Author: Andrew Grey

Series: Bronco Boys Book 5

Genre: M/M Contemporary Romance

Publisher: DreamSpinner Press

Release Date: April 9 2019

Edition/Format: 1st Edition/Format ~ eBook & Print

Sequel to Round and Round

Opposites attract on an overseas holiday, but trouble has hitched a ride.

While Bronco’s nightclub is closed for renovations, the owners invite the staff on a trip to Italy. Bartender Hank needs a roommate, and he’s had his eye on waiter Grant for a while, even if he’s had to keep his distance. But sharing such close proximity means sparks are sure to fly….

Grant has a problem saying no, and it’s led him into some less-than-healthy relationships. While he’s determined not to repeat his mistakes, it’s clear Hank is different.

They’re both willing to take it slow and explore the feelings building between them, but even in a foreign country, their pasts are catching up, and that could hurt more than just their budding romance.

Over and Back is book 5 in this series, but can easily be read as a standalone. I thought this was a fun and intriguing read, one that has a bit of everything. There’s great chemistry, a bit of angst, sweetness and some good suspense. Oh and the scenery is incredible as well. This book is another example of why Andrew Grey is a go-to author for me.

I really liked Grant and Hank, they are both a little bit broken from previous relationships and leery about getting involved with anyone again, but this trip to Italy throws them together and their attraction to each other is undeniable. It takes some time but they start to open up to each other, getting to know the good stuff and the rough stuff too. Even with their fears, something special develops between them.

One of my favorite things in this book was the open, honest relationship that develops between Grant and Hank. I felt like they really brought out the best in each other and it was easy to see the real love that existed between them right from the start. Grant sees himself as weak and as a pushover, but Hank sees the strength in him and is quick to tell him he sees it. I think there was just the right amount of angst and stresses for this group too, it kept me reading, needing to know more but it wasn’t too much. I absolutely adored the way this story came together for Hank and Grant. I really like this group and would definitely love to spend time with them!

Hank couldn’t believe he had actually agreed to have Grant as a roommate for this trip. Not that he didn’t like the guy. In fact, that was sort of the problem. His first instinct had been to say no and try to figure out how to go alone. Danny would have a fit if he found out Hank was going to be rooming with Grant. Still, how in the hell could he say no? Hank knew from Zach that Grant needed a friend. Hank sure as hell knew what that felt like, and in the end, he’d agreed. After all, they were only going to be roommates. And they’d be an ocean away from Danny and his jealousy. Hank would just need to make sure Danny didn’t find out.

But it was too late to worry about that now. He’d made the decision, and the more he thought about it, the more he realized that he actually felt pretty good, maybe even kind of excited.

He pulled into Bull and Zach’s driveway and parked behind Harry’s Tahoe. Zach had called together a trip-planning meeting so they could go over everything, including the day tours that they’d already booked. Hank was met at the door by Bull, who hugged him and ushered him inside. He seemed to be the last to arrive, and he got hugs from everyone but Grant, who stood off to the side, looking nervous, seemingly interested in the shoes he was wearing.

“Hey, Grant,” Hank said gently.

Huge blue eyes met his for a second. “Hi, Hank.” His voice was really soft, but he gave Hank a little crooked smile. “This is kind of exciting.”

“Okay,” Zach said as he returned from the kitchen, placing trays of small sandwiches on the coffee table. Bull followed with a tray of drinks and set that down as well. “Help yourself to munchies,” Zach said as he passed out a spreadsheet printout. “I went ahead and put together a schedule for the things we’ve already taken care of. But one thing we still need to look at is getting train tickets to Newark. The flight leaves late, so we should be able to take the same-day train from Harrisburg.”

Hank sat down, and Grant took the seat on the sofa next to him. The kid was wound as tight as a drum. If he’s like this the entire trip, it’s going to be one hell of a good time, Hank thought, sarcasm rolling through his head. Grant reached for a can of Diet Coke and sipped from it. Hank grabbed a beer, because right now, he needed one.

“We fly directly to Rome, and we’re booked into a hotel on the outskirts. There’s a subway station not too far away, and we can get into the city that way. We have nothing planned for our first day. It’ll give us time to just rest up for what’s ahead. On Wednesday we have a guided tour of some ancient Roman ruins and the Colosseum in the afternoon, so we can sleep in if jet lag is a problem. On Thursday we have a private group tour of the Vatican Museums and St. Peter’s in the morning, and then I thought we could walk to the Trevi Fountain and Pantheon after lunch.”

“This looks really great,” Hank interrupted. “What’s with Saturday?”

“There’s no need to go over everything that’s already on the sheet,” Bull told Hank gently. “Saturday is Zach’s event. There’s an anime conference, and Zach is signing autographs and meeting fans. He and I will be there most of the day. And we thought that everyone should have some time to do what they wanted.” He squeezed Zach’s hand.

“On Sunday we have a train to Florence, where we’ll spend three full days,” Zach continued. “I put together a schedule based on when things are open. You can look at that. I didn’t know if everyone wanted to go together or on their own. It’s up to you. But I did make reservations for us to climb the cathedral dome on Thursday morning before we leave.”

Book synopsis:
Everything’s bigger in Alaska, especially the HEAs. Annabeth Albert kicks off the brand-new Frozen Hearts series with Arctic Sun, an opposites-attract romance between a rugged outdoorsman and a smoking hot former male model.

He’s built a quiet life for himself in Alaska. But it doesn’t stand a chance against the unrelenting pull of a man who’s everything he shouldn’t want.

Ex-military mountain man Griffin Barrett likes his solitude. It keeps him from falling back into old habits. Bad habits. He’s fought too hard for his sobriety to lose control now. However, his gig as a wildlife guide presents a new kind of temptation in superhot supermodel River Vale. Nothing the Alaskan wilderness has to offer has ever called to Griffin so badly. And that can only lead to trouble…

River has his own methods for coping. Chasing adventure means always moving forward. Nobody’s ever made him want to stand still—until Griffin. The rugged bush pilot is the very best kind of distraction, but the emotions he stirs up in River feel anything but casual, and he’s in no position to stay put.

With temptation lurking in close quarters, keeping even a shred of distance is a challenge neither’s willing to meet. And the closer Griffin gets to River, the easier it is to ignore every last reason he should run.

One-click with confidence. This title is part of the Carina Press Romance Promise: all the romance you’re looking for with an HEA/HFN. It’s a promise!

I really do love Annabeth’s books and definitely enjoyed this one, the setting is absolutely stunning, the characters are complex and their journey is emotional! Griffin and River couldn’t be more different, Griffin is former military and gruff and tough and River is a former male model. They have a few things in common, an intense attraction and a whole lots of issues! These two come packed with serious baggage!

I really liked these two together, even from the start it’s clear there is something special between them. This story touches on some serious issues, addiction and eating disorders, and I think Annabeth Albert does a good job with it. It’s not a quick fix, everything is okay thing, these guys struggle and it takes time. There is love and healing and the way it all comes together is what makes my heart happy!

Check out this teaser: The mountain man scowled at River. The older guy next to him was the one splashed all over the website— well-known photographer Roger Barrett—with the sort of craggy features that suggested a long life lived in the sun. He smiled at River, shaking his hand, and telling him what a fan his sister-in-law and nieces were of his book. But it wasn’t the old guy who held River’s attention at all. No, that was all reserved for Mr. Tall, Dark, and Cranky, who clearly didn’t share Roger’s good opinion of River, but good heavens, the man certainly made all those rumors about mountains and fresh air resulting in larger-than-average humans seem true.

He totally looked the mountain man part too— shaggy brown hair, the sort of tan that River’s friends would pay good money to emulate, hazel eyes that re- minded River of the greenish brown stone of a mosque he’d visited in Istanbul. And muscles for days. Big, broad shoulders stretching the fabric of a denim shirt, thighs like tree trunks, and that scowl. This was a guy who would be at home playing the sheriff in some old west drama. Or maybe a gunslinger…

I feel like I need to start by gushing about how much I loved the scenery in this book! I felt like I was on that bus and one of the tourists! I got lost in the scenery as much as I did the storyline! Andrew Grey has such a fantastic ability to create deep, amazing characters and Robin and Johan are definitely fit the bill!

After a lifetime of heart problems, Robin received a transplant years ago and he knows how precious life is and after enduring a bad breakup he is determined to live his life. He’s known Johan for a while, he’s a bus driver for the tour company, but on this trip everything is different. Johan has cleaned up his appearance and Robin just can’t resist him. It gets complicated though when his crap-bag ex ends up as one of the passengers on the tour.

There really is so much to enjoy about this book, the scenery, the history and of course the relationship between Robin and Johan! The connection between these two is great, it’s sweet and sexy! Johan totally owned my heart though, his view on Robin’s situation, his protectiveness, he just made me swoon! I really enjoyed this book, it’s a feel good read for sure! Another great journey from Andrew Grey!

The bus door opened, and Johan stepped out. Robin’s mouth went dry and he looked longer than was necessary, but he couldn’t help it. Gone was Cousin It with the beard and super long hair. Hello clean-shaven, black hair flowing down to his shoulders, god among men. Robin had no idea what the hell had happened, but one thing was for certain: all the guys, and Lily, turned and gaped as Johan strode off the bus.

“Are you ready for me?” he asked in a soft voice, and it took Robin a second to get his mind out of the gutter.

Robin nodded and swallowed once again. “All the luggage is tagged and ready to be loaded.” He pointed to the line of bags, and Johan nodded, walking over to heft two bags to the bus and load them into the luggage compartment underneath. Robin turned away from where Johan worked and stood by the door to the bus. No one moved, the guys enthralled by Johan, watching him work. Robin cleared his throat, and they seemed to come back from whatever fantasies had gripped them. Not that Robin didn’t understand. He suddenly found himself with his own fantasies, and they weren’t professional in the least.

One by one, Robin checked off each of his tour members as they got on the bus. Javier got on first, half leaping into the bus, then pausing at the top with a sigh as Oliver climbed in more slowly. The ladies all followed, and then the others filed on, with Kyle and Billy bringing up the rear, chatting a mile a minute.

5+ Stars
There is a reason I absolutely freaking love Kindle Alexander and this is why! I loved Havoc but Order, this book is everything! It’s a journey between two people who, on paper, just don’t match but when life and love come together, there couldn’t be a more perfect match. If you haven’t read Havoc, go read it now and then get Order and be prepared to just love Alec and Keyes with everything you have.
This story picks up right where Havoc ends, coming to terms with Alec, who works for the DA’s office and Keyes, who is part of those 1-percenter biker clubs and their relationship. It wasn’t supposed to happen, but it did and now these two are trying to figure out if they can build a life together.
There is so much I loved about this journey. There is passion, chemistry and love, but there are major challenges that Alec and Keyes have to face. At the root of everything though is the way Kindle Alexander can weave a story that will grab your heart and not let go! As with all of their books, I became so attached to these guys that I just had to know what was going to happen. These two are so very opposite but so perfect for each other and no matter what stood in the way I was rooting for them. Drama, angst and true love – that is Keyes and Alec. It’s not the family you are born with, but that family that you find, that’s how I felt about these two together. I feel like every time I read one of their books I think it’s my favorite and this is no different, I love these guys so hard, and if you’re a Kindle fan you’re going to get some great bonus character cameos. It’s an absolute MUST READ!

Best Selling Author Kindle Alexander is an innovative writer, and a genre-crosser who writes classic fantasy, romance, suspense, and erotica in both the male/male and male/female genres. It’s always a surprise to see what’s coming next!
I live in the suburbs of Dallas where it’s true, the only thing bigger than an over active imagination, may be women’s hair!
Usually, I try for funny. Humor is a major part of my life – I love to laugh, and it seems to be the thing I do in most situations – regardless of the situation, but jokes are a tricky deal… I don’t want to offend anyone and jokes tend to offend. So instead I’m going to tell you about Kindle.
I tragically lost my sixteen year old daughter to a drunk driver. She had just been at home, it was early in the night and I heard the accident happen. I’ll never forget that moment. The sirens were immediate and something inside me just knew. I left my house, drove straight to the accident on nothing more than instinct. I got to be there when my little girl died – weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn’t have to be alone.
That time in my life was terrible. It’s everything you think it would be times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have it all ripped away so suddenly broke me.
Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness – it was her name and she died a few weeks before Amazon released their brand new Kindle ereader. She had no idea it was coming out and she would have finally gotten her name on something! Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it.. It never happened.
Through the course of that crippling event I was lucky enough to begin to write with a dear friend in the fan fiction world of Facebook. She got me through those dark days with her unwavering support and friendship. There wasn’t a time she wasn’t there for me. Sometimes together and sometimes by myself, we built a world where Kindle lives and stands for peace, love and harmony. It’s its own kind of support group. I know without question I wouldn’t be here today without her.

3.5 Stars

Oh man, this was a tough and emotional read! I feel like I have come to expect that from this author but it still gets me. Gage and Derrick have always felt something for each other but age and life have always kept them apart. That is until they have to team up to find a missing girl, then it’s time for all those feelings to finally come to light.

The angst, the damage and the love – its all there! Plus some daddy kink (which isn’t always my favorite but this author makes it work). This read was intense and passionate and kept me on the edge, needing to know what was going to happen next. Definitely not the easiest or sweetest read but it packed full of feels and action!

Dishes rattled, and the low murmuring of conversations filled the interior as the lunch rush started to slow down at Heidi’s Diner. Typically, Gage ate alone before returning to the office, but today, he hadn’t turned out to be so lucky.

“How about I buy you dinner, Gage,” the confident young man across the table from him asked.

He stared at the boy as if he’d lost his mind. He slowly closed his laptop and calmly leaned back in the booth. The first time he’d seen Derrick Thorpe the kid was skin and bones, skittish from years of abuse by Derrick’s homophobic and racist father, the former Sheriff of Powers County, Georgia. The last time he’d allowed himself to be in the same space with Derrick, he had graduated from college. His boss, Linus, adopted Derrick and his toddler brother after the death of their father and, well, the mother hadn’t fought Linus when the man demanded she sign over custody.

Today Derrick was a man in his mid-twenties, and even with the pale blond stubble, he was still as pretty as the last time he’d seen him which had occurred Christmas a year ago. He’d made his excuses and went to stay with friends for the holiday. Fighting any of the Crews to get out of a family function always turned into a lost cause, and he’d found it easier to escape.

Gage forced a chuckle and a good-natured smile at the eager boy in front of him, but he felt neither of those actions. Because his greatest hell sat across from him and there was no way he’d ever allow the boy close to him.

“Not going to happen, kid.”

“Why not?” Derrick looked offended.

He wasn’t fucking around with some boy with Daddy issues. No matter how much he wanted to find out what his handprint looked like on the boy’s ass. Derrick wasn’t for him. Age difference aside, with Derrick’s history, he wouldn’t let the young man find out how interested he was.

“Go find someone your own age, Derrick.”

“What’s this got to do with age? I’m an adult, and I think I’m old enough to know what I want.”

He felt the muscles in his jaw clench. He didn’t like telling people no twice. When he made a decision, it was final. This little boy was asking for a spanking. A vision of Derrick over his knee came to mind, and he banished it as quickly as it appeared. This was getting out of hand. That’s why he’d avoided anything that had to do with seeing Derrick.

“And I said it wasn’t happening. I don’t like to repeat myself, Derrick.”

Derrick’s chin lowered to rest on his chest. There was a deep breath, and then Derrick looked up, his dark brown eyes shimmered with indignation.

“Yes, sir,” Derrick pushed the words through clenched teeth.

“What are you wearing?” Corey is staring down at my shirt, perplexed, just now noticing it despite having spent the last fifteen minutes with me.

I look down at my oversized shirt. For a moment, I forgot how ridiculous I look. “I spilled coffee on my other shirt this morning and had to change.”

“Whose shirt is that?”

I shrug. “Probably yours. It was in my closet.”

“You left your house in that? There wasn’t something else you could have worn?”

“It doesn’t look high fashion?” I’m being sarcastic, but he doesn’t catch it.

He makes a face. “No. Is it supposed to?”

Such an ass. But he’s good in bed, like most assholes.

I’m actually relieved when the conference room door opens and a woman walks in. She’s followed, almost comically, by an older man walking so closely behind her, he bumps into the back of her when she stops.

“Goddammit, Barron,” I hear her mumble.

I almost smile at the idea of Goddammit Barron actually being his name.

Jeremy enters last. He gives me a small nod that goes unnoticed by everyone else.

The woman is dressed more appropriately than I am on my best day, with short black hair and lipstick so red, it’s a little jarring at nine thirty in the morning. She seems to be the one in charge as she reaches for Corey’s hand, and then mine, while Goddammit Barron looks on. “Amanda Thomas,” she says. “I’m an editor with Pantem Press. This is Barron Stephens, our lawyer, and Jeremy Crawford, our client.”

Jeremy and I shake hands, and he does a good job of pretending we didn’t share an extremely bizarre morning. He quietly takes the seat across from me. I try not to look at him, but it’s the only place my eyes seem to want to travel. I have no idea why I’m more curious about him than I am about this meeting.

Amanda pulls folders out of her briefcase and slides them in front of Corey and me.

“Thank you for meeting with us,” she says. “We don’t want to waste your time, so I’ll cut right to the chase. One of our authors is unable to fulfill a contract due to medical reasons, and we’re in search of a writer with experience in the same genre who may be interested in completing the three remaining books in her series.”

I glance at Jeremy, but his stoic expression doesn’t hint at his role in this meeting.

“Who is the author?” Corey asks.

“We’re happy to go over the details and terms with you, but we do ask that you sign the non-disclosure agreement. We would like to keep our author’s current situation out of the media.”

“Of course,” Corey says.

I acquiesce, but I say nothing as we both look over the forms and then sign them. Corey slides them back to Amanda.

“Her name is Verity Crawford,” she says. “I’m sure you’re familiar with her work.”

Corey stiffens as soon as they mention Verity’s name. Of course we’re familiar with her work. Everyone is. I hazard a glance in Jeremy’s direction. Is Verity his wife? They share a last name. He said downstairs that his wife is a writer. But why would he be in a meeting about her? A meeting she isn’t even here for?

“We’re familiar with the name,” Corey says, holding his cards close.

“Verity has a very successful series we would hate to see go unfinished,” Amanda continues. “Our goal is to bring in a writer who is willing to step in, finish the series, complete the book tours, press releases, and whatever else is normally required of Verity. We plan to put out a press release introducing the new co-writer while also preserving as much of Verity’s privacy as possible.”

When Chris Anducci is moved off jail duty and into the sheriff’s office, he doesn’t expect his first assignment to be protecting a witness against a human trafficking ring. Knowing the new sheriff doesn’t abide screw-ups, Chris reluctantly agrees to work the case.

Pavle Kasun has spent the last four years of his life at the mercy of others. When an opportunity presented itself, he took it, resulting in his rescue. Now the safe houses he’s placed in are being threatened and he needs protection if he is to have any sort of chance at a life.

Chris opens his home to Pavle, but he doesn’t expect Pavle and his story to get under his skin… and stay there. Soon they discover they have more in common than either of them thought. Slowly Pavle comes out of his shell and Chris finds someone who touches his heart. But as the men looking for Pavle close in, they will stop at nothing to get him out of the way. But even if Chris can keep him safe, he might not be able to protect his heart if Pavle moves back home.

 4.5 Stars
Andrew Grey delivers a touching and powerful story about healing and love in this newest addition to the Carlisle Deputy series! Chris and Pavle are wonderful characters who are just so easy to love. I think Pavle will always have a special place in my heart!
Chris is a Sheriff’s Deputy and his first assignment is to protect Pavle, a young man recently rescued after being a victim of human trafficking. He’s a key witness with a lot of information. He’s already been in a couple safe houses but someone is after him and putting him with Chris seems to be the safest option. As Chris and Pavle adjust to each other, they both learn a lot from each other, especially about real love.
These two together went straight to my heart! Pavle has been through so many awful, horrible things and while we get pieces of what he experienced, I liked seeing him get to experience new and happy things. I loved seeing him heal and get to make his own choices, it was just beautiful. Chris is amazing as well, he has such patience with Pavle and works hard to make sure Pavle understands things and continually proves that he will keep him safe. As these two fall in love with each other, there are definitely hurdles, but it’s easy to see how real their love is. I think Andrew Grey has delivered a very moving read and it’s easily one of my favorites! A definite must read.

A modern telling of a classic tale…

This isn’t a typical love story. This is a story of what happens when love is so powerful and all-consuming that it has the ability to destroy everyone involved. It’s definitely not pretty and it’s certainly not a fairytale, but it’s their story and it couldn’t be told any other way.

Sex, love and revenge! And a whole lot of drama, oh my! I don’t exactly know how I feel about this story to be honest, it wrecked my heart and it made my heart happy. There is love and loss and tragedy and these two authors weave one hell of a tale!

I have to admit that I haven’t read Wuthering Heights so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. This is not your typical romance novel and it takes place over three time periods. This book shows that not everyone gets that HEA but it also shows the power of love, the good and bad. I loved the writing, I felt sucked into this story and these characters, felt their pain. In the end, it was Heath that stole my heart and it surprised the hell out of me.

A complex and angsty read, Heath was fantastic!

I adore a second chance romance. I mean it is one of my absolute favorites to read. Throw in a Kristen Proby second chance romance? Yeah I’m onboard even more!! I loved every word of Tempting Brooke! Brody was the guy who couldn’t wait to blow outta his hometown, though he had more than just escaping a small town on his agenda. Coming back brings him face to face with the girl that he never forgot, and lots of memories. Reconnecting as adults with obvious chemistry proves to Brody that sometimes you can go home, and sometimes perspective makes some of the bad memories not so vivid. Truly just a beautiful story of love, second chances and new beginnings.

“Hello?” Brody calls through the screen.

“Hey.” I hold it open, gesturing for him to come inside. “Enter at your own risk. I’m living inside an oven.”

“Is your air conditioning broken?” he asks, but my eyes are on the cold beer and pizza in his hands.

“No, I don’t have it. Are we having a party?”

“The game’s on,” he says with a grin. “It’s been a while since we watched the Cubs together, so   I grabbed some game food and came right over.”

I feel the smile slip over my lips. He thought to come here to watch the game with me.

Brody always was the sweetest guy I knew. Seems that hasn’t changed.

“Fun,” I reply. “I’ll grab some plates. We should sit on the floor.”

“It’s cooler down there.”

He blinks at me, considering, and then shrugs one shoulder and sets the pizza in the middle of the floor, sits, and opens the box.

“Thin crust pepperoni,” he says. “I hope this is still your favorite.”

“It is. I’ll be right back.” I hurry into the kitchen to get the plates, and take a moment to lean on the countertop, my hand over my chest, to catch my breath. If he keeps this up, I’ll fall in love with him, and that can only lead to disaster.

  He’s leaving.

“The Cubs are winning,” he calls from the other room. I grab our plates and join him, sitting a few feet away, and reach for a slice of pizza.

“O’Shaughnessy has been badass this year.”

“He’s badass every year,” I reply around a bite of food, and then laugh when he frowns at me.   “What? It’s true.”

“Hmm.” He swigs his beer, and we fall into a comfortable silence, eating and watching baseball. “Oh, come on! You should have caught that!”

“You always did get riled up watching baseball.”

He smiles at me, then wipes his mouth with a napkin. “There’s no other way to watch it. God, you weren’t kidding. It’s damn hot in here.”

“I know, I’m sorry. We could go somewhere else to watch the game.”

“No, I like having you to myself,” he replies, surprising me. “I’ll just take my shirt off.”

Before I can find enough brain cells to form a sentence, he whips his shirt over his head and tosses it onto the couch.

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. Times a million.

I blink rapidly, trying not to stare at the tanned, toned, muscley goodness that is Brody Chabot, but it’s impossible.

He’s like the most glorious work of art in the world, and I’d challenge anyone to be able to look away.

His arms, his abs, his freaking shoulders, flex as he moves to grab another slice of pizza. How he can eat while all of my synapses are exploding one by one is beyond me.

I think I just lost all bodily function.

And I haven’t even seen him all the way naked. This is just the upper half.

I bite my lip and take a sip of my beer, trying to distract myself.
