Standalone second book in the Skins series.

Lonely physiotherapist Harry Foster has the world at his feet. A full client list, a six figure Instagram following, and a publishing deal for a book he doesn’t have time to write until his agent offers him a break—a retreat to the wild south west coast.

Cornish horseman Joe Carter is lonely too. Rescuing horses and managing Whisper Farm takes up most of his days, and by night he plays chicken with the farm’s perilous bank accounts.

At his sister’s unwelcome suggestion, he rents his only bedroom to a bloke from the city, and when Harry arrives, he’s everything Joe isn’t—calm, patient, and gorgeous enough to be exactly the kind of distraction Joe doesn’t need.

Harry doesn’t have time for distractions either—even shirtless farmers riding bareback past his bedroom window—but his moody host proves impossible to ignore.

On paper, they have nothing in common, but Joe is beautiful…glorious, and when an accident puts his life in Harry’s healing hands, the whisper of true love is inevitable. If the trouble that put the farm on its knees in the first place doesn’t get in the way.

I love it when opposites attract and that is Henry and Joe! Henry is is a holsitic healer and Joe is a hardworking farm man. These two don’t seem like they have a chance but when you really pay attention they are just meant to be!

Garrett Leigh does a great job of bringing characters together to find love even in the most unlikely places! Harry is a city boy with his kale smoothie and Joe sleeps on the couch in his boots in the farm! I loved their journey – it’s definirely  not easy and these two aren’t forced to face their feelings multiple times! The emotions of these characters is just nailed as they find their way to happiness and you can feel it! Another great read with grit and emotion and real love!

BLURB:

Nobody says no to a Prescott.

Not even one of their own.

Holden:
Living up to expectations had never been easy, but when I went after something, I got it. Success. Money. Victory. I was standing on the doorstep to having it all. There was only one thing standing in my way.

Gage:
Power and prosperity are overrated. Especially when they come at a price. When enough became enough, I walked away. Nothing had ever tempted me to look back, until one day the past showed up in my backyard.

I’m not so sure I can walk away a second time.

This is one of those stories I was all excited about and Cate Ashwood really delivered for me! It was fun, sweet and sexy – a story about how sometimes when we think the worst is happening, it turns out to be the best thing that could happen!

Holden has been under his father’s thumb for his entire life and now daddy dearest has given him an impossible job to do and threatens to cut him off if can’t complete the job. Now Holden is off to remote Alaska to try to talk Gage in to returning to New York and working with his father again. Nope, just not going to happen. When Gage immediate shuts him down, Holden starts off miserable, thinking his life as he knows it is over, but he doesn’t give up. Then he starts spending time with Gage and in there small hospital and starts to see things a little differently.

Holden and Gage together – so much passion, and sass in the beginning, and eventually heartmelty love! Initially neither man wants to like the other, not even a little bit, but soon they grow on each other a bit plus they have this amazing physical connection. As time goes on and Holden is still in Alaska, he sees the work Gage does, work he’s started doing there as well. These two fall hard for each other, not something either of them was prepared for, but they definitely fall! I love the relationship that builds between them, it’s natural and genuine, even the struggles they face. I think Cate really does a great job bringing this story together, the willingness of these two men to do what it takes to stay together – swoon! I really enjoyed this book from start to finish, totally fell for these two and am already to looking forward to more of this group!

5 Stars

I LOVE Melissa Collins and the emotional stories she writes and I loved Chase and Noah but what really made this a 5 star read for me was the way she brought their story together. I enjoyed the whole book, getting to know Chase and Noah, their struggles, finding each other and watching their relationship develop, but for me it was the last bit of their journey that really gave me all the feels and really made me fall in love with them!

Chase and Noah aren’t the most likely pair, but there is something that just clicks between these two right from the start. There’s passion and chemistry but it quickly develops into so much more than either of them were expecting. They have another connection to each other too, one that could change everything. But these two are just meant to be, as different as they are they bring out the best in each other even in the rough moments.

Overall, a great story with a beautiful ending that just made my heart so freaking happy!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Melissa Collins has always been a book worm. Studying Literature in college ensured that her nose was always stuck in a book. She followed her passion for reading to the most logical career choice: English teacher. Her hope was to share her passion for reading and the escapism of books to her students. Having spent more than a decade in front of a classroom, she can easily say that it’s been a dream.
Her passion for writing didn’t start until more recently. When she was home on maternity leave in early 2012, she read her first romance novel and her head filled with the passion, angst and laughter of the characters who she read about it. It wasn’t long before characters of her own took shape in her mind. Their lives took over Melissa’s brain and The Love Series was born.

Lyric

A stand-alone romance novel in the Rebel series – a Redemption series spin-off

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Molly McAdams delivers the first captivating, stand-alone novel in her REDEMPTION series spin-off—the REBEL series . . .
I’m not the kind of girl you forget.
I wish I was.
I wish I was normal.
That I could blend into a crowd. Have a future with the man I’ve loved my entire life…
Maxon James understands me in a way others can’t.
For as long as I can remember, he’s vowed that one day he would claim my wild, rebel heart. God knows I wanted him to try. I wanted the life he promised me in his lyrics.
But his assurances couldn’t change the past, and the infamous mafia blood in my veins guarantees my heart can’t be claimed.
Somewhere along the way, I slipped. I let myself believe we could have it all. Now a dark, menacing shadow hovers between us, mocking us for daring to hope for a normal future.
And it’s come to collect on a blood oath.
My name’s Elizabeth Borello—Libby for short. Don’t worry about forgetting it… He hasn’t.

From EPIC Award winning author and multiple Lambda Finalist L.A. Witt comes the re-release of three hot contemporary novellas — Getting off the Ground, Infinity Pools, and On The List.

After being stood up at the altar, compulsive over-planner Elliott Chandler decides to turn his honeymoon on Oahu into a vacation for one. Fate puts a hitch in his plans, however, when the airport is snowed in and his flight is delayed.

In the terminal, the jilted groom catches the eye of another stranded traveler: the laidback and very sexy Derek Windsor. Derek breaks the ice and strikes up a conversation, and as the temperature drops outside, the heat between them rises. Pity they’re both going to different islands, but if their flight doesn’t get off the ground fast, Mr. Calm-and-Cool may just tempt Mr. Play-It-Safe into doing something reckless.

And that plane isn’t going anywhere any time soon…

I definitely enjoyed these stories, following Elliot and Derek, two guys who make an unlikely pair but yet so perfect for each other! A chance meeting at an airport brings these two together and the chemistry is undeniable from the start will change their lives! There are some challenges for these two though that make you wonder if these guys will get their much deserved HEA!

I really enjoyed this story and the narration! I loved these two together and what they became for each other. Sometimes life doesn’t go as planned but sometimes you just have to follow that direction and go for it! I really love that idea of finding love on a whim in an airport and I think LA Witt does a great job delivereing that story! Definitely a must read or listen!

About The Author

L.A. Witt is an abnormal M/M romance writer who has finally been released from the purgatorial corn maze of Omaha, Nebraska, and now spends her time on the southwestern coast of Spain. In between wondering how she didn’t lose her mind in Omaha, she explores the country with her husband, several clairvoyant hamsters, and an ever-growing herd of rabid plot bunnies. She also has substantially more time on her hands these days, as she has recruited a small army of mercenaries to search South America for her nemesis, romance author Lauren Gallagher, but don’t tell Lauren. As I Am is simply Melissa Collins at her best! I thoroughly enjoyed Chase and Noah in her short story, Stripped Bare (from the Drunk in Love anthology); but it left me wanting more. Thankfully those desires were answered here! This beautiful story of finding love amongst the broken pieces of life. Chase and Noah reconnect in an unexpected way, but once it happens they both know that their connection can’t be ignored despite their differences. It was simply all I’d hoped for and more. So much passion and desire, but also so many emotions and angst as they both come to terms with the things that haunt them from their pasts.

Release Blitz & GIVEAWAY: Orderly Affair (Hearts & Health #6) by DJ Jamison

Length: 75,000 words approx.

Hearts & Health Series

A hospital orderly explores his bisexuality with an adorably geeky lab tech, but can their sparks lead to love outside the closet?

When Ian Connolly installs a hookup app to explore his long-suppressed attraction to men, he doesn’t expect to connect with anyone he knows, especially not lab tech Callum Price. But from their first scorching encounter, he’s hooked.

Callum hasn’t had the best luck with love, and he’s suffocating under a pile of responsibilities. But when he sees an opportunity to blow off steam with Ian, he takes it. The man is smoking hot, big all over, and sweet as pie.

Their chemistry is off the charts, but a relationship is more challenging. Callum remains stubbornly self-reliant, while Ian tries too hard to be his rock. But if Ian can be honest with his family about loving a man, maybe Callum can admit his own truth: He wants a man he can count on, a man just like Ian.

Here’s an excerpt of an app hookup that serves as the catalyst for Ian and Callum’s relationship. Enjoy!

Excerpt

Callum Price swallowed hard, staring at Ian Connolly’s massive … everything.
The orderly was six-foot-four, compared with Callum’s modest five-foot-eight height. Broad and muscled, Ian could toss Callum across the room with very little effort. That sent a thrill of fear through his body and a frisson of excitement straight to his cock.

You are one screwed up puppy.

Callum knew the guy from the app might be someone he knew, but he never would have guessed him to be Ian “straight guy” Connolly.

He licked his lips and raked his eyes over Ian’s chest and stomach, too obscured by the loose scrub top to hint at the goodies beneath. “I didn’t know you were …”

“Me either,” Ian said. Then coughed with embarrassment. “I mean, I’m bi and just now exploring my … curiosity.”

“Bi or bi-curious? They’re not the same.”

“Are we really going to have a serious talk about sexuality in the john?”

Ian had a point. Callum’s pulse raced, sending all his blood south and muddying his thoughts, as he stared at BigBiGuy. Ian. He knew the hospital orderly only through a loosely organized group of hospital staffers who played basketball every now and then. They nodded and smiled hello in the halls, but their paths didn’t cross all that much.

Yet, here they were.

Callum had noticed Ian was a big guy; it would have been impossible to miss. But he’d filed him into the unavailable category with all the other straight men, and as a result, hadn’t fully appreciated the man’s body.

He wasn’t about to miss an opportunity to correct that mistake.

“Take off your shirt.”

DJ Jamison is the author of more than a dozen m/m romances, including the Ashe Sentinel series and the Hearts and Health series. She writes a variety of queer characters, from gay to bisexual to asexual, with a focus on telling love stories that are more about common ground than lust at first sight. DJ grew up in the Midwest in a working-class family, and those influences can be found in her writing through characters coping with real-life problems: money troubles, workplace drama, family conflicts and, of course, falling in love. DJ spent more than a decade in the newspaper industry before chasing her first dream to write fiction. She spent a lifetime reading before that, and continues to avidly devour her fellow authors’ books each night. She lives in Kansas with her husband, two sons, two fish and, regrettably, one snake.

Rhoades.

Loneliness. The pain doesn’t simply go away with time. It’s been years, and they tell me I need to move on. But I can’t.

Blame and regret are my constant companions. Until I see him in the spotlight and everything changes. Night after night, I watch him dance. Thinking about him.

What he’d feel like.

What he’d taste like.

And now that I know, I want him even more.

And maybe…just maybe, he might want me too.

But not yet.

Not before he knows he’s more than a pretty face. Not before he knows what he means to me. I need him by my side.

The two of us.

Together.

Austin

Why can’t I forget him? His hands touching me. His mouth on mine. Kissing me. Rendering me mindless.

Breathless.

Every night I lay awake burning for him. Dreaming. Thinking. Needing him.

No—I don’t. I don’t need anyone.

I lie.

I want him.

I want more. I am more. He’s seen that, and now here I stand with my dream on the horizon. All I need to do is take that first step. Trust him.

Trust myself.

4.5 Stars

I was so very excited about this book after getting teased by Austin and Felice Stevens does not disappoint! When we first meet these characters it’s very quick and passionate and it’s not totally easy to figure them out, especially the mysterious rich Rhoades, but GAH I loved getting to know these guys in this book. There is so much to both of these guys and they totally stole my heart.

Rhoades is a rich developer who has spent the last few years living a very closed off life, but a trip to Man Up and seeing Austin dance and something changes in him. Austin walked away from money, more than once, not allowing it to own or change him and now he’s determined to make it on his own, even if that means lap dances and tiny apartments. These two men live very different lives, but both have experienced pain and just maybe they can find happiness together.

I loved the journey with these two, and while it was a slow burn, it was SO worth it once these two finally figure it out! Austin is so determined to prove that he can’t be bought that he pushes Rhoades away so hard. And Rhoades, it is so time for him to live again. These two were just meant to be no matter how much of a struggle it was and I LOVE THEM! Felice Stevens once again delivers and emotional love story that I totally lost myself in. I loved the side characters in this book as well and really hope we get to learn more about James!! Another fantastic, highly recommended read!

Rhoades Teaser

EXCERPT

Fuck. I could kill Marcus. But I couldn’t refuse, and he knew it. Rhoades held me, but not too close, and after some initial hesitancy, I allowed myself to feel the music.

Rhoades’s breath touched my cheek, and I smelled the heat of the scotch he drank. It was like the night we kissed all over again, and I swayed, desire clawing at my insides. Why did being in close proximity to this man make me light-headed and restless?

“How are you?”

“Fine,” I managed to speak. The club had taken on a sensuous glow, and the people beside us faded to black. All I could see was Rhoades.

“So you work in a dance studio? I should’ve guessed by your dancing at Man Up that you had formal training. You move beautifully.”

“I’ve worked there for a while. We teach kids four-to-nine years old. I love it.”

“And is that what you’d like to do? Teach dance? I know you can’t want to dance at Man Up for long.”

“All these questions.” I shifted nervously. I wasn’t about to reveal my dream to him. He’d no doubt find it foolish—maybe even as stupid as my father had. “I thought we were just going to dance.”

“Very well.” He said nothing more, and we danced, our bodies brushing. His effect on me was magnetic, his touch a force pulling me in close. I concentrated on his face: the small lines fanning out from his eyes, the dark brows like wings, his firm mouth. The taste of his lips lingered on my tongue, as bright and pure as if we were kissing now. I found it impossible to be near Rhoades and not crave his touch. Somehow I’d moved closer to him, and our cheeks touched.

“I wondered if I’d see you again after you didn’t show up this past week. I didn’t think you came to these types of clubs.”

“Do you think of me, then?” His hand slid up my back and splayed between my shoulder blades. I didn’t mind that possessive touch.…I wanted it.

“I…”

“I think of you.” His whispered voice filled my ear with a roar. “After I left you last week, I stayed away like you asked, but I couldn’t sleep at night. Do you want to know why?”

I found myself nodding. We’d stopped dancing, though he continued to hold me, and we swayed together, caught up in our own world.

“I don’t know. Isn’t that crazy? You know I’ve watched you at James’s club. From the first, you caught me with your confidence—you owned the stage—but I also saw something yearning in you. That it wasn’t enough. You want more.”

His hands rested on my hips, and we stood chest-to-chest. The music played on, its sensuous beat rolling through me. I could smell desire in the air.

“Yes.”

The tips of his fingers trailed over my cheek and jaw in a gesture so achingly intimate, I fought to keep standing. Finally he put his mouth on mine, and we kissed. No thrusting tongues and panting breaths. Only a gentle press of lips…and it shocked me that a man who radiated such strength could carry this tenderness inside him.

“Keep true to yourself. Follow your dreams. Only you can make them real.”

And with one last kiss, he walked away and disappeared into the crowd before I found time to take a breath. I thought about going after him but stopped myself. He was doing what I asked. Giving me the space I’d demanded. I had already told him I wouldn’t fuck him in a club, and he remembered and respected that. Another man might’ve tried to persuade me with drinks or force. Rhoades wasn’t the man I thought.

Felice Stevens has always been a romantic at heart. While life is tough, she believes there is a happy ending for everyone. She started reading traditional historical romances as a teenager, then life and law school got in the way. It wasn’t until she picked up a copy of Bertrice Small and became swept away to Queen Elizabeth’s court that her interest in romance novels was renewed.

But somewhere along the way, her reading shifted to stories of men falling in love. Once she picked up her first gay romance, she became so enamored of the character-driven stories and the overwhelming emotion there was no turning back.

Felice lives in New York City with her husband and two children. Her day begins with a lot of caffeine and ends with a glass or two of red wine. Although she practices law, she daydreams of a time when she can sit by a beach and write beautiful stories of men falling in love. Although there is bound to be some angst along the way, a Happily Ever After is always guaranteed.

New Release: Bishop by BT Urrulea

Happy release day BT Urruela!! I seriously adore this guy! His smile and laugh are infectious and he just tells it like he sees it. Plus he’s a Cardinals Fan like me, so you know he’s good people! HA! But seriously, I hope that you’ll check out his newest release. It’s a military romance and I’m fairly certain it’ll be as real as only a vet can tell it. So check out the teasers and the blurb and go give it a click. Here’s the pic I got with the man himself last weekend at the Talkbooks Author Event!

Blurb:

McKenzie Bishop is fresh out of the Army after getting wounded overseas. Estranged from his family, he decides to attend college as far away from home as possible; ending up at Buchanan State University, in Crescent Falls, Pennsylvania. He doesn’t know a soul there; so, it’s the perfect place to begin the next chapter in his life.

After two weeks of immense boredom, loneliness, and his own form of alcohol therapy, he decides to pledge a fraternity, something he always wanted to do prior to joining the Army. Enter, Delta Iota Kappa, the animal house of BSU.

Bishop is the oldest one in his pledge class and wary about what the pledging process will entail, but like everything else in his life prior, he fully commits. Everything goes smoothly until the night he’s arrested at a fraternity party.

Faced with jail time or a Veterans Affairs substance abuse program, Bishop chooses the latter, and to his surprise, falls head over heels for his much older female counselor. He finds this elusive woman intriguing and suddenly, his sessions become about much more than learning how to overcome his addiction to alcohol.
