Garrett Steiner loves his grandmother.
Really.
But when she rents a billboard in the middle of Times Square, hoping to find him a husband, he isn’t so sure anymore. Bad enough everyone at the “Crossroads of the World” thinks he’s a joke—now his face is plastered all over the news. He’s already in enough trouble with the principal of his school, who isn’t thrilled to have a gay teacher. It might be two dateless years since his divorce, but no way is he going to answer any of the thousand emails he’s received.
Except….maybe one. The long-haired man with the soulful eyes.
After the devastating loss of his husband, rock star Remi Angel has hit rock bottom. His career is in shambles and he’s spiraling. Fast.
With the media ready for the next juicy scandal, he leaves the limelight behind to return to his roots and spend time with his beloved grandfather. Seeing Garrett’s billboard ad, Remi sends him an email, figuring nothing will come of it, but hey. At least he’s trying.
Except Garrett does answer, and when they meet, both feel that special spark. It’s terrifying yet wondrous, a combination of desire and hope mixed with fear.
The fear of loving again.
Of coming alive again.
This wasn’t supposed to happen.
But anything can happen in a New York minute…even love.
In a New York Minute is a slow burn, rockstar, M/M romance filled with longing, doubt and swoony moments. There are love songs, a secret identity, a wise, bagel-loving grandpa, and an unrepentant bubbe who knows what’s best for her grandson.
It answers the question: once in a lifetime can’t happen twice…or can it?

This was such a fun and heartwarming read and I really couldn’t put it down once I started – I just had to have all of Remi and Garrett! I absolutely adored them and their story! I always look forward to books from Felice Stevens, she truly knows how to deliver passion, heart and feel-it-in-your-soul love and she does it again with this book!
Garrett and Remi couldn’t be more different and have different lives, Garrett is a public school teacher who loves old music and old movies and Remi is a world famous rock star who lives a party lifestyle. But these two – oh they are just meant to be together! And when you combine Garrett’s fantastic grandmother putting up a billboard in Time Square with Garrett’s information and Remi’s life taking a hard downward spiral and the need for deep reflection and re-boot, it leads to everything for these two.
I say this was a fun read and it really is, but both Garrett and Remi are dealing with some heavy pain from their pasts. Garrett is trying to find life again after a painful divorce and Remi is doing the same after the death of his husband and has been trying to mask that pain with hard partying and scandals. It’s definitely emotional and I truly felt for both of these guys, but the fun comes in watching them get to know each other, open up again and ultimately fall so freaking hard for each other. It’s such a heartwarming journey, how they support each other and and really grow together! I adored their families as well, they were just as important as Garrett and Remi in this story. There isn’t a ton of angsty drama for them, but definitely some challenges they face, but these two learn to face it together. I also really loved getting some special cameos!
Absolutely fantastic story, it’s sweet and will certainly touch your heart.

“… filled with heart, emotion, a little angst, a lot of steam and filled to the brim with wonderful characters! This is an amazing story and you will not be disappointed!” ~ Readingbks

This was an interesting read for me, confession time, I’m not a fan of A Star is Born but I was very curios about Andrew’s take on this story and for me he delivered! Logan is a Hollywood star, living the glamourous Hollywood life, or so it seems. He’s miserable, pills and alcohol keep him going and he doesn’t have real friends in his life. Brit has dreams of being an actor, it’s certainly his passion but isn’t currently paying the bills, so he does what he has to to make money, even if it means editing and doing voicework for porn. A chance meeting after an accident on the highway throw Brit and Logan together and it turns into a new chance for both of them.

I really enjoyed the flow of this story and how it was told. It’s easy to love Brit and his energy and heart, Logan is a little tougher, he’s got some struggles in his life and doesn’t always make the best choices. But, once he meets Brit and starts to see what his life has become, he sees that it’s not what he wants and maybe it’s something he can have with Brit. It’s also easy to feel the genuine love these two have for each other, but it’s not without it’s challenges, but more about how they get through them. I really loved how supportive these two are of each other, especially as the story goes on and we see Brit really start to shine. It’s a very touching, heartwarming story and I really loved the way it all came together. The ending made me so happy and my heart was so full. Overall, an entertaining, fun book and just loved both Logan and Brit and was so happy to see them get the happiness they deserved!

Cover Design: Kate Farlow @ Y’all That Graphic

Genre: M/M College Romance Novella
Trope: Friends with benefits, secret relationship, HEA

Synopsis

Zach

I wanted what I thought was the ideal college experience—an excellent school and a great fraternity. Since I was a legacy, it was Zeta from the get-go. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy it. In fact, I had so much fun I didn’t pay enough attention to one very important thing—the culture. The very conservative, closed-minded culture. The culture that welcomed no one who wasn’t a carbon copy of everyone else. The culture where a gay man has only one option: live in the closet and survive on occasional anonymous hookups.

I made it work until I saw a gorgeous guy jump into the bushes one night after a party. I went after him, and my life was never the same.

Connor

After my best friend ditched me at a frat party, I had nothing to do but drink away the time and wait for my own Prince Frat Bro to rescue me. Yeah, right. I was pretty sure I was the only gay guy there, and I finally gave up and left. Then, the night took an interesting turn on my walk home.

I guess you can’t find love when you beat around the bushes.

Swimming Against the Tide is a romance between two very different young men: a closeted frat bro sophomore and an out-and-proud freshman. Neither can resist the connection made at the most awkward, incredibly sweet, and impossible-to-forget meet-cute ever. How can they get what they want without being swept away by the tide?

This gay college romance features themes of Greek life, a secret relationship, undeniable chemistry, and steamy moments full of delightfully dirty talk. There are also tough decisions, coming out, and an HEA that will pull at your heartstrings every time you read it.

This was a fun, cute read about discovering your true self, finding love and also finding what you are willing to do for that love. I really liked Connor and Zach and was definitely rooting for them. They have a bit of an awkward first meeting, but despite that, it’s easy to feel their quick connection. The challenge they face, Connor is out and proud, living his life the way he wants and Zach, well he’s completely in the closet and a member of a fraternity known for being homophobic and not accepting of others.

It’s not an overly angsty journey for these guys, more of an awakening and awareness, it’s a very touching journey. I really loved seeing Zach grow, come to terms with who he is and wants to be and ultimately standing up for himself. They are super cute together and develop serious feelings pretty quickly. Overall, this was a feel-good, quick read that left me happy!

About Cloud Nine

Bedroom eyes, that’s the name my mom gave them. Before I travelled to the UK, she issued me plenty of warnings: don’t look the wrong way when crossing the road, the first floor was the second floor, and no one would know what I meant if I asked for ranch dressing at a restaurant.

But the perils of shy, beautiful men like Tristan Carter? Men with walking canes and hearing aids and those damned bedroom eyes, hidden behind a curtain of silky blond hair?

She forgot to tell me anything about those. And I messed up badly. Monumentally. The kind of misjudgement that had me waking in a cold sweat, wanting to catch the next flight back to my pampered college life in the US. Except I couldn’t, seeing as I’d messed up there too.

So I stayed. I got a job, grew up, and learned some harsh life lessons. Worked out what I wanted to do with my future. Drank warm beer, chilled with my big brother. Ferried Tristan Carter across London. Helped him in and out of the car. Goofed around with him. Tumbled headlong in love with him.

Bedroom eyes. I’m an absolute sucker for those.

This was a very interesting read, and I had a feeling going into this book it would be a different experience and it definitely was and I really enjoyed it! Tristan and Dominic, now there are two very different people and not just in the obvious physical sense, but in their personalities and their approach to life. They have a very unique but very touching story!

Tristan has Cerebral Palsy, is physically disabled and is deaf but does uses cochlear implants. That doesn’t stop him though, he is absolutely fierce! Dominic is a classic spoiled rich college kid who got himself in trouble and has been to live with his brother for a few months while his situation is taken care of. His brother happens to be engaged to Tristan’s brother and it should be a nice family meeting but these two have a very rough start – like holy moly how do you redeem yourself start. But, after making a horrible mistake Dominic is determined to make things right with Tristan and prove he is not a monster.

So, I ended up really liking these two, their love story and their journey to getting there. I felt like I really got to see these two open up and especially in Dom’s case learn a lot about himself and who he wants to be. Dom definitely experiences a lot during his time in the UK, and I really loved seeing his growth. Tristan is an amazing character who despite having limitations is still determined to live and enjoy his life.  This isn’t a high angst read, more of a learning journey and I’m so glad I took a chance with this book because it really was touching and sweet. I’m already looking forward to the next book in this series because I really do want more of these characters.

About Defender

Travis Wyatt

All I’ve ever wanted was to go to college and get out of Kensley. That small town is all I’ve ever known. I want to be free to be myself, not stifled by small minds in the football-loving town where I grew up.

And then I blew my one and only chance.

So now, I’m just stuck. Stuck in small-town life, with the same small-town people I’ve always known. Stuck where I don’t want to be. Constantly on the defense and hiding secrets about myself. To never be the real me.

I’m lost, and I’m angry. But those people I was desperate to get away from, they don’t stop. They insist on showing me that maybe it’s not about my location.

That maybe I can be free right where I am.

Oakley Easton

Travis is way too uptight. I don’t know why. He has everything a guy could want—a steady job and friends who would do anything for him. A great simple, small-town life. But I guess that’s not what he wants.

He’s always been different. Better. Smarter. Stronger.

Still, I find myself wanting to show him everything he’s dreamed of is within his grasp. That he doesn’t have to be so serious all the time. That he can be himself wherever he is, and I’ll back him up.

Because that’s what I’m good at—on and off the field. I’ll always be his defender.

If he’d only let me.

I am really enjoying this series, these Kensley guys are something else and I was very curious how the story would go for Travis and Oakley! Talk about opposites attract, these two are so very different and yet they totally work together. I really enjoyed the blend of humor and romance and grumpy and sunshine. It wasn’t an overly angsty read but did have a good amount of feeling to it.

I really liked Oakley and his sweetness and his silliness, he’s such a loveable goof and really the perfect match for Travis and his serious nature. I also liked Travis too, but really felt for him! His main goal was always to get out of Kensley, go to college and finally live out an proud, but not getting the scholarship he needed kept that from happening. But, even though he’s stuck in a small town he’s got an unexpected friend in Oakley and that friendship grows until it becomes so much more until both guys have new dreams for the future.

I thought this was a fun read, it was easy to fall for these guys and to root for them and I really do love this Kensley world and getting to see the other characters. It’s sweet and heartwarming and sexy all at the same time. I also really enjoyed the character growth in both Travis and Oakley, they both have to sort through what they really want in life and who they want it with. Definitely a great addition to this series and I’m already looking forward to the next book!

Blurb/Synopsis:
Gay burlesque performer, Noel West, had dreams of dancing professionally, but an injury sidelined him. He’s wary of other people, largely because of his profession. When David offers him a ride in a blizzard, he cautiously accepts, expecting a come-on. David is a gentleman, however, and that quickly gets past Noel’s defenses.
David Hunter is a trust-fund kid and a lawyer. Seeing Noel, he offers a ride because no one should be out on a frigid night. He has no idea what Noel does until he refers to it in a snappy comeback, which leads David to return and see the show. He’s captivated by Noel in a way he never thought possible and decides to try to get Noel’s attention… the old-fashioned way: he woos him.
When Noel’s club is raided on trumped-up charges, he calls for help, and David answers. But even as Noel starts to realize that David may be everything he appears to be, he’s still skeptical. Especially when he learns David’s father has political ambitions that Noel’s relationship with David seems to threaten. David will need to navigate family drama to prove to Noel that his feelings are true and that he really is his prince charming.

This was a sweet, quick read featuring two very different men who both truly deserve happiness and just so happen to find it together unexpectedly. I really liked both David and Noel and thought they were a great match and was definitely rooting for them.
David may be a rich, trust find kid but he’s smart, educated and above all else kind. He’s educated as a lawyer but stuck working with his father and being a poster child for his father’s political ambitions. He meets burlesque dancer Noel on a cold snowy night when Noel is walking home and offers him a ride. Noel can’t believe the good looking man in a limo doesn’t want more from him, but he’s pleasantly surprised when that’s all David really offers – a safe ride home. Not to say there isn’t attraction and interest, but this sweet meeting allows the two to get to know each other and allow that attraction to grow.
I really loved how kind and genuine David is, he just has the best heart! And Noel, even though he’s a bit skeptical about David’s motives, he too seems to see how good he is and how special their connection is. Of course, they face some challenges as their new relationship develops, namely from David’s father, but these two really do focus on each other and building that connection that they have. I loved the mix of humor, feels and romance in this book, it was a fantastic quick afternoon read. Definitely one that will make your heart happy!

Coaching his new AHL team? Easy

Reconnecting with his ex…who’s also his best player’s father?

Not so much.

Blurb

As the new head coach of the Vancouver Orcas, Matt Shore has got his work cut out for him. Coming off a season where the Orcas came in last in the entire AHL, Matt’s job is to whip his new hockey team into shape for the oncoming season.

He doesn’t need any distractions, especially not one in the form of a tall, dark, and gorgeous antiques dealer.

Who’s also his ex—and his best player’s father.

Pierce Langley-Brown has a lot of regrets. The biggest? Leaving Matt behind two years ago when his son needed him. Now, with his son on Matt’s hockey team, there’s no avoiding the man who once owned his heart.

Not that Pierce wants to avoid him. And that heart? It still belongs to Matt.

But will Matt choose to keep it after all this time?

Content warnings: past parental death (off-page but is discussed on-page); depression and mental health

Excerpt  “What do you think?” Matt slowed as they approached the entrance to Kitsilano Beach Park. The parking lot was mostly empty at this time of day. “Should we park here or find street parking farther down?” “Doesn’t matter,” Pierce muttered. “We both know I’ll only last five minutes.” Matt grinned and pulled into the parking lot. “Not to worry. We’ll build your stamina in no time.” Speaking of stamina . . . Matt scratched at his thigh, drawing Pierce’s gaze. He swallowed hard. Sipped his coffee. Eyed Matt’s profile as Matt backed into a spot. “What kind of strenuous activities do you expect me to be doing that I’ll need stamina?” Putting the car in park, Matt side-eyed him. “Increasing your stamina helps reduce fatigue. Allows you to perform your daily activities at a higher level while using less energy.” “Uh-huh.” Amused at the non-answer, Pierce sipped more coffee, hiding a grin behind his mug. “Is that all?” Huffing, Matt popped his door open. “Get out of the car, LB.” Pierce let his laughter loose, feeling giddy and happy and like Matt’s laughter gave him superpowers. Until they got a few minutes into their jog. “I’m—” Huff. “—dying.” Huff. “Jogging is . . .” Huff. “Good exercise?” Matt prompted, not the least bit winded. “Torture.” Matt chuckled, but he slowed to a fast walk. Other joggers and cyclists passed them, but Pierce didn’t care much about anything other than gulping big breaths of air. On their left, the sandy beach was dotted with wooden logs for seating, and the ocean was calm under a blue sky peppered with the occasional cloud. In the distance, the mountains rose, tall and green. Pierce sucked in a deep breath of ocean-tinted air, held it, and released it in a long sigh. “How did you survive in landlocked Laval for two years?” Matt asked “Technically, it’s not landlocked. Laval is mostly on an island across the Prairies River from Montreal. It’s not the same, but there are waterfronts. I did miss home, though. It’s good to be back.” “Yet you’d still move with Jason if he got traded again?” Pierce blinked at Matt. “What makes you say that?” “You sort of implied it,” Matt said, suddenly finding a hangnail interesting. “When you said you moved back here because Jason did.” “Oh, well . . . I mean, generally, parents don’t follow their kids around, right? Especially when those kids reach adulthood?” Matt raised an eyebrow, and if ever sardonic had an expression . . . “Yet here you are.” “Sure, but . . .” Pierce shrugged. “I kept my apartment here for a reason, you know? Jase getting traded here was fortuitous. It gave me an excuse to return home, which gave me a reason to be close to Jason so we can keep repairing our relationship.” “If he’d gotten traded to . . . I don’t know . . . somewhere in the States, you wouldn’t have gone with him?” Pierce blew out a breath. “I might’ve gone with him for the first week or so, just to make sure he was settling in okay. Whether or not I would’ve moved there with him . . .” He rubbed his jaw, the overnight stubble he hadn’t bothered to shave scratching at his palm. “I honestly don’t know. I don’t spend much time mapping out what I would or wouldn’t have done in a situation that doesn’t exist.” “But it could exist.” Pierce stopped right there on the path, a frown pulling at his forehead. Once Matt had turned around, he said, “Are you trying to tell me something? Is Jason about to get traded? He just got here.” Matt’s eyes were dark as sin under the autumn sun. “No. That’s not what I’m saying. I’m just . . . curious.” Curious because . . . he didn’t want Pierce to leave again? Because . . . he was still in love with him? Pierce nearly laughed out loud at the fanciful thoughts. “Curious about . . . ?” Matt walked backwards, forcing Pierce to follow. “What your long-term plans are. I don’t even know what you do for work right now.” “I’m a runner.” Another sardonic eyebrow paired with an amused twist of the lips. “I beg to differ.” “No,” Pierce said with a laugh. “Not a runner runner. A runner for an antiques dealer in Quebec.” “Which is . . . ?” “I buy antiques for my dealer. She tells me what she’s looking for and what her budget is, and I run around looking for it.” “Huh.”

ABOUT THE BOOK

A steamy romance between a player and a referee breaks all the rules but will it destroy their careers?

Five different cities in eight years — Logan’s never had the chance to settle in one place. He’s the guy who fills in gaps on teams as a temporary fix and is traded at year’s end because no one wants to keep a thirty-year-old rental after he’s outlived his usefulness. When he’s called up to the Rebels, he knows it’s his last run in the NHL. Now, he must decide if it’s worth carrying on with the weight of his secrets around his neck for one more year. He’s never had a love that mattered, his career is nearly done, his ex-wife is remarrying, his sex life is drier than a desert, and abruptly, Logan’s had enough. He craves one night to ease the frustration, and hooks up with someone tall, dark, and dangerous in the bathroom of a club. The sex is off the charts, but it’s one and done, until Logan realizes exactly who he slept with and understands how dangerous it is to play games with secrets.

Being a referee is in Webber’s blood, and it’s a job he loves. Sure, sometimes he’s called dirty names—by fans, coaches, and players—or must insert himself between two massive men trying to pummel each other. Some nights, he’s knocked on his ass. Other times, he might take a puck to a tender spot. But despite all the hazards and name calling, there is no place he wants to be than on the ice. If only his love life was as settled. It’s hard to find someone willing to put up with his travel schedule, and even if he found Mr. Right, how would he juggle a romance when he’s never home? A chance hookup while officiating a game in Boston should be a simple matter of scratching that itch, but he couldn’t be more wrong. Unfortunately, that one-night stand—while memorable—turns his sedate life upside down in ways he could’ve never foreseen. When the penalty for love is losing everything he’s worked hard for, is it a price he’s willing to pay?

I have really enjoyed this series, I do love these hockey players, and I was definitely intrigued by this book, I mean a player and a ref, yes please and I think RJ and V.L. really delivered! Their story was an emotional one, there is a lot going on with these guys and what all they face because they fell in love.
Logan is a hockey player, a rental in fact, he’s a player that gets traded regularly to help teams and fill positions. He doesn’t really ever feel like a part of the team though and he’s hoping to finish out his career in Boston. Webber is a well known and well respected referee and he loves his job. The two meet totally by chance in a bar one night, neither man knowing who the other is and they have a smoking hot hookup without even knowing names. It isn’t until they see each other again on the ice, for a game that realization of what happened hits them. It also doesn’t help that they can’t stop thinking about each other.
I really liked these two together, I thought they had a great connection and I was really rooting for them. It’s definitely a complicated situation they are in and the dilemmas they face, especially given that Logan’s team is trying to make it through playoffs and take a shot at the Stanley Cup. There’s a lot of back and forth and a lot of tension, but their feelings are just undeniable. I definitely felt that and in turn felt for them.
Definitely a roller coaster of emotions and lot of angsty feels and I really enjoyed it. Their story takes some interesting turns and these two really have to look at what is really important for them and make some big decisions. In the end, I was very happy and liked the way it came together for them. Definitely a great addition to this series.

EXCERPT

“Samuel Adams, please, draft, and a menu?” I asked. He nodded, moved off to pull me a beer and grab a menu. Raking my fingers through my short, damp brown hair I settled in, looked to the left, and saw one of the most gorgeous men I’d ever seen before, staring at me as if I were a bacon cheeseburger and he was just coming out of a meat-free Lent drought. Gorgeous lower half of his face, anyway. He wet his lips. My pecker perked up instantly. I barely noticed the beer and menu that appeared in front of me. The bartender, who was probably used to seeing men drooling on his bar, moved off to tend to his other customers. “Evening,” I said because I was smooth and suave that way.

“Hey,” he replied, his voice deep as the ocean depths. He was dirty blond, big, and inked. Also, a little younger than me. Not by eons or anything, but maybe early thirties. He had a rugged face, a nose that was wider and perhaps a wee bit crooked. Incredibly lush lips and one hell of a strong jaw. Dark blue eyes. That nose/jaw combo was a real standout. His face was rough and masculine, but he’d not be appearing on the cover of any high-fashion magazine. The man was not a fashionable waif. He was a bruiser. And just my type. His mask was purple with sequins. Very flashy for a man who didn’t strike me as the flashy type, but then again, what did I know about him other than my dick was into his vibe. “You here for food or something else?”

My dick was standing at attention. Okay then, the straightforward type. “I’m here for whatever the night brings me.”

He gave me a smile that could have jarred Satan. Talk about sinful. “Yeah, same.” With that announcement, he slid from his stool, adjusted his cock, which looked like a thick hunk of meat pressing against the zipper of his jeans, and then sauntered off. I sat there overwhelmed, not only at the quickness of finding a willing fuck, but at the potential sheer size of that man’s cock. His ass was a work of perfection. Meaty as hell. Damn this bar was a treasure trove! Why had I not googled gay bars in Boston when I was here before?! He paused at the end of a dark hallway, bathroom signs lit above his head, and gave me that look. That look that scorched all my nerve receptors aside from the ones that led to my crotch. He walked off into the dimly lit corridor.

The bartender cleared his throat. I glanced at him, waiting with a pencil and pad in his hand.

“I have to go wash up first,” I lied like a motherfucking rug.

“Uh-huh.” He placed the pad back into his front pocket and went to make cocktails.

About Worth the Fight

A bad boy who lives outside the law. A compassionate soul focused on helping others. Sometimes rules are meant to be broken… for love.

Caden

Helping my brother was my focus. He got into trouble and I’ve been using my skills in the ring to prevent loan sharks from breaking his kneecaps… or worse.

Until I met Noah.

He’s a good man who makes me want to be better. A man who doesn’t lace up his gloves and step into underground rings. But I have one last fight coming. This time the stakes are higher than ever. What I have to do to save my brother could cost me the man I’m falling for.

Noah

I should have walked away and never looked back when I first met the MMA fighter with honey-gold eyes. Yet Caden’s charms are too appealing to ignore. As a social worker it’s important for me to keep my nose clean.

And Caden is a red flag in every way.

Still, he’s hot as sin and I can’t seem to stay away. I’m taking a risk by opening myself up to him, but I’m convinced beneath that bad boy exterior beats the heart of a good man who is worth the fight.

Worth the Fight is an opposites attract MM romance. It is book one of the Winning at Love series, a collection of standalone gay romance stories featuring MMA fighters and hockey and football playing heroes. Expect different tropes like enemies to lovers, GFY/bi-awakening, forbidden romance, single dads, found families and happily ever afters.

3 – 3.5 Stars

This is the first book in a new sports series, this book featuring an MMA fighter and it’s definitely an interesting start. It’s also got the opposites attract thing going for it too. This book features Noah, a hardworking social worker determined to help people and make a difference and Caden, a cocky MMA fighter on the rise who may be outstanding in the ring but faces some major challenges trying to help his younger brother with a serious debt. These two meet at a fight, Noah just trying to find his seat and Caden the star of the night and it may be lust at first sight but if these two stand a chance at anything real, well that’ll be the real fight.

I liked both of these guys, they are definitely strong characters with strong personalities. There’s a lot of drama to their story, Noah has very high moral standards and expectations for his life and even though he’s trying to help his brother Caden operates in a grey area when it comes to his choices. But, these two share a strong connection they can’t seem to deny are determined to figure out how to make it work.

Overall, I enjoyed the book and was interested in seeing how it was all going to play out for these two. There were some moments where I really questioned how these two very different men could end up together, but in the end I was happy with their story. There were some times when things felt a bit rushed or unfinished, but in general there was a good flow and pace. I’m definitely curious to see what other stories are coming for this series.

A sweet, fun read featuring a super hot firefighter and a computer geek – yes please! And that’s exactly what Andrew Grey delivers with this book. It’s a quick read but it will definitely leave you with a smile on your face. Stone and Dash are very likeable guys and so easy to root for. They have great chemistry and you can feel the genuine love that builds between them.

I enjoyed their story, again it’s a quick one, but there’s a lot going on here! These two meet in dramatic circumstances, Dash’s house is on fire, he barely escapes and Stone is a firefighter on scene who rescue’s his dog and with nowhere to go Stone offers his spare room to Dash as a safe place to stay. These two easily become friends with definite attraction and more brewing but when Dash’s house fire investigation comes back arson both men have to question what really happened.

I definitely liked this book, it was an easy afternoon type read that entertained me from start to finish. I loved the relationship that develops between them and how natural it felt and how they opened up to each other. They both have moments of doubt and questioning their situation but by opening up they learn to trust each other. Overall, it’s a feel good book and a great addition to this series.

Excerpt

“I don’t know. There’s a shed out behind the house. Maybe I can stay in there for the night and figure things out in the morning.” He tried not to think of the fact that he had no family and now he had no place to live and was going to try to stay in the shed. It was the only idea he had, and at least he’d be out of the rain. “Thank you for coming and for saving Taffy.” That was what was truly important. Stuff he could replace, but the one friend he knew he could count on was the only irreplaceable thing in the house. He stepped down out of the ambulance, grateful they’d let him keep the blanket, and headed around the side of the burned-out shell of a house.

The scent of char and scorch along with the dampness from the rain hung in the air. He hurried to try to keep dry. Dash heard the firefighters packing up as he reached for the door of the shed. Without looking back, he pulled it open and stepped inside. It was mostly empty, with a few folding chairs and one of those old beach lounges with wide woven straps. He set that up and then spread the blanket over it before stretching out, tugging the blanket over himself like a cocoon. At least he was dry for the time being. That he could be grateful for at least.

“Hello,” a deep voice called from outside. “Are you in there?”

Dash thought of not answering and just closing his eyes, willing this nightmare to be over and all of this to just go away. “Yes,” he answered softly before the door opened. The firefighter from earlier, Stone, stood there, shadowed from behind in the light from the trucks.

“You’re really going to stay here?” he asked.

Dash shrugged. “I don’t have much choice. The stupid insurance company isn’t going to help, and I can’t afford a hotel right now. Besides, it’s that big festival in town. All the hotels have been booked for months, and there’s nothing that isn’t going to cost a fortune.”

Stone came inside, and Dash could see some of his features. “Then you can come home with me for the night. I have a sofa that you can use. It will be more comfortable than this loungie thing, and I can try to find you something to wear.”

Dash was tempted to say no, thank you, but his lounge, which had seen many better days, decided to give up the ghost right then and dumped him onto the floor in a heap. He rolled and bashed his hand against the floor. He stayed still until he could figure out how to get up without hitting anything else.
