left of my heart is black smoke—suffocating and toxic. I’m nothing but a shadow of a man, locked in my dark fortress of a home, away from people and hidden in my carefully walled-up world.

My family is all I have to live for. Somehow, they look past the fact I survived when Mom didn’t. Like it’s not my fault. It’s also why I’ll protect them with every single fiber of my being.

Even from him.

Tate Prince has been paid by my father to infiltrate our family. Invited not just into our homes, but into our past, our heartaches, and even our minds. Dad thinks this young man—a therapist with a captivating grin—is the key to repairing all the damage we’ve sustained over the years.

But I know better.

I can see through Tate’s friendly disposition and easygoing nature.

In his eyes are dark secrets that haunt him like ghosts from another life. He’s not as perfect as he seems. Underneath his mask of smiles are ugly truths I’m desperate to uncover.

And I will uncover them.

If that means keeping him under lock and key where I can watch his every move, I will.

It’s not captivity if he’s being paid, right?

However, when I start unraveling his life, I learn there’s a lot more to Tate than meets the eye. The more I discover, the more obsessed I become. My heart, the dusty, charred, still-smoking useless organ sparks to life making me come to a startling realization. I want him.

I’m not the only one who feels this way, though. Tate’s biggest secret is he already has a monster in his life. A terrible, spiteful monster—one who’ll stop at nothing to get what he wants.

But I’m uglier, nastier, and a hell of a lot more vicious. I may have failed to save my mother, but I will not fail this time.

Tate is mine.

This is Book #3 in the Shameful Secrets series that is a complete mm standalone novel with a happily ever after.

Jenn Review

5 Stars

This is the first book I’ve read in this series and it was quite the introduction to this family but HOLY WOW this book just completely captured my attention, I couldn’t put it down and just needed more of Jude and Tate! It is intense and raw and the Park family brings a good amount of taboo, but it’s also passionate, healing, loving and beautiful!

Tate Prince is a great therapist, but he’s got a lot of his own demons he’s dealing with thanks to an abusive ex turned stalker. He’s hired to be a live in therapist for the Park family, mainly focusing on Jude. He thinks it’s the perfect solution, a way to make money and be hidden for a while. What he discovers is a whole world he never expected, a family with a lot of twisted secrets and a man who hides his face behind a mask a lives in a world of pain and guilt.

When Jude was a teenager he had it all, a star football player expected to go pro and living the life, that is until the fire that took his mom and almost took his life. He’s lived with the pain and scars of that event, along with the deep guilt of not being able save his mom for years. He stays secluded in his house on the family property limiting contact with his family. When he learns about his father’s plans for the therapist he’s completely against it, that it until he sees Tate.

This book was a wild ride, there’s a lot of drama, angst, darkness and mystery and it completely consumed me! I loved Tate and Jude together, seeing Tate chip away at Jude’s walls bit by bit and while a lot of it broke my heart, I loved seeing the healing process. There is also so much passion between these two – it’s intense and so hot and just cannot be denied. It’s like these two are just meant to be and truly need each other. There is also a lot to the plot of this book, especially concerning the other Park family members then you add in Tate’s stalker ex. It definitely kept my attention, I was always wanting to know what was going to happen next. It also has a great twist, one I didn’t see coming, it totally got me and I loved it! This really was a fantastic read, again I felt consumed by these characters and their story and absolutely loved them! Tate and Jude are unique, they are broken but beautiful and so worthy of true love and happiness and I loved seeing them find that together!

Neel Batra is good–no, great–at his job. A consummate professional despite all the chaos of managing one of the most notorious party boy royals in Europe, he never lets Prince Thibault get under his skin. Well, almost never. And he certainly doesn’t entertain any thoughts or feelings that are less than professional. Especially after an image rehab campaign sees Neel and the prince working in closer conditions than ever.

Prince Thibault d’Archimbault may be a disaster, but even he knows certain things–and people–are off limits. Even if he can’t help noticing his assistant’s pretty eyes, and how fun it is to annoy him. Can he practice self-control for once in his life and stay out of Neel Batra’s way, even while they work together on cleaning up Thibault’s reputation? Or will things get distinctly … messy?

4 Stars

This was a fun and charming story, I’ve been in a bit of royal mood lately so I was definitely excited about this book and I did really enjoy Thibault and Neel. They are a great combination – high strung personal assistant meets charming, party-boy wild child prince, but there really is a lot more to both of these men and behind the drama they find a real connection.

Neel is used to cleaning up Prince Thibault’s messes both behind the scenes and to the public and there have been many. He works very hard to be successful and has always made a point to keep his personal life just that – personal. But there’s something about Thibault that gets to him, makes him feels and that’s dangerous for him, especially as the two start spending more time together and he starts to see a different side to the prince. Thibault comes across as very shallow and vain, living his life one party to the next, but behind his party boy façade is a man dealing with a lot of loneliness and abandonment issues. It’s easy for him to be the flippant wild child than to admit how he really feels. When the Queen demands that he clean up his image he comes up with a plan to show his interest in his community and plans events visiting local businesses and exploring the area. Those plans include having Neel right by his side.

I really liked these two together, their connection feels very deep and genuine and despite their differences they bring out the best in each other. They are very easy to root for! But, even though they’re definitely growing feelings for each other, Neel is determined to keep whatever is happening between them a secret, he’s not out and has no plans on changing that. I really felt for him because it’s easy to see how much these two care about each other. Of course, life doesn’t work that way though and their secrets are exposed and it will test everything both men are feeling.

There was a lot I liked about this book, especially the building of the relationship between Neel and Thibault. I loved seeing them both soften and open up to each other, I felt like it was healing to them both. I struggled a bit with the drama side and the separation that seemed to go on too long a bit for me and then the reunion, while it made my heart happy felt rushed. But, overall, I really enjoyed their story and loved seeing them getting the love and happiness they both deserved.

Excerpt

“I don’t have a car.” Three years working for the prince, and the man knew nothing about him. Typical. “I rode my bicycle.”

“Of course you did. Doing your duty, right? Protecting the environment and all that.” Thibault had a smug little smile on his face, like Neel had completely failed to surprise him. “Doesn’t it ever get tiring?”

“What gets tiring is lack of sleep. Which is why I’m leaving now,” Neel said, making no move to get up.

“Stay here for a bit. Have a drink with me. I’ll get Viola to drive you home if you’re worried about biking under the influence.”

“Absolutely not. You shouldn’t be out here, either.” Neel pointed a finger at him across the hot tub. “We’re starting your twelve-step plan or whatever it is tomorrow and you need your sleep, too. More than I do. You’ll be the one in the photos, and we can’t have you looking all gray and hungover.”

Thibault shrugged. His chest was flushed from the heat, his hair curling into his eyes. “Honestly? I couldn’t sleep either. I’m… I’m trying to take this seriously, Batra. Whether you believe me or not. And it’s making me nervous.” He poured a refill into the glass and held it out. “Come on. One drink. Just stay and… talk to me. Until I feel sleepy.”

The glass was sweaty with condensation as Neel took it from his hand. “I’m only drinking this so that you won’t,” he warned, and finished it in one gulp, before he could have any foolish thoughts about how Thibault’s mouth had been on the glass, his pink, pouty, irritating mouth–

“You, er,” said Thibault.

“We’ve all been to university, your highness,” Neel said archly.

“Yes, but you probably weren’t shooting 100-year Ankenbrandian pear brandy.”

Neel shrugged, feeling the red bloom of alcohol in his stomach, the tension beginning to seep out of his shoulders, his neck. “So, I’m to tell you a bedtime story now, is that it? Don’t recall it being part of my job description. But who knows what my job is at this point.”

Thibault took a swig from the bottle, then refilled Neel’s glass. “I guess I was just hoping that you had some plan for tomorrow. You’re so good at plans.”

Neel really ought to sip this one slowly, but he was enjoying how the over-excited clock in his head had finally started to tick down, and the stars were bright overhead and the mountains gleamed in the distance and Prince Thibault was glistening across from him like some male siren that had just emerged from the Aegean sea, and it was time, wasn’t it, that Neel told him exactly what he thought about all of this nonsense?

You are the one who came up with all of this. There is no plan. You’re petting kittens, for fucksake.”

“Right, but, what should I wear?”

Neel waved his hand in the air dismissively. “Something casual but expensive that shows off your chest. Do you really need me to tell you all this? Just pet the kittens and look cute. Why did you choose all of these things if you don’t even want to do them?”

Thibault ran a hand through his hair. “Well, I knew I needed to tell grandmother something. And they are things I wanted to do. Most of them. Some I chose because I knew they’d annoy you.”

“I thought so. Pour me another drink.”

“You sure you’re going to be all right? The water’s really hot, and you’ve had like four shots. I’m a heavy pourer.”

“You owe me, Thibault.”

The prince slid across the hot tub, and Neel flinched at the sudden hand on his forehead. “Hm, yeah, I don’t think so,” Thibault murmured. “You’re really warm.”

“Don’t pretend you care,” Neel said, holding himself as still as possible so he wouldn’t melt. “Don’t pretend to be responsible.”

“I’m not,” Thibault said. “But you are, and you’re going to be hating yourself if you’re too hungover to get a perfectly adorable picture of me and those cats tomorrow. C’mon, Batra, let’s get you up.” He hoisted Neel onto his feet. “Out we go. We’ve got a date with some baby kittens.”

“‘Baby kittens’ is redundant,” Neel said, and fainted.

The nomadic lifestyle of a wildlife photographer is perfect for Ren Stewart—he travels the world with no obligations, no place to call home. With time between assignments, he’s ready to leave the cold New York winter for sunny California. But twenty inches of snow on a layover means his flight’s canceled and he’s stranded. It’s going to be a long, lonely night at the airport waiting for the snow to melt.

Lucky for Ren, he meets a gorgeous man and they hit it off. Too bad they’ll have to go their separate ways.

Or will they?

Something in Schaeffer’s eyes suggests he might be up for sharing the last available hotel room…and the bed.

Airline pilot Schaeffer Morgan is used to being alone. It’s hard to have a relationship when you’re only home for a few days at a time. He’s learned to live with stolen moments of pleasure as well as bigoted remarks from coworkers who don’t know he’s gay.

When a family vacation brings him face-to-face with the man he spent two lust-filled days with in a hotel room—the man he thought he’d never see again—everything changes.

Their days and nights together lead to the possibility of something Ren only dreamed of as a foster child—a family and a place to call home—while Schaeffer begins to open up about his painful past. As their time together comes to a close, they want to keep the magic of what’s building between them. But with Ren away for months on assignment and Schaeffer’s busy schedule, is that wishful thinking?

One thing is for certain: neither of them wants to say goodbye.

This was such a sweet story that gave me all the feels, I loved Ren and Schaeffer and their unexpected journey! It starts out with a chance hookup between two pretty solitary and independent men and turns into an epic love story they just can’t walk away from.

Ren is a wildlife photographer who spends his time traveling and exploring remote areas to capture endangered animals. It’s a solitary life and he’s usually fine with that, it keeps him busy and keeps him from dwelling on his past. Schaeffer is a pilot so he too spends most of his time traveling. He spent time in the military and has had his share of traumatic experiences that haunt him. He’s also not out publicly or at work so that’s an additional secret he carries. These two meet in an airport during a major blizzard and once their flight gets canceled they end up sharing the last hotel room available. Their chemistry is undeniable so they decide to act on their attraction thinking it would be a one time hook up but once the snow clears a bit they find it impossible to say goodbye.

I really loved the connection between them, it feels very genuine and deep and despite how much they think they don’t want to get involved and be in a relationship it is exactly what they find themselves pushing for. They certainly face some challenges though, both of these men carry a lot of baggage and pain from the past and it’s hard for them to open up and share. They both come to realize that what they have found together is something truly special and not a love you can walk away from. that will ever have a goodbye. This was a very touching read and I loved seeing these two fall in love with each other and find the life together they both truly deserve!

This may be a quick read but there is a lot going on for Cade and Selby! Andrew Grey really packs in a lot without drawing out a story. I really enjoyed this book and especially loved seeing Selby find the love and family he deserves!

Cade is a paramedic who ends up reuniting with Selby, someone he knows from high school, when he responds to an accident Selby is involved in. He remembers him, especially the soft spot he had for him and helps him out when he discovers that the accident left him with a concussion and no one around to help him. Selby hasn’t had it easy, after coming out his father kicked him out and he’s been estranged from his whole family since then. He works hard to get by and provide for himself but he’s lonely and misses his family. He’s intrigued by seeing Cade again and the fact that he seems interested in him and is willing to help him, but his bad luck continues and the next day there’s a devastating fire at his family’s farm that changes everything. Selby finds himself taking care of his four younger brothers and sisters, dealing with a father in the hospital and little hope for his budding romance with Cade.

Again, this is a quick read but a lot happens and it’s really packed with a lot of emotion! I felt very much invested right from the start and was rooting for Selby and Cade along with Selby’s family! There’s a lot of trauma that this family is dealing with and I loved how Cade was by Selby’s side every step of the way. There’s no unnecessary drama there, just pure genuine love and support. It’s really a story about love, healing and the family we create around us. Sometimes the family we are given aren’t the best, we even see that with Cade and his family, but when you find the ones that become your family and do matter you build that and make that what is important. Overall, I really enjoyed this read and was very happy with how it all came together, it felt like a very fitting end and left me with a smile!
