Have you heard the expression “twelve times a groomsman, never a groom”? Neither had I… until it suddenly became clear that every man I dated found their One True Love in the person they dated after me.
Now I’m writing Best Man speeches for my former boyfriends twice a month, the “After Oscar” thing has become a legend, and I have finally accepted that Oscar Overton is nobody’s Happily Ever After.
Which is fine.
Between running my investment company, providing for Frank, my emotional support hedgehog, and keeping my enthusiastic family from getting in my business, my life is plenty busy. The last thing on my mind is a relationship.
Until Hugh Linzee.
One hot night with the gorgeous wedding photographer somehow turns into a text conversation I just can’t quit, but I’m determined to keep my distance. Hugh has ideas… ideas about romance and fireworks and capital-L love… and I care about him too much to let him get those ideas about me.
Fate keeps throwing us together, though. After an accidental all-night phone call and a convenient wedding run-in, suddenly I find myself agreeing to be his fake boyfriend, and distance quickly becomes a thing of the past.
But how long until Hugh figures out he’ll only get his HEA… After Oscar?

Oscar finally gets his HEA – but holy hell that is a hard earned HEA! I really loved Oscar and Hugh and together they are just perfection, even if it takes an especially long time for Oscar to come to the understanding that he truly is worthy of love. And I love that Hugh is the one to show him!

I thought this book had a lot of wonderful, highly amusing moments that actually had me giggling mixed with very real and raw moments of vulnerability. It was a great mix of emotions that made it very real and I felt like I really got to know these characters. Oscar may come across as flippant and fun loving, but he’s actually a very guarded man who wants love but doesn’t feel he deserves it. Hugh is the perfect match for him, he is a man who loves romance and love and believes in the HEA with his whole heart. These two may start off with what is supposed to be a hook-up but they can’t stay away from each other and they both discover that they don’t really want to try to stay away.

I truly enjoyed this journey with Oscar, Hugh and of course Frank. Even in the moments that made my heart ache, I loved them so much and just wanted them to find the happiness and love that they deserve. It was definitely an emotional ride though and not always easy but I will say that when it all comes together, when they both finally figure it out *CHEFS KISS* perfection and totally worth it!

As a fan of the Elite Bros I expected to like this book but it was so freaking good and these characters are just amazing! I was hooked right from the start and can say this book never let me go. I absolutely loved it!

I felt like this was such a unique look at neurodivergent representation and specifically Prism’s experience and how he lives his life. There were times when he absolutely broke my heart, I felt for him and the struggles he experienced, but then comes Arsen who is just the absolute perfect match for him in every way. He seems to have a true understanding of Prism and supports him and cares for him and I felt that so deep in my heart. It’s very difficult for Prism to let anyone in given his experiences in life but Arsen finds his way in and makes sure they fit. (One of my favorite quotes from the book!)

They definitely face challenges though and it’s not the ones they expect, and those challenges test whether they really should be together. But it’s their deep love and need for each other that wins, in an exceptional way. Again, I love and adored this book, it’s full of passion, love, intensity that will give you goosebumps and the very best found family out there. The Princess and the Bear and their journey will have a forever place in my heart. A definite must read.

This book just made me happy! I really loved George and Alan, along with Alan’s family and their story just got me right in the feels and I loved it! This was a quick, easy read but it was packed with emotion, really great characters and a storyline I was invested in right from the start.

George is the Duke of Northumberland, not a role he really wanted or thought he’d have but after his father and brothers’ passing, it’s now his. He doesn’t know what he plans to do in that role and is spending some time in the US to try and find himself. On his travels he finds himself stuck in small town during a blizzard where he also finds a dog and her puppies abandoned in the snow. Knowing he can’t leave them behind he puts them in his truck and stops by a store to get them some food. The young clerk takes pity on George and the dogs and offers them a room to help get them out of the blizzard. And so he meets Alan and his family and everything changes.

Alan is a rancher, working hard to keep his family’s ranch going to support his mother and brother and the last thing he needs is some mystery man in his house. But, quickly he learns that George is useful and willing to help while they are all snowed in together and the two develop and fast and easy friendship that turns into more just as fast. But even though their time is limited and they know it, it doesn’t keep real, deep feelings from developing.

For such a short read there really is a lot to this story! Alan and George couldn’t have led more different lives, but they find that they have quite a lot in common and really do work well together. They definitely have great chemistry and a great connection and I just felt like they were a perfect match. My heart hurt as they sorted through their feelings and the reality that George would be leaving, I was just rooting so hard for them. They both really have to figure out what they want from life and it’s not an easy decision but I really loved how they figured it out. It felt perfect for them and I loved seeing how it all came together. It felt like both of these men finally got to truly shine. I really did love this book, the characters and even the animals. It was fun and touching and absolutely heartwarming!

Blog Tour & 5 Star Review: The Player by Felice Stevens

The Player, an enemies to lovers MM romance from Felice Stevens is available now for you to devour!

Cover Designer: Reese Dante

Blurb:

Friday night lights hide more than they reveal…

When retired NFL superstar Keller Williams returns to his small town to coach his old high school football team, he’s surprised how much he enjoys being out of the limelight and on the field with the kids. Even more surprising is his immediate attraction to the father of one of his players—single dad Niall Harper.

Problem number one: Niall Harper isn’t gay.

Problem number two: Keller isn’t out to the world.

Problem number three: Niall hates his guts. And Keller has no idea why.

High school librarian Niall Harper has always done the right thing. Except be true to himself. Divorced and raising his teenaged son, Niall is dismayed to discover the new football coach is none other than his long-ago Friday night fantasy and nemesis. Not that it matters—Keller doesn’t remember him. It’s nothing new; Niall has always been easy to forget. Now Keller wants to be friends. And more. Niall can’t deny the annoying man makes him laugh and feel things he’d only dreamed possible. But would a player like Keller be satisfied with a regular guy like him?

Being together is more than complicated, but they are willing to take the risk. Niall reveals he’s dating his son’s coach, and Keller comes out to the team, his fans, the press, and small-town gossips. Neither is prepared for the fallout, but that doesn’t stop them. It’s time to throw the Hail Mary pass of a lifetime and win the game of forever. And they’re ready.

5 Stars

I absolutely loved this book and loved Keller! He was so swoony and loveable to me and he just owned my heart! I really loved Niall too and thought he was a great match for Keller, you know once they got past their past.

Keller is a former NFL player who has returned to his hometown to coach the high school football team. He’s trying to rebuild his life after a serious injury and this seems like the best move for him. He is gay but it’s not public knowledge. Niall is a divorced high school librarian at the same school he went to and he’s focused on his job and raising his 15 year old son. He too is gay, but very much in the closet. Only his ex-wife knows his true feelings but it’s not something he acts on. Keller and Niall went to school together, but definitely weren’t friends, in fact in was Keller’s teammates that made Niall’s life absolutely miserable with all of their tormenting and bullying. So imagine Niall’s surprise when he happens to see Keller in a local bar and Keller hits on him. Keller, well he doesn’t recognize who Niall is, only knows that’s he’s attracted to the man he sees in the bar. It’s got all the makings for a great story.

There was so much I loved about this book, especially how the relationship grows between Niall and Keller. Niall does not trust Keller at first, at all, and there definitely some things they need to work through, especially Niall’s feelings and the hurt from his past, but they do and they do it together and that’s really my favorite thing about these two. They figure things out together, no big misunderstanding fights or drama, it’s more about how they grow together and fall head over heels for each other in the process.

I also really liked how things build with Niall and his family and his relationship with Keller, especially given that Keller is his son’s coach. I loved the approach they take and how they stand by each other, and that becomes the whole family, not just Niall and Keller. There’s also a great element of accepting yourself, those around you and loving yourself. We get to see that in so many of these characters. Another fantastic read from Felice Stevens that just made my heart melt with happiness and love for Keller and Niall and the life and love they find together.

Blog Tour & 5 Star Review: The Heart of Smoke by K Webster

The Heart of Smoke from K Webster is officially live so snag your copy today of this dark, MM Romance today!

Blurb:

From USA Today Bestselling Author K Webster comes a new dark age-gap, enemies-to-lovers MM captive romance!

He’s a mysterious recluse with an unhealthy obsession with his therapist.

He doesn’t want help… He just wants him.

Love is for those who deserve it. I certainly don’t. The person I loved most in this world died in my arms decades ago and I am to blame. I’ll forever be tormented by what-ifs where I was Mom’s hero instead of this repulsive, mask-wearing beast I’ve ultimately become.

All that’s left of my heart is black smoke—suffocating and toxic. I’m nothing but a shadow of a man, locked in my dark fortress of a home, away from people and hidden in my carefully walled-up world.

My family is all I have to live for. Somehow, they look past the fact I survived when Mom didn’t. Like it’s not my fault. It’s also why I’ll protect them with every single fiber of my being.

Even from him.

Tate Prince has been paid by my father to infiltrate our family. Invited not just into our homes, but into our past, our heartaches, and even our minds. Dad thinks this young man—a therapist with a captivating grin—is the key to repairing all the damage we’ve sustained over the years.

But I know better.

I can see through Tate’s friendly disposition and easygoing nature.

In his eyes are dark secrets that haunt him like ghosts from another life. He’s not as perfect as he seems. Underneath his mask of smiles are ugly truths I’m desperate to uncover.

And I will uncover them.

If that means keeping him under lock and key where I can watch his every move, I will.

It’s not captivity if he’s being paid, right?

However, when I start unraveling his life, I learn there’s a lot more to Tate than meets the eye. The more I discover, the more obsessed I become. My heart, the dusty, charred, still-smoking useless organ sparks to life making me come to a startling realization. I want him.

I’m not the only one who feels this way, though. Tate’s biggest secret is he already has a monster in his life. A terrible, spiteful monster—one who’ll stop at nothing to get what he wants.

But I’m uglier, nastier, and a hell of a lot more vicious. I may have failed to save my mother, but I will not fail this time.

Tate is mine.

This is Book #3 in the Shameful Secrets series that is a complete mm standalone novel with a happily ever after.

5 Stars

This is the first book I’ve read in this series and it was quite the introduction to this family but HOLY WOW this book just completely captured my attention, I couldn’t put it down and just needed more of Jude and Tate! It is intense and raw and the Park family brings a good amount of taboo, but it’s also passionate, healing, loving and beautiful!

Tate Prince is a great therapist, but he’s got a lot of his own demons he’s dealing with thanks to an abusive ex turned stalker. He’s hired to be a live in therapist for the Park family, mainly focusing on Jude. He thinks it’s the perfect solution, a way to make money and be hidden for a while. What he discovers is a whole world he never expected, a family with a lot of twisted secrets and a man who hides his face behind a mask a lives in a world of pain and guilt.

When Jude was a teenager he had it all, a star football player expected to go pro and living the life, that is until the fire that took his mom and almost took his life. He’s lived with the pain and scars of that event, along with the deep guilt of not being able save his mom for years. He stays secluded in his house on the family property limiting contact with his family. When he learns about his father’s plans for the therapist he’s completely against it, that it until he sees Tate.

This book was a wild ride, there’s a lot of drama, angst, darkness and mystery and it completely consumed me! I loved Tate and Jude together, seeing Tate chip away at Jude’s walls bit by bit and while a lot of it broke my heart, I loved seeing the healing process. There is also so much passion between these two – it’s intense and so hot and just cannot be denied. It’s like these two are just meant to be and truly need each other. There is also a lot to the plot of this book, especially concerning the other Park family members then you add in Tate’s stalker ex. It definitely kept my attention, I was always wanting to know what was going to happen next. It also has a great twist, one I didn’t see coming, it totally got me and I loved it! This really was a fantastic read, again I felt consumed by these characters and their story and absolutely loved them! Tate and Jude are unique, they are broken but beautiful and so worthy of true love and happiness and I loved seeing them find that together!

Hurt/Comfort
Small town
Primal Play
Close Proximity
MC Raised in a Cult
Town Outcast
Obsessive MCs

One feels he’s not worthy of love. The other fears he doesn’t know how. But the sizzling chemistry between them has both tempted to explore the unknown.

Cyrus
I was intrigued by Crow at first glance. Who wouldn’t be? He’s a mountain of a man, who was raised in a cult and now lives secluded in the wilderness. But the draw I feel to him goes beyond mild interest. When his intense gaze falls my way, it feels like he can see into my soul, to my deepest yearnings and desires.

I took a bold chance venturing to his mountain uninvited. But I can’t help myself. Despite Crow’s dangerous facade, I feel at home when I’m near him. I’ve never felt wanted or needed…until the mountain man took me in his arms.

Crow
The mountain is my home, the only place that truly suits me. I reveled in my solitude…until Cyrus showed up looking as lonely as I felt. The warmth in his gaze made me welcome someone into my home and my heart when I never have before.

The way he smells. The way he feels. I come apart with his every touch. The past haunts us both. Yet when we’re together, the weight of it is manageable. Cyrus is mine, and I don’t ever want to let him go. Still, I fear that eventually he’ll want to leave the mountain, and for the first time in my life, I don’t want to be alone.

On the Mountain deals with depictions of mental illness, past substance abuse, an MC who was raised in a cult, childhood abuse/neglect and trauma. For a full list of warnings, please use the look-inside feature to read the content warning at the beginning of the book.

5 Stars

Wow – this is a book that totally surprised me, in the best possible way! I love a good hurt/comfort read and that’s what I was expecting with this and it was that but it was so much more. This book was intense and raw and emotional and I just couldn’t get enough of Crow and Cyrus. It’s not an easy read, these two have been through so much pain and faced so many struggles and it’s really laid out for the reader to see and feel, but it is so very worth it. These two have a journey of discovery, healing and ultimately such a beautiful love and happiness that they truly deserve.

This is one of those books that I don’t want to say a whole lot about in regards to the actual story because I think it really just needs to be experienced. I will say though that I loved the unique relationship that builds between Crow and Cyrus and how they find and embrace what works for them. To others it may look weird or broken but it’s what they need and this really is their story. It’s heartbreaking yes, but it’s powerful and beautiful and it completely captured my heart.

About HE’S NOT MY TYPE:

Word to the wise, never become roommates with a girl you’ve been pining over for the better part of a year.

You’re probably wondering why I would do such a thing? Well, I didn’t.

It was my teammates.

The moment they found out Blakely White was single, they took it upon themselves to play cupid and instruct me on how I should win her over.

Don’t wear a shirt around her.
Make her dinner.
Lightly touch her shoulder when you say goodbye.

I’m so flustered, so overwhelmed, so madly in love with this woman who barely notices me, that I lose control of the situation and make one huge mistake: I offer to be her fake date for a wedding so she can make her ex jealous.

That means, for one whole night I get a free pass with her. I get to hold her, dance with her, kiss her…stare at her from across the room like she’s my entire world because she has been for months now.

But when the night comes to an end, I’m faced with two options: bring her back to my bedroom and show her how I really feel, or let her walk away, succumbing to the fact that I very well might not be her type.

Well this book was absolutely fantastic and I completely LOVED Halsey! With every book I think I’ve found my favorite Agitator and then Meghan makes me fall for another one! Halsey seriously owned my heart and Blakely is the perfect girl for him!

I really loved how their story develops, it’s full of humor and so much heart! I felt like this was less angsty than many of Meghan’s books but I felt like that was needed for Halsey! He’s been through so much already, he doesn’t need unnecessary drama and pain. And that’s not to say there aren’t emotional moments, this book is full of them and they are real and raw but it’s not drama for the sake of drama!

It’s very clear how Halsey feels about Blakely but I really loved seeing how Blakely’s feelings develop. She goes from roommate/brother view to holy hell he rocks my world! It’s also so beautiful to see how these two support each other and how deep their love for each other really is.

Overall this was a fantastic book from start to finish! It had me laughing, swooning and rooting so hard for Halsey! I really adored the whole group and loved seeing how the guys rallied around Halsey and showed their love for him! He’s such a great guy and deserves all the love and happiness and again, Blakely is just the perfect match for him! A definite must read and now I’m waiting for Posey’s book!

Erin Mallon and Connor Crais narrate this sexy, roommates-to-lovers romance in duet with a full cast including Jason Clarke, Teddy Hamilton, JF Harding, and Kelsey Navarro!

TOMMASO

The furniture district is my personal hell. I don’t know my ass from an ottoman. But when a hot designer comes to my rescue, I realize my problems are bigger than the house I’m trying to furnish.

A scorching kiss over fabric samples makes me question all my choices. But is it too late to change my entire life to get more of them?

CARTER

I need this gig, but my cocky new client leaves out a couple crucial details:
He doesn’t mention that he’s a famous hockey player. And he doesn’t own up to the way he’s always trying to undress me with his dark, broody eyes.

The man throws out more mixed signals than a broken traffic light. I’ve never been more sexually frustrated in my entire life. I need to back away before I do something stupid, like lose my heart.

I absolutely loved this book, from start to finish I completely adored Tommaso and Carter and their journey! These two guys couldn’t be more different and yet just perfect for each other. A grumpy hockey player and an out and proud designer, a great combination for sure. It’s definitely a slow burn read, there is a lot going on for both of these guys and they are both working through their own issues so it takes some time, but it’s so very worth it!

There is a great connection between these two right from the start and despite the initial attraction and chemistry neither are looking for something more. Oh but it’s there! And I really loved how everything developed and unfolded. Their story feels very real and genuine. This is one of those books where these two fall in love with each other without even know it, before even really starting an official relationship. They are so sweet together and support each other and they 100% just made my heart happy! This is a definite must read!

Blurb:
Carson Ballard isn’t only lactose intolerant—he’s intolerable. No wonder his assistant quit on him without notice.
Okay, okay, he has a right to be angry at me for dumping an armful of sticky breakfast plates on his head. It was an accident, I swear.
But now I’m out of a job—not that I’m any good at waiting tables—and Carson’s mother is offering to hire me.

There’s no way I can work for him. I may be from the sticks, but Davis Turner is nobody’s fool. Not anymore.
I refuse to be Carson’s next victim. Something will turn up. I’ll take anything. As long as I can hide away in the city, where my ex can’t find me.
Except my bank account is at rock bottom and rent is due. I’m running out of food. And time.

I guess I have to work for Carson. He’ll be my boss—nothing more. I can keep things professional.

There’s just one little problem.
Carson may not be as horrible as I thought. He’s trying so hard to right the wrongs of his father and brother, who left him with a mess most people would walk away from.
But Carson Ballard isn’t most people. And he won’t accept defeat.

Damn you, Carson.
Why do you have to be so nice…so generous…so wickedly funny and so, so sexy?
You’re offering me a future…if I can ignore the mistakes of my past.
You’re an impossible man who’s making everything possible.
How can I not fall for you?

I loved this book and I loved Carson and Davis! To be honest I didn’t expect to love Carson as much or as fast as I did given how he is the beginning but once I got to know him – all the love! This is such a fun, sweet and sexy romance and I really loved every bit of it. These two definitely owned my heart!
These two don’t exactly have a ‘meet cute’ but it’s certainly memorable and surprising sets them on a great path together! Carson is trying to save his family’s reputation and business after his now deceased brother and father made a mess of things. He’s testy and short and doesn’t have time or tolerance for much other than work. Davis has been in New York for a couple of years just trying to make a life for himself and avoid some mistakes from his past. Working in a diner isn’t a dream but it’s work, until he accidentally dumps food on Carson. While Carson is beyond upset, his mother takes pity on Davis and sees more in him and convinces him to go to work for Carson. It all seems unlikely but it works, well and these two start to develop more than a working relationship.
What I really loved the most about this book was the development of what builds between Carson and Davis and how we see these two really fall in love with each other before they even act on a relationship. Both men have issues they are working through so neither is really ready to just jump into a relationship, but that doesn’t stop the connection they share. I really did adore them and seeing how their story really came together. These two really learn to lean on each other and grow stronger together. This book made me and my heart smile and is definitely a new Felice favorite for me!

Release Blitz & 5 Star Review: WTF by Cambria Hebert

Title: WTF
Series: Westbrook Elite #4
Author: Cambria Hebert
Genre: MM Swimmer Romance
Tropes: Roommates with Benefits/Forced Proximity
Release Date: April 11, 2023
BLURB
I don’t do commitment. And though I swing both ways, I don’t do men either.
It’s too messy, too stressful, and just asking for trouble.
I’d rather shine bright like the sun than drown in the rain, so I adopt a pounce-and-bounce lifestyle for which my sparkling charm keeps me from being hated.
When I show up in Sweden for a semester abroad, I expect a roomie. What I don’t expect is Lars. The storm to my sun. The test of my patience. How easy he makes it to forget all my reasons for staying away from guys.
No big deal. I’ll just pivot from pounce and bounce to roomies with benefits. I’ll get to indulge in that side of me, then leave it half a world away. What happens in Sweden stays in Sweden… until he follows me home.
Lars shows up at Westbrook looking like my little brother’s new swim bro. Just as alluring as he did before.
And all I can do is ask myself, WTF?
My resolve for an uncomplicated, stress-free life isn’t something I’m willing to give up for anyone, even if his icy-blond hair begs for my fingers and those pale-blue eyes are haunted by shadows.
I might be the sun, but I am not his sun, and it’s not my job to chase away whatever sent him running here. He swears it isn’t me. But I’m calling bullshit. Why else would he show up on my turf?
But then shit starts happening, and the shadows in his eyes turn to panic. I catch a glimpse of the bruises on his creamy, flawless skin.
I can’t keep him at arm’s length anymore. I don’t want to. Protecting him means surrendering to everything I always refused. His destruction or mine.
The choice is simple, so achingly absolute that I can’t help but wonder once more…
WTF?
Please note that WTF contains stalking and domestic abuse (not between the main characters). There is also mention of (off-page) parental death. Some readers may find these things uncomfortable.

I absolutely freaking loved this book, I couldn’t put it down and I didn’t want it to end!
I adored Win and Lars, they made me laugh and swoon and just feel all the feels. There is so much emotion packed into their story and I was there for every bit of it! This is a really great combination of kind-of second chance and hurt/comfort. What was supposed to be a temporary fling becomes something so much more, something all consuming and packed with so much love. I really do feel like I could go on and on about this book, but it’s told so well I really don’t want to spoil the experience. It is definitely intense and these guys both go through a lot, so it’s not always the easiest read and it will make your heart hurt in the best possible way. WTF is one of my favorites so far this year, a definite must read!
