Verity_Amazon_iBooks.jpg

Lowen Ashleigh is a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin when she accepts the job offer of a lifetime. Jeremy Crawford, husband of bestselling author Verity Crawford, has hired Lowen to complete the remaining books in a successful series his injured wife is unable to finish.

Lowen arrives at the Crawford home, ready to sort through years of Verity’s notes and outlines, hoping to find enough material to get her started. What Lowen doesn’t expect to uncover in the chaotic office is an unfinished autobiography Verity likely didn’t intend for anyone to read. Page after page of bone-chilling admissions, including Verity’s recollection of the night their family was forever altered.

Lowen decides to keep the manuscript hidden from Jeremy, knowing its contents would devastate the already grieving father. But as Lowen’s feelings for Jeremy begin to intensify, she recognizes all the ways she could benefit if he were to read his wife’s words. After all, no matter how devoted Jeremy is to his injured wife, a truth this horrifying would make it impossible for him to continue to love her.

VERITY TEASER THREE.jpg

Excerpt:

“What are you wearing?” Corey is staring down at my shirt, perplexed, just now noticing it despite having spent the last fifteen minutes with me.

I look down at my oversized shirt. For a moment, I forgot how ridiculous I look. “I spilled coffee on my other shirt this morning and had to change.”

“Whose shirt is that?”

I shrug. “Probably yours. It was in my closet.”

“You left your house in that? There wasn’t something else you could have worn?”

“It doesn’t look high fashion?” I’m being sarcastic, but he doesn’t catch it.

He makes a face. “No. Is it supposed to?”

Such an ass. But he’s good in bed, like most assholes.

I’m actually relieved when the conference room door opens and a woman walks in. She’s followed, almost comically, by an older man walking so closely behind her, he bumps into the back of her when she stops.

“Goddammit, Barron,” I hear her mumble.

I almost smile at the idea of Goddammit Barron actually being his name.

Jeremy enters last. He gives me a small nod that goes unnoticed by everyone else.

The woman is dressed more appropriately than I am on my best day, with short black hair and lipstick so red, it’s a little jarring at nine thirty in the morning. She seems to be the one in charge as she reaches for Corey’s hand, and then mine, while Goddammit Barron looks on. “Amanda Thomas,” she says. “I’m an editor with Pantem Press. This is Barron Stephens, our lawyer, and Jeremy Crawford, our client.”

Jeremy and I shake hands, and he does a good job of pretending we didn’t share an extremely bizarre morning. He quietly takes the seat across from me. I try not to look at him, but it’s the only place my eyes seem to want to travel. I have no idea why I’m more curious about him than I am about this meeting.

Amanda pulls folders out of her briefcase and slides them in front of Corey and me.

“Thank you for meeting with us,” she says. “We don’t want to waste your time, so I’ll cut right to the chase. One of our authors is unable to fulfill a contract due to medical reasons, and we’re in search of a writer with experience in the same genre who may be interested in completing the three remaining books in her series.”

I glance at Jeremy, but his stoic expression doesn’t hint at his role in this meeting.

“Who is the author?” Corey asks.

“We’re happy to go over the details and terms with you, but we do ask that you sign the non-disclosure agreement. We would like to keep our author’s current situation out of the media.”

“Of course,” Corey says.

I acquiesce, but I say nothing as we both look over the forms and then sign them. Corey slides them back to Amanda.

“Her name is Verity Crawford,” she says. “I’m sure you’re familiar with her work.”

Corey stiffens as soon as they mention Verity’s name. Of course we’re familiar with her work. Everyone is. I hazard a glance in Jeremy’s direction. Is Verity his wife? They share a last name. He said downstairs that his wife is a writer. But why would he be in a meeting about her? A meeting she isn’t even here for?

“We’re familiar with the name,” Corey says, holding his cards close.

“Verity has a very successful series we would hate to see go unfinished,” Amanda continues. “Our goal is to bring in a writer who is willing to step in, finish the series, complete the book tours, press releases, and whatever else is normally required of Verity. We plan to put out a press release introducing the new co-writer while also preserving as much of Verity’s privacy as possible.”

 4.5 Stars
Andrew Grey delivers a touching and powerful story about healing and love in this newest addition to the Carlisle Deputy series! Chris and Pavle are wonderful characters who are just so easy to love. I think Pavle will always have a special place in my heart!
Chris is a Sheriff’s Deputy and his first assignment is to protect Pavle, a young man recently rescued after being a victim of human trafficking. He’s a key witness with a lot of information. He’s already been in a couple safe houses but someone is after him and putting him with Chris seems to be the safest option. As Chris and Pavle adjust to each other, they both learn a lot from each other, especially about real love.
These two together went straight to my heart! Pavle has been through so many awful, horrible things and while we get pieces of what he experienced, I liked seeing him get to experience new and happy things. I loved seeing him heal and get to make his own choices, it was just beautiful. Chris is amazing as well, he has such patience with Pavle and works hard to make sure Pavle understands things and continually proves that he will keep him safe. As these two fall in love with each other, there are definitely hurdles, but it’s easy to see how real their love is. I think Andrew Grey has delivered a very moving read and it’s easily one of my favorites! A definite must read.

A modern telling of a classic tale…

This isn’t a typical love story. This is a story of what happens when love is so powerful and all-consuming that it has the ability to destroy everyone involved. It’s definitely not pretty and it’s certainly not a fairytale, but it’s their story and it couldn’t be told any other way.

Sex, love and revenge! And a whole lot of drama, oh my! I don’t exactly know how I feel about this story to be honest, it wrecked my heart and it made my heart happy. There is love and loss and tragedy and these two authors weave one hell of a tale!

I have to admit that I haven’t read Wuthering Heights so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. This is not your typical romance novel and it takes place over three time periods. This book shows that not everyone gets that HEA but it also shows the power of love, the good and bad. I loved the writing, I felt sucked into this story and these characters, felt their pain. In the end, it was Heath that stole my heart and it surprised the hell out of me.

A complex and angsty read, Heath was fantastic!

I adore a second chance romance. I mean it is one of my absolute favorites to read. Throw in a Kristen Proby second chance romance? Yeah I’m onboard even more!! I loved every word of Tempting Brooke! Brody was the guy who couldn’t wait to blow outta his hometown, though he had more than just escaping a small town on his agenda. Coming back brings him face to face with the girl that he never forgot, and lots of memories. Reconnecting as adults with obvious chemistry proves to Brody that sometimes you can go home, and sometimes perspective makes some of the bad memories not so vivid. Truly just a beautiful story of love, second chances and new beginnings.

CHECK OUT THIS EXCERPT FROM TEMPTING BROOKE:

“Hello?” Brody calls through the screen.

“Hey.” I hold it open, gesturing for him to come inside. “Enter at your own risk. I’m living inside an oven.”

“Is your air conditioning broken?” he asks, but my eyes are on the cold beer and pizza in his hands.

“No, I don’t have it. Are we having a party?”

“The game’s on,” he says with a grin. “It’s been a while since we watched the Cubs together, so   I grabbed some game food and came right over.”

I feel the smile slip over my lips. He thought to come here to watch the game with me.

Brody always was the sweetest guy I knew. Seems that hasn’t changed.

“Fun,” I reply. “I’ll grab some plates. We should sit on the floor.”

“Why?”

“It’s cooler down there.”

He blinks at me, considering, and then shrugs one shoulder and sets the pizza in the middle of the floor, sits, and opens the box.

“Thin crust pepperoni,” he says. “I hope this is still your favorite.”

“It is. I’ll be right back.” I hurry into the kitchen to get the plates, and take a moment to lean on the countertop, my hand over my chest, to catch my breath. If he keeps this up, I’ll fall in love with him, and that can only lead to disaster.

  He’s leaving.

“The Cubs are winning,” he calls from the other room. I grab our plates and join him, sitting a few feet away, and reach for a slice of pizza.

“O’Shaughnessy has been badass this year.”

“He’s badass every year,” I reply around a bite of food, and then laugh when he frowns at me.   “What? It’s true.”

“Hmm.” He swigs his beer, and we fall into a comfortable silence, eating and watching baseball. “Oh, come on! You should have caught that!”

“You always did get riled up watching baseball.”

He smiles at me, then wipes his mouth with a napkin. “There’s no other way to watch it. God, you weren’t kidding. It’s damn hot in here.”

“I know, I’m sorry. We could go somewhere else to watch the game.”

“No, I like having you to myself,” he replies, surprising me. “I’ll just take my shirt off.”

Before I can find enough brain cells to form a sentence, he whips his shirt over his head and tosses it onto the couch.

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. Times a million.

I blink rapidly, trying not to stare at the tanned, toned, muscley goodness that is Brody Chabot, but it’s impossible.

He’s like the most glorious work of art in the world, and I’d challenge anyone to be able to look away.

His arms, his abs, his freaking shoulders, flex as he moves to grab another slice of pizza. How he can eat while all of my synapses are exploding one by one is beyond me.

I think I just lost all bodily function.

And I haven’t even seen him all the way naked. This is just the upper half.

I bite my lip and take a sip of my beer, trying to distract myself.

4.5 Stars

I love this series from Andrew Grey! He features characters with disabilities but he does not limit or pity these characters, they are strong and Duncan is no exception. He was injured in a skeleton accident that left him unable to walk, he’s back living with his mother and struggling to come to terms with what happened to him. But then his friend, and fellow skeleton racer, Todd comes by to say hi and get Duncan back out into the world. Todd’s presence brings so much to Duncan but as the two go beyond friendship Duncan worries if he is enough for Todd.

One of my favorite things about Andrew Grey is the sincerity of his characters and I felt that so much with Todd. He is such a good person with a beautiful heart. He has his own goals and dreams and yes, he’s working on those, but he does so much to show Duncan how much he loves him and encourages him and keeps building him up – he totally stole my heart! I loved these guys and I loved their journey, the way they fight for each other and support each other. This is one of those reads that just made my heart happy (something that Andrew Grey has just mastered!) and while they face challenges, they handle them together. I loved getting to see the guys from the previous books as well, always makes me smile. Another fantastic read from Andrew Grey and a wonderful addition to this series!

Review

4 – 4-.5 Stars

All for You is another great read from Andrew Grey! I always know when I pick up one of his books I won’t be disappointed and this book is a great example of why I love his words and characters. Reggie is the new sheriff of a small town, he’s gay and he doesn’t hide it but he doesn’t necessarily advertise it either. Especially in this conservative town. Willy is the son of Reverend Gabriel, who is known for his hard beliefs and running the town, he expects people to obey, but Willy is tired of living that life. He knows he is gay but is afraid of what will happen if his father finds out. A chance meeting between Reggie and Willy leads to much more than either man ever expected, but do they stand a chance together?

I loved these characters so much, right from the start. Reggie and Willy are so very different and seem like an unlikely couple, but I loved them together. Reggie is so confident and protective, not just of Willy but the city he is supposed to protect and Willy is young and naive but he is finding his way, especially with Reggie’s strength behind him. While there is a bit of back and forth between them, it’s pretty clear to see that these two are just meant to be. I especially loved seeing Willy’s confidence grow, finally understanding who he wants to be and standing up for himself.

Andrew Grey adds a good amount of drama in this story as well as Reggie, and Willy, try to find out some of the darker things happening in their small community. I enjoyed following that side of the story as well! A great read that showcases the power of love!

Excerpt

The reverend stood straight and met Reggie’s gaze. “And you feel free to do the same. My office and church are always open.”

“That’s great to know.” Reggie waited while the reverend looked to his left, and a man who had been sitting on one of the benches joined him.

Willy. It was Willy from the bar. Reggie opened his mouth to say something when the reverend turned back to him.

“Sheriff, this is my son, William.”

Willy looked even more scared than he had sitting at that table between the two rats. He was pale, his eyes downcast and his right hand shaking a little. Jesus, he was Reverend Gabriel’s son. Reggie was willing to bet that the reverend was not one of those new age, more enlightened men of the cloth. Somehow he didn’t think Reverend Gabriel had any sort of live-and-let-live attitude about gay people.

“It’s good to meet you.” Reggie extended his hand, and Willy blinked, seeming to realize that his life wasn’t going to come to an end.

“You too, sir.” They shook hands.

“What do you do?” Reggie asked.

Reverend Gabriel cleared his throat. “William will be following in my footsteps. He and I have spoken at length regarding his future, and we have come to an understanding.”

William didn’t argue, but he didn’t agree either.

“Have a good day, Sheriff.” Father and son left the station, and Reggie turned to the others, who were all watching him with wide eyes.

“Is something wrong?” he asked the room, and they all immediately returned to their work, so Reggie went back to his office. A throat clearing nervously drew his gaze up from his desk. “Yes, Marie?”

“Umm.” She now had that scared rabbit look. “I have the memos done.” She handed them to him and looked outside the room. “You… I…. Well… I’m going to miss you.”

Reggie narrowed his eyes. “Where am I going?”

“He… the reverend… well, he pretty much decides what happens here. People listen to him, and so do the town leaders. They’ll fire you if he says so.” She quivered like a leaf. “And you were doing such good things here already.”

“Don’t worry, Marie. Nothing of the kind is going to happen. First thing, I’m very good at what I do and will build a competent and well-run sheriff department if I have to do it from the ground up. And second, I have a sister who is married to the governor’s son. I can get a message to Sacramento that will be listened to within the capitol faster than the reverend can pass out communion wafers. That’s part of the reason I’m here.” Reggie leaned back in the chair. “I never use that connection unless I have to, which is part of the reason it’s very effective when I do. So don’t worry.” He looked over the memos, approved them, and handed them back. “Please get them to everyone today. Thank you.”

One thing was for certain—no one was going to get away with bullying him.

“I will, and there’s a call that just came in.” She handed him the details, and he got up and left the office, heading out to the scene of an apparent motorcycle race.

I felt like this book really was a journey through life. It’s not just a romance read, it’s so much more than that. This is a story about growing up, learning about who you are, falling in love, having your heart broken and once again learning about who are you.

When we first meet Owen, he’s 19 and in the closet, afraid of his father finding out that he is gay. He has his best friend Andy,  and then he meets Jack. He quickly falls in love, but Jack is deep in the closet too so it doesn’t make it easy for these two to experience love. When Jack disappears from Owen’s life he experiences that heart break. But life goes on and so does he, and his still has Andy by his side.

This story was slower than I expected, it really was a journey of self discovery for Owen and once I got used to the pace, I really enjoyed it. I felt myself riding the ups and downs with Owen, my heart aching for him and hoping that he would his happy. It was the last third of this story that really did it for, I totally fell in love and wanted to cheer for Owen. He finally finds what he’s been looking for and it made my heart so freaking happy. It wasn’t exactly what I expected when I started this book but Looking Forward was a wonderful, touching read that I definitely recommend!

EXCERPT

I shook even more as I picked up the handset and dialed the ten digits for his area code and phone number. The call wouldn’t connect. I feared for a moment that he had purposely given me the wrong number. Maybe he didn’t want me calling him after all. Then I remembered, since this was long distance, I had to dial the number one first.

I laid the receiver back into the cradle and scrubbed my hand through my hair, willing myself to calm down. Jack wouldn’t be able to see my fear from over the phone, but there was every likelihood that he would be able to hear it.

I took the receiver out of the cradle and dialed the eleven digits. My heart beat faster as the phone rang, and I almost chickened out and hung up.

Almost.

The other end was picked up on the fourth ring. A woman answered, clearly out of breath. “Hello.”

I was momentarily confused. In my head, he would answer, and we would spend my break catching up. I had not expected someone else to answer, especially not a woman.

What if she was his girlfriend? How would I explain myself?

“Hello?” she repeated.

He wouldn’t have given me his number if he didn’t think it would be safe for me to call. Or at least, that’s what I reasoned.

“Is Jack in?”

“Yeah. Hold on a sec.”

Then I heard her muffle the mouthpiece, but I was still able to hear her call his name.

Soon enough, I heard a voice that I recognized coming from the other end. “Hello?”

“Jack?” I said, still slightly confused, and hoping that I hadn’t just caused some problem for him by calling.

“Speaking.”

“Jack, it’s Owen.”

I heard his breath catch on the other end of the phone line, and there was a second or two of delay. Panic started to bloom. This was a mistake. He wouldn’t remember me. Why would he? I was just some kid from Toledo that he’d met in a bar weeks ago. I’d allowed too much time to pass and had lost any chance I had, if I’d had any at all. “Owen?”

I twisted the phone cord around my finger, an old habit I’d developed when I was nervous on the phone. That panic came full force at his question. He didn’t remember me. This call was pointless. “From Toledo,” I reminded him.

Jack chuckled. “I remember. I don’t meet too many Owens.”

Some of that panic eased off but didn’t dissipate entirely. This could still go horribly wrong very quickly. I still didn’t know what I was doing calling him. What if that connection I had felt the night before Thanksgiving was all in my head? I’d be the fool that had placed the call. He’d talk about me to all his friends, tell them about this little homo that was stalking him from the other side of the state. They’d all laugh at my expense, and I’d never know. Or he could tell Andy, and he’d never let me forget how I’d basically come on to his straight cousin.

Yet, he had given me his number. And those words. I reread the napkin. Can you feel it?

I paused, pulling in a deep breath and slowly exhaling. I could do this. This wasn’t a big deal if I didn’t make it one. “No, I can’t imagine you do. It’s not a very common name.”

“No, it’s not. It’s very memorable.”

“I was actually named after my grandfather, if you can believe that.”

“Really?”

“Yeah. Sort of a family tradition. My father is named after his grandfather, and my grandfather after his. It’s weird.”

“No, not really. It’s actually kind of cool. Like, legacy. You have a connection to your family that will never go away.”

“I never thought of it like that. I’ve honestly always hated the name.” And wasn’t that a total bitch. If my father ever found out that his only son was gay, he would totally disown me, and I’d still have this name.

“You shouldn’t. It’s unique. It sets you apart. How many people have you known named Jack?”

I laughed. “That’s true. A lot.”

“Exactly my point. In a world full of Jacks, be an Owen.”

Why did that warm my heart so much?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I’m the oldest of three, from the Glass Capital of the world, Toledo Ohio.

Don’t laugh too hard.

I’ve dreamed of writing since I was eleven years old when I wrote a truly awful Choose-Your-Own-Adventure. It sold exactly zero copies. I think my mother may have a copy lying around somewhere. Mothers keep that kind of thing.

Through junior high and high school, I wrote a number of short stories, one actually published in the first (and only) issue of his high school’s literary magazine.

Life took control shortly thereafter, as it often does, and the dream of writing was put on hold. Then, in November of 2016, I took a leap of faith, and began writing my first novel as part of the National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) competition. The goal of the competition is to write a 50,000-word novel in a thirty-day period.

I failed.

However, on the advice of a friend, I “pushed through”. And so, in September of 2017, my first novel was published.

3.5 Stars

I enjoyed this book, it has solid characters that I liked and good story that kept me reading. I really enjoyed the scenery and descriptions, it made me want to plan a trip to the beach! Jeremy and Ollie had a great connection and I felt for them as they found their HEA together.

Jeremy is an interesting character, he is a believer in Taoism and that there is a path he is supposed to follow. He is a go-with-the-flow kind of guy and thinks he knows his direction. But that direction changes when a family member dies and he has to return to his hometown to see his family and deal with that death. He gets scammed by people he thinks are friends and ends up working with specialist Ollie as he tries to solve the crime. Ollie is focused on the trial of his app to help solve crimes, but once he meets Jeremy his focus definitely changes. These two think they have a quick fling and then each return home, but feelings develop far faster than either of them expect.

These two are great together, even as different as they are. You can definitely feel the connection they have and no matter hard they try to fight their real feelings, and oh they do, they are definitely falling for each other. I enjoyed some of the twists in this story and how they worked through them. It’s not always easy for these two and I felt for the their struggles, but it came together in a very sweet way. Overall, an enjoyable summer read!

EXCERPT

Ollie couldn’t stop thinking about their witness, Jeremy. The guy was too cute and entirely too laid back. “What do you think about Jeremy’s case?” he asked Walker as they walked into the precinct.

“Never going to find his car. You shouldn’t have given him false hope.”

“Yeah, I couldn’t help it.” He stuffed his phone in his pocket.

Walker stopped and looked at him, grabbing his shoulder. “What? You do like the guy? I mean like-like?”

“He’s cute.” Ollie shrugged. He wanted to play like he was calm and laid back like Jeremy, but he wasn’t. Not at all. The old saying about butterflies in the stomach seemed more like a fact than a literary description.

“I was teasing, but… Seriously, ask him out.”

Ollie huffed. “You know I can’t. At least not until we close his part of this bullshit.”

“Nah. You’re just here for the data. You’re not a detective. Ask him out.”

Ollie shook his head. He wasn’t entirely sure if he wanted dating Jeremy to be a conflict of interest or not. He hadn’t dated anyone. Not in a long time. Not really, not ever. What was he doing, anyway? “He lives too far away. I’ll be back in New York in a month. Easy.”

“That’s an excuse. If you like him. Go out with him. Hell, maybe getting laid would do you good.”

Ollie snorted. “That’s for sure.” He knew exactly how long it had been since he’d gotten any. Hookups he could do, and in New York, they’d been frequent enough. Plus, he had Corey Bishop. A good friend and in for a good fuck if they were both unattached and needing release. It was nice to have a friend he could count on, have sex with occasionally, but wouldn’t ever ask or expect more than that from them. In Jacksonville? None. Nada. Nothing. La negative. Not even Corey, since he was back in New York.

Walker bumped into his side. “Go for it.”

Ollie watched him walk away. He bit at his lip. He did want to see Jeremy again. Wanted to see those sapphire eyes, wide open, as he came apart. Wanted to hear that sweet voice, not humming or singing, but calling out. Maybe calling Ollie’s name. “Maybe I will.” Maybe they could be a fun hookup while he was in Jacksonville. At least until Jeremy went back home. Even if it was a conflict of interest, hell, Ollie never gave a damn about what anyone else said, anyway. He made his own rules.

Review

4 – 4.5 Stars
There is something about Andrew Grey’s characters that makes them just go straight to my heart and Robert and Zeke are among my faves! I loved these two and their journey! Two men famous in the real world, just wanting a bit of peace and real life aside from the limelight.
I felt for these two right away, granted they are living their dreams but they are also struggling for something real and away from the fame side. Robert is a successful country music singer, Zeke a bull rider and it was supposed to be one quick night, but then these two find themselves working together on Zeke’s ranch and everything changes.
These two build a great relationship together, away from the spotlight. They are dealing with things as they come but of course the celebrity factor has to play a part in their story! They live very different, demanding lives and it’s going to be a test to see if they are really meant to be.
I loved this book, there was action and romance and the drama wasn’t over the top, it was a part of their journey! I wanted these two to be happy, to find that love and peace that they both so desperately needed! Andrew Grey delivers another story that I fell in love with and could not put down!

4 – 4.5 Stars

Another Andrew Grey book I absolutely fell in love with! I love his style and the way he delivers a story that just goes right to my heart, and Andrew and Clay definitely did just that!

Clay is a Sheriff’s Deputy who wants to protect, Andrew is a judge who doesn’t put up with any nonsense, what he says goes. But when a crazy and dangerous criminal escapes, he starts making threats towards Andrew and Clay is assigned to protect the prickly judge. But at these two start to spend time together, Clay quickly sees Andrew isn’t as prickly outside the courtroom. The two get close as Clay does everything he can to protect Andrew and make him feel safe but just as things start to feel okay, another bombshell is dropped in their laps and now Andrew is taking care of his niece and nephew while trying to hide from the crazed wanted man.

I thought this story was exciting and sweet and I couldn’t put it down. The chemistry between these two is great, but there is also genuine heart and caring between them. I loved seeing both guys with the kids, learning how to care for them. There was the perfect mix of action and romance and once again proved why I adore Andrew Grey’s books! I enjoyed the twists and turns, just enough to keep me guessing and finally a perfect ending! A definite must read!

Excerpt

“Thank you, Sheriff. I appreciate you providing some security,” Judge Andrew Phillips said into the phone, still sitting in his hotel room, getting ready to go to the courthouse just down the street.

“Deputy Brown will meet you in your courtroom in half an hour. He’ll provide protection while you’re at work, as well as at your home. You’ll need to have a room he can use while he’s there.”

“Brown.” Andrew thought a minute and pursed his lips. He remembered this particular deputy. An impatient control freak. Just great. “I know him.”

“Yes, I’m sure you do.”

“Isn’t there anyone else?” Andrew wasn’t sure he wanted that guy in his house.

“Clay is a superb deputy, and he’ll protect you to the best of his ability. With three deputies out because of the attack, and our regular duties, I’m short on personnel. He’s willing to do the job, which is 24-7. That’s a lot to ask of anyone. You could hire your own security.”

Damn him for the veiled threat. Andrew was smart enough to know he wasn’t going to get a different answer, and he needed some protection. He’d been up all night, jumping at every sound, hoping it wasn’t Harper Grange coming to get him.

“All right. Thank you.” He ended the call. There was no point in prolonging it, and he needed to get over to the courthouse.

Andrew got his things together, checked out of the hotel room, and took his bag along with him as he walked across the street with the others heading to the court. He kept looking over his shoulder the entire time until he was inside past security. He went right up the stairs to his courtroom and into his chambers, closing the door and breathing deeply, his heart racing.

“Judge Phillips. I’m here to provide security until Harper Grange is apprehended.”

He turned, recognizing Clay. God in heaven, the man got more stunning every single time he saw him. How in the hell was that possible?
