BISHOP SULLIVAN
I’ve always known what my future had in store: inheriting the family ranch and having myself a wife and kids to carry on the Sullivan name. Porter Dixon never factored into those plans. We may have spent our teenage years sneaking away to lose ourselves in each other, but he always held me at arm’s length…until the day he up and left without so much as a goodbye.

PORTER DIXON
After everything I’ve lost in my life, it’s important that I keep myself tightly guarded. Especially around Bishop Sullivan. Dad would be rolling in his grave if he found out I was shacking up with a Sullivan, given the bad blood between our families. But eleven years after leaving, I’m back in Laurel Springs with something to prove: I don’t need the Sullivans, nor their land.

Except, damn it all, Bishop has this way of burrowing under my armor. The magnetic draw between us is still too hard to ignore, and what starts out as boss and ranch hand quickly turns into stolen moments and simmering encounters that make it hard to stay angry.

I want to think that love can conquer all and tame my wild heart…but the past isn’t so easy to forget.

4 – 4.5 Stars

I love a good cowboy romance and Riley Hart and Christina Lee definitely deliver with Bishop and Porter! And not only is it cowboys but its second chance and is just full of all the feels! There is a lot to this story and I really liked that it felt like I got to know both Porter and Bishop and got a good understanding of their backstory. It all made for a very well told story and wonderful character and world development.

Bishop and Porter have such a deep connection that goes back to high school years, but they have a very complicated situation. Bishop’s family owns a large thriving ranch that Porter believes should be his, at least part of it, if the stories are true. He certainly believes them and believes that it was Bishop’s grandfather who stole the land from his grandfather and there’s anger and resentment that Porter’s father carried and Porter now carries. He and his mother both now work on the Sullivan’s ranch and while his mother seems happy, Porter definitely carries that resentment. Further complicating everything is the attraction and connection that Porter and Bishop share, along with their secret hookups that no one can know about. When tragedy strikes though and Porter turns to Bishop what he sees sends him running from the Sullivan ranch and not looking back. Years later Porter finds himself back though and looking for a job. He’s one of the best around when it comes to horses and just what the Sullivan ranch needs, but that means facing Bishop again!

There is a good amount of angst in this book, these two love so deeply but have both been hurt so deeply that it takes them some time to heal and open up to each other again. But once they do, wow their love is something so intense and stunning. There is so much passion and emotion between these two and I so just wanted them to find their happiness, they both so deserve it. I really loved seeing the healing they both experience and that allows them both to truly open up and love each other the way they were always meant to.

Overall, I definitely enjoyed this book, even if it made my heart ache for a while it’s totally worth it for the satisfying and heartwarming way it all comes together.  Love Bishop and Porter and their much deserved HEA!

Successful financial analyst Michael Walsh leads a picture-perfect life that anyone would envy—unless they caught a glimpse beneath the surface. Haunted by failed relationships and self-doubt, Michael harbors a soul-deep loneliness that no number of casual hookups can fulfill. So why can’t he stop thinking about his New Year’s fling with a man whose quiet desperation matches his own?

Barista Stewart Jenkins has an abysmal track record with relationships, and no matter how hard he tries to keep things tightly under wraps, his life is spinning out of control. His hookup with the gorgeous Michael was only supposed to be sex—hot, dirty, and uncomplicated—but that small taste leaves him desperate for more.

Every no-strings encounter that follows between Michael and Stewart peels away more layers, blurring the lines between them, until they’re left with a raw tenderness and acceptance they’re both urgently craving. A relationship absolutely wouldn’t work on paper; they come from drastically different lives and are plagued by inexcusable sins. All that vulnerability is sure to reveal old wounds, and forgiveness seems so far out of reach unless they can find a way around their fears on the road to redemption.

5 Stars

I have to start by saying just how much I have loved this series and Christina Lee delivers something so special with this book! I’ve become attached to these characters and their struggles and finding their happiness and in Redeem Christina gives us two anti-heros that, before this book, I can’t even imagine rooting for but damn she got me! I LOVED Stewart and Micheal! This book is just brilliant!

They are flawed and broken and surrounded by their mistakes but Stewart and Michael find something special in between their hookups. That’s all it is supposed to be, they have chemistry yes but both men are struggling with the mistakes they’ve made. But, what happens when the physical turns into more, can they move past their previous mistakes and embrace what they hav.

I loved this story! I didn’t think I’d be able to get attached to these guys given what I learned about them in previous books but it happened! There is no hiding or brushing away the mistakes, but there is growth and learning and it owned my heart! This is a story of healing and redemption and finding true love and it is a must read!!

“Ah, hell, that’s good,” I gasped as he stroked upward while simultaneously sucking on my neck. I probably should’ve protested because he was sure to leave a bruise, but I couldn’t find it in me to care. Besides, it would be a marker of this night. Like a sexy brand.

His breaths grew heavier, and his chest rumbled in deep pleasure as he jerked sloppily against me. His hand stayed firm and tight on my cock even as he drew back and shuddered out his release. The sound was so sensual that my orgasm slammed through me at nearly the same time.

“Holy fuck.” My body grew limp as my come spilled over his hand and onto the floor. I shut my eyes and kept my head anchored against the wall as he released his grip and my shaft pulsed in response.

The quiet in the room grew deafening—the only sound our breaths and the muted noises of the crowd outside the door.

“You got a name?” I didn’t know why I said it out loud. It was only a fleeting thought through my mottled brain.

“Why the fuck does it matter?” he replied as the sound of his zipper cut through the echoing silence. “Not like I’ll ever see you again.”

“Dunno.” My cheeks flushed red, so I kept my head buried in my arm. “Maybe when I yank on my cock later, replaying this scene in my head, I can call you something.”

He didn’t respond. I heard him straightening his clothes and then pulling a few paper towels, which he forced into my hand. “Michael,” he mumbled against my ear.

And then he was gone.

After the death of his wife, Tanner Rowe takes a step toward making her dream come true and buys the house with the dilapidated barn she’d been inexplicably drawn to in the picturesque Upper Peninsula. But after a year, he still can’t get past his grief long enough to make the repairs he’d promised.

Recently out of prison, Cole Lachlan has little to his name. Homeless, broke, and without many options as a felon, Cole heads to Red Bluff with hopes of a second chance. There, he meets Tanner, whose loneliness mirrors his own and soon, Cole is trading room and board for rebuilding the burned-out barn on Tanner’s property that hasn’t been touched in seventy years.

Turns out, the barn holds a lot more secrets than either of them could have imagined. After unearthing a hidden journal from 1948, Cole and Tanner spend their evenings poring through the pages and reading about a young man pining after his best friend. As they delve deeper into this forbidden affair from the past, the more Cole and Tanner’s own relationship shifts—from acquaintance to friend…to undeniable attraction.

But as they begin to deal with the newness of falling in love amid Cole’s past and Tanner’s loss, they also become more determined to unravel the mystery of the young lovers who’ve captured their hearts, the rumors about the fire, and what really happened that fateful night.

Tanner and Cole are two men who are a bit broken and a bit lost in life when they meet. Fate has brought them together though and they are about to experience one hell of a journey together! It’s beautiful, powerful and heartbreaking as these two form a friendship that develops into something deeper and experience a journal that tells a tragic tale. Through it all there is healing and love and acceptance and it absolutely owned my heart! This is an absolute must read book!

Excerpt

Tanner’s eyes snapped open. He didn’t know what had woken him so suddenly, but the moment he did, he realized he’d fallen asleep with Cole on the couch, that Cole’s head was on his shoulder.

It was a little weird…and a little not weird…or maybe he was looking for it to be weird or not? As he sat there a moment, focusing on the heat of Cole against him, the feel of his head on his shoulder, it felt good. Christ, Cole felt good to him.

It wasn’t the first time that seeing Cole, touching his skin, studying his hands or his back, felt right. That truth hit him in the gut, so the moment Cole groaned in his sleep and turned his head, Tanner slipped out from under the blanket.

For a moment he considered trying to lay Cole down. Did his knee hurt? Was the position uncomfortable? But he didn’t know how to do it or if he should do it, and he suddenly really fucking needed to get out of the house.

Tanner shoved his feet into his shoes. Thankfully, he was wearing jeans and a tee he’d put on before going to look for Cole last night. His keys were on the kitchen counter, so he swooped them up and quietly sneaked out of the house.

Last night had been…something. How he could breathe easier after the loss of Emma, how much Cole’s friendship meant to him, Tom and Charlie, and falling asleep on the couch. It was…a lot, and he wished like hell he had his fishing supplies so he could go fishing.

So what could he do?

Guilt made his stomach tumble because he knew Cole would wake up and wonder where he was, might even think he’d done something wrong, which he hadn’t. Tanner just didn’t know how to do…whatever he was doing. It was like he was learning how to live again.

He drove around for a little while, taking in the small town he and Emma had loved. What would she think about his friendship with Cole? He knew Emma, and she would be glad Tanner had him, that he’d allowed himself to have someone.

The more he drove, the more he began to feel slightly foolish for leaving the way he had. Who cared if they fell asleep on the couch together? Who cared if having Cole around eased some of the weight in his chest?

So instead of driving around town for no reason, Tanner turned and headed for the general store. He’d get some bacon and eggs, then go home and make breakfast for them.

As next in line for the Evergreen crown, Prince Merrick Davendall’s future involves ruling, marriage, and producing an heir of his own. But he’s long been tormented by desires that are far from princely. Especially when the beautiful Cassius is promoted to be his new valet, and Merrick is struck by a longing like never before—a longing to know him far beyond royal and servant.

After his father’s passing, Cassius Havendale’s sole duty is to provide for his family. A promotion to serve a pampered prince is something he endures only for their sake. Surely Prince Merrick has no understanding of true suffering of the common people, nor could he possibly understand what it’s like to desperately desire something he cannot have.

Except the prince is not at all what Cassius imagined. Kind, humorous, and caring to those in need, he also shares Cassius’ affinity for the arts. In fact, Merrick understands his deepest vulnerabilities in a most remarkable way.

As their affection deepens, the underlying tension between them becomes unbearable and they’re unable to ignore it any longer. But when the queen prepares a lavish ball with all the eligible ladies in the land in attendance, Merrick must fulfill his obligations to his country, and Cassius has the needs of his family to consider. They’ve long known their stolen moments would have to come to an end, but are they ready to give up one another and the idea of a happily-ever-after?

Wow – what a heart-felt fun fairy tale read – I absolutely loved it and was completely consumed by their world! Merrick and Cassius absolutely stole my heart with their love story, ALL THE FEELS!

Prince Merrick thinks his life has been planned out, he must marry and produce a royal heir, the problem is he just isn’t attracted to women. He knows his fate and is resigned to it, until he gets to know his new valet, Cassius and realizes he will never be happy with a future that does not involve loving him. The two cannot resist each other and begin a secret affair, opening their hearts to each other. They know it can’t end well but they cannot help themselves.

I absolutely adored these two, with my whole heart! Both are such good men with kind hearts, Merrick wanting to do good for his kingdom and Cassius wanting nothing for himself, only to provide for his mother and sisters. There was something so magical about this story and the relationship these two build together, it was a story I felt. It’s clear to see Merrick and Cas falling for each other that just makes your heart burst, but there’s also that underlying ache knowing it has to come to an end. Christina Lee and Riley Hart do an amazing job of capturing the emotion of these two on this journey. I laughed and cried and swooned my way Ever After and I loved every second of it.

Ever After was everything I hoped for and more! Two wonderful men, one a prince and one a poor employee, finding their happily ever after! It is romantic and charming and one I know I will read again and again just to revisit these two, a new favorite for sure!

EXCERPT

“Now you are all set,” Cassius remarked, slipping the national Evergreen sash over Merrick’s neck and adjusting it over his shoulder.

Merrick was entertaining the Duke of Cairn this morning for brunch. The king would be joining them this afternoon for ice fishing on the property. Apparently, the royal family of Cairn were avid fishermen, and when the king mentioned it a few weeks back on his visit, Merrick’s father told them about Evergreen’s abundance of freshwater trout. Merrick did not exactly enjoy the sport, but Cairn was Evergreen’s closest ally, and it was important to entertain them properly while they discussed pressing matters, including Merrick’s royal visit to their lovely countryside in the coming months.

“At breakfast I overheard the cooks going on about how handsome the duke is,” Cassius mentioned casually as he smoothed down Merrick’s coat and then picked at some lint on the lapel.

The change in topic threw Merrick, and when he did not respond, Cassius glanced up curiously at him. Merrick smirked as he wrapped his hands around Cassius’s waist and pulled him closer. “You are jealous.”

“Of course not!” he declared as his neck turned beet red. “I was only relaying the gossip in the castle.”

“Hmmm, that’s very peculiar since you’ve never seemed to be affected by gossip before,” Merrick remarked, backing him against the wardrobe, the innocent look in Cassius’s eyes completely charming.

“What are you doing?” Cassius asked, his gaze flashing toward the closed chamber door.

“I don’t give a flying fig whether the duke is handsome or not. I have never paid him any mind.” Merrick kissed his cheek. “What I do know is that a stunning man is standing before me, driving me completely mad. And I long to take his prick into my mouth.”

Cassius gasped and swayed toward him. Merrick wondered if Cassius felt just as feverish after spending such a sweet and intense moment in the woods the other day. He only dreamed to know more of him before it was too late.

“It is all I thought about last evening after you left me in the parlor room with the conservation committee,” Merrick added with a groan as he gripped the waistband of Cassius’s trousers. “I want you in my bed every night. In my arms. But I know it is an empty wish.”

“We…shouldn’t,” Cassius replied in a gruff voice even as he sank against Merrick, his prick already hard as the steel jousting stick on display in the Great Hall. “You make it quite difficult to properly concentrate on my duties.”

Merrick drew back immediately, searching Cassius’s eyes. “I am sorry. I do not want you to feel any sort of regret.”

“Never.” Cassius grasped Merrick’s hand and placed it against the bulge beneath his zipper. “But now I shall go around all day with the front of my pants uncomfortably tight while you socialize with the handsome duke.”

Merrick hissed and then promptly dropped to his knees before the valet.

Quinn Monahan and Grayson Page have been friends since high school. Despite their differences, they’ve been there for each other through thick and thin. When he finds himself stranded, the unexpected kindness Quinn and Gray show him leads to temporary work and a couch to lay his head. 4.5 Stars

I am a big fan of both Felice Stevens and Christina Lee and together they are just fantastic! I loved these guys and how they grew into their relationship! Full of passion and love, this really was a great read!

Quinn and Gray have been best friends for years and together run a bar called Last Call. They have both had feelings for each other for a long time but have both also been afraid it would ruin their friendship so they kept quiet about their feelings. Then along comes a stranger with stunning green eyes and he catches both Quinn and Gray’s attention. Emery is just trying to get by, living a life on the road with no home. He’s hesitant to accept Quinn’s help and he knows Gray doesn’t trust him but there’s something about these two men. As these three build a friendship together, so much more develops between all three.

I really liked how real these characters felt. Emery and Gray are really so much alike, hiding pain from rough childhoods. And then there’s Quinn, so sweet and positive, bringing light to both Emery and Gray. I loved them together, their struggles and happiness so raw and real. I think the authors have done a great job of bringing together the love that Quinn and Gray have always shared and also how Emery truly fits into that love. Last Call is has scorching chemistry, sweet moments and is a beautiful story of three men finding love together. This was a great read and I hope to see these two collaborate again because I loved it!

“Hey. You don’t believe him, right? He doesn’t know the real you.” Gray wrapped his arms around me, pulling me close. Wordlessly I sought his mouth, needing his solid warmth. Electric sparks showered through me when he crushed our lips together, and I slid my hands through his hair, clutching the silky waves between my fingers.

Heat rose between us as he took my face between the palms of his hands and sucked hungrily at my tongue. I molded my body to his, my dick aching and hard. Our breaths mingled, and I licked at the scratchy, tender skin of Gray’s neck, drinking in the tang of his scent. So strong and warm and male.

A hand touched my back and Emery kissed my neck, then sucked my earlobe into his mouth. I could feel the push of his cock, and I became a trembling mass of sensation, each stroke ramping up my desire.

“The truck is still in the driveway, full of liquor.” Emery panted against my ear.

“Fuck the liquor.” Who could think when Emery’s lips trailed hot kisses down my neck?

“I’d rather fuck you.”

She started reading traditional historical romances as a teenager, then life and law school got in the way. It wasn’t until she picked up a copy of Bertrice Small and became swept away to Queen Elizabeth’s court that her interest in romance novels was renewed.

But somewhere along the way, her reading shifted to stories of men falling in love. Once she picked up her first gay romance, she became so enamored of the character-driven stories and the overwhelming emotion there was no turning back.

Felice lives in New York City with her husband and two children. Her day begins with a lot of caffeine and ends with a glass or two of red wine. Although she practices law, she daydreams of a time when she can sit by a beach and write beautiful stories of men falling in love. If Tristan and West want to heal their broken hearts, they’ll need a considerable amount of trust and courage—not only in themselves but also each other.

4.5 Stars

Christina Lee delivers another emotional, right to the heart story about healing and love! I loved Regret so much and was so excited that she was continuing this series, and I was definitely curious about Tristan. In this book Tristan and West have both experienced great loss in life and are just kind of getting through, but when an unexpected situation throws them together, it may just be the new start both of them need.

I really enjoyed the slow-burn build between West and Tristan. These two have been through some very rough times and both seem to realize that what they really need, at least initially, was friendship. Slowly these two break down walls together and open up to each other. My heart hurt for them both at times, their struggles and pain so very real. But I truly admired these guys too! West is determined to be his own man and have his independence and Tristan is so patient and kind and helpful too.

This is one of those books I truly enjoyed from start to finish! The characters are so well developed and their story is compelling. There isn’t over the top angst in this book, more of a journey of healing for these two men. They certainly have things to overcome and not everything along the way is perfect, but it feels real and raw. I also loved seeing characters from the first book again too, always makes my heart happy! Reawaken is definitely a must read from me, I adored these two together and the happiness they found with each other. For Tristan and West, it was an unexpected journey, but it was beautiful and touching! Another wonderful read from Christina Lee!

“Take yourself out so I can see you,” West suggested with a devilish gleam, and I did a double-take, marveling at the contradiction. Gone was the moody, unsure kid, only to be replaced by the liberated, playful man filled with hope and mischievousness.

“What—right now?” I looked along the shoreline, and outside of a couple of faraway boats, we were virtually alone. Still, I shook my head. “I can’t—”

“Sure you can,” he replied with a smirk. “You look so impressive manning this boat. Distinguished, even. It would be hot to see you holding your cock while your other hand grips the wheel.”

“Goddamn, West,” I ground out as our eyes met briefly. “Haven’t you come into your own… What happened to my quiet and shy companion?”

He laughed and then shrugged. “Guess he finally went after what he needed. And who he wanted.”

When he curved his eyebrow in challenge, I shivered. My gaze panning the shoreline, I already knew I planned on doing precisely what he asked. Fuck, he knew exactly how to light me up and appeal to my whims—all of which seemed to include him in one fashion or another.

I jerked the throttle and reduced to a slower speed before my hand drifted to my shorts. I tugged them just far enough down that the head of my cock was exposed above the waistband as I gripped my shaft.

“Nice,” he murmured in appreciation as he gazed fixedly at my dick. He stood, sidled next to me, and dragged his fingers along my shoulder blades, making the hairs on my neck stand up. Thankfully there was a glass partition that extended along the sides of the steering wheel, so unless you had a direct view, you wouldn’t realize that I held my cock in my fist.

West’s fingers slid beneath the waistband and into my crease.

“So hot,” he whispered in my ear.

“Fuck,” I groaned, arching my back.

BLURB

Ben Emerson has lived by his minister father’s rules most of his life. Born into an ultra-conservative church community, he’s finally brave enough to break free and move to San Francisco. Distancing himself certainly helps create a new mindset, but living as an openly gay man takes some getting used to. When he reaches out to Xavier, a childhood friend who lives in the city, Ben isn’t sure how he’ll respond given their thorny history. Ben hopes the familiar connection will help him right some wrongs as well as provide the solace he’s been craving.

Xavier Ramos is who he is, and he doesn’t give a damn what anyone thinks. Whether it’s eyeliner, nail polish, tattoos or his love of hooking up, he uses his body as a form of self-expression but doesn’t let anyone get too close. When Ben reenters his life, Xavier helps him experience the city and feel comfortable in his own skin. Seeing the world through Ben’s eyes, he begins to wonder if he’s also not living as freely as he thought.

When Xavier challenges Ben’s beliefs about sex, it becomes explosive—for both of them. Xavier breaks apart Ben’s sheltered world and shows him what it’s like to live out loud. The more time they spend together, the more Xavier begins to long for Ben in a different way—one that both surprises and scares him. But real life doesn’t fade into the background, so when Ben’s past comes knocking, old habits are hard to break. Testing the foundation of their deepening connection will take a trust that will either bind them…or tear them apart.

I’m a huge fan of second chance romances and Living Out Loud is the perfect example of why! This is a story of two childhood friends who lost touch as teenagers and after many years have the chance to reconnect. I loved Ben and Xavier, they are both such sweet, wonderful guys who definitely deserve happiness.

Ben comes from a very religious family, his father is a minister in a very conservative small town church. They have a strict set of beliefs that they force on Ben, making him think he is wrong and sinful to be attracted to men. Xavier’s dad and step mother don’t really care what he does, they throw money at him but not love. Ben and Xavier are friends as kids, that kind of friendship where you really know that other person, like know one else does. But one day when Xavier acts on his attraction to his friend and kisses him Ben rejects him and in that moment everything changes.

Years later, Ben has moved to San Francisco to finally try to live the live he wants, out and proud. He knows Xavier lives in the city and reaches out to him, hoping to re-connect with his friend. Xavier is shocked to hear from Ben for sure, his rejection still stings but the two start talking and their friendship comes back naturally. Ben is naive and inexperienced, still trying to let go of the awful things his father and his church did to him, and when he finds out that Xavier is all about the pleasures of life, he asks for his help. The two start out with the intention of keeping it all physical but both men quickly find themselves feeling more than they ever expected.

I loved these two together, even with their issues Ben and Xavier seem to bring out the best in each other! Xavier gives Ben the confidence to be who he really is and express himself, while Ben softens Xavier and brings love into his life. These guys definitely have smoking hot chemistry, but they have a gentleness and sweetness together too. I loved seeing these two heal and grow together, embracing all the good together. I really enjoyed their journey, Christina Lee and Nyrae Dawn have delivered a wonderful, touching story with so many FEELS! Great characters that I fell in love with and story of healing and love and acceptance that definitely is a must-read!

“Get your ass down here.” He frowns and I pat the floor beside me. “I’m serious, B. Get your ass down here. You can take it off when I’m done if you don’t like it. How do you know if something’s your style if you’ve never done it?”

I blow on my fingernails trying to get them to dry. Ben doesn’t move right away, but then he slides down to the floor beside me.

My pulse kicks up a notch. I don’t know why I want this so much for him.

He puts his hand on the table and I paint the first nail.

“I feel stupid,” he tells me.

“Do you think I look stupid with it?”

“Hell no. You look hot but—”

“But nothing. Be quiet and let me work.”

He chuckles. “You’re bossy.”

“You ain’t seen nothing yet,” I reply before getting back to work on his nails. His fingers are long, thicker than mine. His hands are beat up from his work, rough and abused with little scratches on them. “I can’t wait till you can touch me. I love rough hands.”

“Oh shit,” he says with a thickness to his voice that tells me he’s getting turned on again.

I finish the first hand before saying, “Now, the other.” He sets that hand on the table, but I grab it, suck one of his fingers into my mouth, even though I hadn’t planned to touch him again tonight.

“Fuck, Xavier,” he says and his eyes roll back in a way that really gets me hard.

“Good?”

“Yes.”

“You’re trembling,” I tell him as his hand gently shakes.

“That’s because I’m really turned on right now.”

BLURB

When Brian “Brin” Schubert’s condo floods, he takes his co-worker up on the offer to stay on his crappy futon for a while. The last thing he expects is for his friend’s roommate to be the one guy he despises the most. The same guy who stomped on his heart senior year of high school. And by the looks of the girl on his arm, the same man who’s still deep inside the closet.

Nicholas Dell never predicted that eleven years later, one of his greatest regrets would show up on his doorstep down on his luck. Nick has made some terrible mistakes—story of his life—and he’s been paying for them ever since. And if the guilt and shame aren’t enough, his first crush had to turn into one of the sexiest men he’s ever laid eyes on.

Nick and Brin have weeks to steer clear of each other. Weeks to avoid strangling each other. But when stubbornness leads to skyrocketing sexual tension, hate-sex doesn’t seem like such an awful way to work through their frustration. Except hate is a powerful emotion, especially when it’s turned inward. And in Nick’s case he’s been drowning in a sea of self-loathing for so long, he can’t see his way out.

As Brin reconnects with Nick, his perception of what really happened in their past begins to change. He’s finally ready to forgive him and take a second chance on the one guy who stirs him like no other. But Nick’s demons are complicated, heart-wrenching…demanding. So devastating, he might never allow himself true happiness—even with the one man who’s always owned his heart.

I absolutely loved this book and I can tell you right now that Brin and Nick are going on the favorites list! This book was just everything and got me right in the heart! I’m a huge fan of the enemies-to-lovers trope, I love the passion found in those relationships and Christina Lee nails it 100%!! This story really wasn’t what I expected initially but holy moly I absolutely adored it!

When Brin’s condo floods due to a burst pipe he needs a place to stay for a few weeks while they are making repairs and it’s his best friend and co-worker Elijah who offers up his place. He has a roommate Brin hasn’t met but it’s only a few weeks so it shouldn’t be an issue. But when Brin finally meets the roommate, he’s stunned to see Nick, a guy he knew from high school, the guy he tutored and messed around with and the guy who broke his heart. Nick is just as shocked to see Brin but he hopes he may be able to finally get the chance to apologize. The two try to get along, just for the few weeks Brin is staying there and as they do the walls come down and the truth comes out.

I loved Brin and Nick, absolutely freaking adored them but Nick was not at all what I expected. This poor guy is so very broken, trying to ‘make up for’ a tragic past that he doesn’t believe he deserves to be happy himself. When Brin comes back into his life, everything in his attempt at an orderly world comes crashing down all around him. My heart ached for him and what he was dealing with, the pain that never seemed to leave. Together though, these two are something so special! Brin doesn’t want to let Nick in again, he doesn’t think he can take that heartbreak twice, but the man is already in his heart. As they work through their past and their pain they learn more about each other and finally Nick reveals his pain to Brin, making him finally understand.

This wasn’t the easiest read, it absolutely shattered my heart at times (just get the tissues ready) but it was so very emotional and beautiful. Brin and Nick are such well developed, wonderful characters and their journey together is real and raw. As they come to understand each other and heal the love between these two just melted me. This was a story I felt, not just read, it’s one that went straight to my heart and I know it will stay there. Ms. Lee does an amazing job of bringing these characters to life and filling with so much emotion it is felt off the pages. I adored this book from beginning to end, it’s one of those books that as soon as I finished I wanted to start again just to experience it all one more time.

EXCERPT

“Brin, let me introduce you to my roommate,” Elijah said as I followed him through the short hallway to the living room. “This is Nick and his friend, Sarah.”

Sarah’s curly locks were nearly as blond as mine and Nick’s black hair was mostly tucked beneath a worn blue baseball cap. The two of them were cozy on the couch, Sarah sitting with her legs tucked under her and Nick with his ankle crossed over his knee. They were eating Chinese food off paper plates resting in their laps. Sarah simply waved as her mouth was full from a bite of food but Nick responded, “Hey, how you doing?” after swallowing a piece of what looked like an egg roll.

The smell of fried rice hit my nostrils and when my stomach rumbled in response, I realized just how famished I was. I was dying to dive right into the second brown bag resting on the coffee table that more than likely contained my food, but I didn’t want to be rude.

When Nick leaned forward with an outstretched hand, for some reason I zeroed right in on the neatly groomed scruff on his chin. When he tilted his face to look directly into my eyes, I froze, our fingers interlocked. A startled gasp sprang from my lips, and Nick’s eyebrows slammed together in confusion right before they lifted straight to his hairline.

The same cherry-colored lips, with a center dimple drilled into his chin. Those sad, amber-colored eyes that shuttered out the world.

Holy fuck. Elijah’s roommate was Nicholas Dell.

The same Nicholas Dell from Jefferson High who practically ruined me for other guys.

The same Devil’s third baseman that begged his math tutor to suck his cock in the locker room after practice.

And given the female nestled up beside him, it was the same Nicholas Dell who was still deep in the closet.
